What a bummer to see low ratings for such a fun place!! I have been coming to Severs since I was a kid, and have always enjoyed it! The parking is free and I highly recommend doing no the cheaper presale tickets or get the online core you go! You get a discount and don't have to wait in line. When you get there, they do have a free program booklet/map. There are apples, honey and pumpkins for purchase and plenty of spots for you to take your fall photos. There is a north and south food area! Highly recommend the roasted corn! There are also classics like kettle corn, beer, alcoholic ciders, mini doughnuts and more! This year they added a BMX bike show and my boys REALLY like that! (Free) The maze is free and takes just under an hour for us to normally complete it. The petting zoo is also free unless you want to feed the animals. Then it's a few bucks for a cup of food. There is a giant slide, little train ride that goes around the grounds,hayride, pumpkin blaster, pony rides, and more that all have a small extra fee to them. I suspect this is why the ratings are lower. There are also large jumping pillows (adults can go on these too), shows, pig races, picture opportunities, small play ground areas, a large tire climbing area, zip line, hay maze, corn pit and more that are free. So plenty to do without having to shell out more money if you do not want to! This is a fall staple in my house! And we enjoy it every year! read more

If you're frugal family, I can NOT recommend this place at all. Don't get too excited by the pictures and do your research before coming on how much everything cost. You pay 25 plus something dollars per person over 3 yrs to get in the door and a majority of the stuff inside still has an extra charge. That's $100+ for a family of four to just walk into the place!? Did I miss discounted tickets somewhere? - just make sure you digest all of the website so nothing gives your wallet a shock when you get there. BUT, however, if you have the extra expendable income - you should have a okay time and a extra price tags for most extras doesn't faze you for extras - it should be a decent time had by you and your little one's. Note: NO dogs. There is ample parking and you'll need it on the weekend as it for crowded VERY quick. It does have some cute gimmicky things instagram photo moments - that were luckily free. Everything on the grounds likes cash. Make sure you bring plenty of small bills to make vendors happy. It's a meh from me and I'll gamble on somewhere else next time. read more

It's not cheap and you will spend monty there on top of the entrance fee but I can't say we didn't have fun! The people working were super nice and helped us find the activities we wanted to do. We didn't eat any of the food so I can't speak to that. The zip like and bouncy domes were the biggest hit. they did a good job of keeping the little kids safe from big kid stomps. the corn pit was also super fun. I do wonder what the mice population the corn pit is. but that is a musing for another day and time. I will be going again next year. read more

Tickets were easily purchased online and you got a deal for booking head. They have a lot of parking which is nice. When you walk up they have a little pumpkin market. Inside Sever's Fall Festival is full of fun activities like the corn maze, corn pits, jumping pillows, food, and more! I like doing their corn maze, as they always have challenges you can complete during the maze to make it a bit more fun! They also keep it nice and open to easily walk through. This was our family's third - and last - year attending the driving light tour. The quality and diversity of display has declined every year that we've come. More than a third of displays had noticeable chunks of lights out, or were half finished. Not worth the cost of the entry fee. Younger children may not notice these things, but my pre-teen and teen were not impressed based on the above issues. read more

Attended the Holiday Lights at Severs Festivals last night. The light show was extremely well coordinated, creative, and the music on the radio were remixes of the classics (which played well with the music). The only thing I will say is that it is a little more expensive than most comparable light shows in the area. read more

This is a wonderful full, fall day experience, especially for the kids! Ticket prices have slightly increased over the years but so has everything else. Its just a bummer that you have to pay for the kiddie train, slide & pumpkins slingshots. Great selection of food & drink options. My family and I, including 4 children under the age of 7, and 5 adults, recently visited Sever's. This was our 2nd year coming, as last year we found it a really sweet place to take your family. However, this year, things had changed somewhat from last year. At the pillows, on the pillow designated for small kids only, which our kids absolutely love, 3 young men in their 20s-30s were allowed to play with the little kids. This made us feel very uneasy and that our kids were not safe. We had to constantly redirect our kids away from these young men. These young men were not attended to and a long duration of time went by before employees who were sitting at a table at the entrance did something about it, if they did anything about it at all. We would have stayed longer at the pillows, but it was disturbing to us that this was let happen, in terms of overall safety. After visiting a few more fun things, which were safe and only little kids were using, we went to our 2nd favorite place at Sever's - the straw bales. Unfortunately, at the straw bales, there was a young male in his late 20s-early 30s, jumping around on the bales with his shirt off, low-cut pants below his navel, long wild hair, and a fanny pack that he was fidgeting in. He was barreling over the tops of young kids. This man appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic. He appeared to be alone. This situation made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe and we left the bales and went home, as no employees were in attendance. We shortened our stay by half the time that we spent last year. As I stated, Sever's is supposed to be a sweet place to take your kids where kids can just have fun and be safe and be kids, but it is not fun or safe when you have to wonder what these young men in their 20s and 30s are up to. I don't have a complaint about the costs; everything is expensive these days. But if I'm going to spend this kind of money for my kids to have a good time, I expect more in terms of their overall safety. Although I know it is impossible for employees to be everywhere all the time, the occurrences I spoke of above went on for long durations of time and were barely noticed or not noticed at all by staff. Overall, this was a fairly disappointing visit for our entire family. read more

LOVEEE coming to Sever's for some good 'ol fall fun for both adults and kids. The food vendors are always on point, we especially loved and bought several bags of the Biltong. My kids were also so happy to get their faces painted and jump across the hay bales/maze. The corn pit can keep you and your kids entertained for at least an hour if not more! LOL. We weren't able to make it to the petting zoo but is something to see for sure! Be sure to wear clothes and shoes you're okay with getting dirty, and some cash as some things require cash (like the slide and food for the petting zoo). Don't miss the corn on the way out, and some of the fall photo ops. Parking is plentiful, I'd recommend giving yourself at least 3-4 hours to spend here. read more

This is actually a review of the holiday lights. $50/ car is absolutely insane. No signage at the entrance. My kids saw the lights from afar and decided to drive through them. Visited yesterday due to the nice weather. I like visiting places like this in general so I'll cover positives and negatives. Overall a nice family fall activity to be done. Positives: A variety of activities to appeal to the whole family. Corn maze, petting zoo, bouncing bladders, kids zip line, and more. Some activities do have additional cost such as pumpkin shooting which is understandable. Decent selection of fair food and drinks to be had. Free parking. Negatives: Entry a bit high for what it includes. Concessions for a few vendors needs to be better run, 30 minutes for a quesadilla at 1:30 (finally ordered at 2) PM is a bit much. Entrance from streets need planning and coordination, I have been to smaller ones who work with local police/sheriff to help direct traffic. Overall not bad but some areas for improvement. read more

This has become a family tradition now for us for the last couple of years. Always a high quality experience that is well worth the ticket price. I will list a few of the things that my family really enjoys. Corn Pit - This is always a good one. A swimming pool basically filled full of corn. Very fun to play in, especially for the kids! Petting Zoo - This is literally the best petting zoo I have ever been too. So many unique species of animals, this is not your typical goat and sheep petting zoo. They have camels, kangaroos, tiny deer, donkey, llamas, ostriches, etc. SO cool. The Maze - It is in the title so you know it has to be good. And it is. Very fun to go in and solve the puzzles that are in the maze. The Parakeet Cage - Really fun to go into an enclosed area with so many parakeets and feed them. Very fun for everyone. There is a lot more to do than just what I stated. You have pumpkin cannons, pig races, a magic show, rides, and pumpkin patches. A very great way to spend a Fall weekend. read more

Overall this was fun, but kid-friendly almost to a fault. The advertisement would have you think there is fun for all ages, but for anyone old enough to drink without kids, there is basically the corn maze, beer, and some very overpriced activities. Which leads me to the other part of the 3 star rating. You can get in, and go through the corn maze, see the very sad exotic animals, climb in he corn pit with tons of side eye from the parental group, and walk around to have a look at most of the other activities, which are not included in the door price. I've been coming to Sever's for 15 seasons. It's generally my favorite fall time things to do. I was even looking forward to it's new location since it had really outgrown where it had been. I was disappointed this year. The road to enter the place was awful, far worse than the field parking of years past. The majority of people that visit this place are people with kids so we arrive in minivans and with the loose and pitted gravel caused a bit of damage to our vehicle in the way out. For the ever rising price of admission these people are collecting $60-100 a car for admission they should address the entry immediately. read more

We had an amazing time at Severs today. It was very hot and there was no one there at all. We had fun feeding the birds, goats, sheep and camels. We really loved the pumpkin guns where you get to shoot small pumpkins at cars and targets. Most thing are 5bucks or less to do. Very fun we will be back. read more

We absolutely love this place. We came today (opening day 2015) and immediately one of the friendly staff members said, "I remember you from last year!" She even recalled my daughter's name! Nice to see you Tammy! We've come every year for the last four years. We take our annual photos on the huge bouncy pillows, eat mini donuts & very tasty corn on the cob, visit the petting zoo, and end with a "swim" in the corn kernel pit. We've never actually done the corn maze. When our daughter gets bigger we will for sure. But for now, the bouncy pillow, animals and fun live music are attractions enough. We were also thrilled today to meet the gracious Mr Severs himself, who humbly gave all the credit to his grown up kids. I highly recommend coming early and spending the day. read more

Growing up in San Francisco has kept me in the dark about a lot of "outdoor" activities. In my mind corn mazes only exist in movies. Frankly I did not even know what exactly a corn maze would look like. I came here anticipated seeking fields of corn, as in the movies Signs or Jeepers Creepers. I was pleasantly surprised. +First, if you are a newbie to such midwestern festivities like myself, you would be happy to heard that Sever's Corn Maze has food stands!!! I like to eat so this made me quite happy. I had totchos which are akin to nachos but with tots. It was greasy and delicious. They also have cider, hamburgers, corn and hot dog, sweet corn on cob, doughnuts, and tacos. +/-The corn maze itself was decent. I went with a group of friends and we attempted to complete the maze activity (e.g., find the 6 of 26 signs with a letter and a train picture). Besides our group, mostly families participated... + they have scheduled shows. While we missed the pig race (sadly), we saw the magic show which was pretty darn cute considering the astonished facial response from the kiddos around us. + I love petting zoos and they have so many animals here! They had potbellied pigs, miniature horses, kangaroos, llamas, goats, emus, and more that I don't remember. You can buy a small cup of feed for a dollar. I was easily sold. Overall, I had a great time. I did not see scarecrows jumping out of fields to murder me, so that was an extra plus. I suspect a lot of little kids wouldn't be impressed with the actual corn maze, but there's plenty of fun to be had in the corn pit and hay bale maze and the jumping pillows. Light Festival. Do NOT waste your TIME or Money. We went the day after Thanksgiving 11/27/20 and there was a huge line. Waited over 2 hours to get in a 5 min max drive thru light show that was NOT good at all !! I was expectng something really nice with all of the millions of lights they claim they have. Oh what fun it was! This is very much kid friendly--not very much for adults aside from enjoying it with your kid(s). Camel ride- $5 per person and it was only for about 45 seconds long. Not worth it in my opinion. Bird and animal feeding- $2 per stick or cup. This was so worth it especially with your kids! They also offer hand washing stations around so that was really nice to have! Pumpkin shooting station- $5 a bucket. This was fun and staff were friendly and helpful. Corn pit was well thought out with lots of fun! Zip line was free and fun. The pillow jump was so fun for the kids and parents. They make sure to split up the big kids and little kids. There was plenty other free things to do with the family. We made sure to do all the activities and WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND (other than the camel ride-that's where I had to dock a star). read more

Our family has gone to many of the corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and fall entertainment areas in the past. Sever's is overpriced. The best attractions there are at an additional cost. The slide, camels, horses, train, pumpkin cannon shoot all cost additional. We won't be going back. Will enjoy the other attractions in the Twin City area from here on out. read more

Admission is very high for what it includes. The place is relatively small and hard to get to with the construction. Many activities cost $2-5 to do, on top of the admission. The only activities included are the maze, the zipline, cornpit, bouncy pillow, shows, and parakeet house. It would be better if the admission wasn't pushing $20/person. read more

Woohoo! This is my first Yelp - and definitely wanted to get the word out about how amazingly epic this place is to others. At first, I wasn't sure what to expect because I thought the $10 admission fee (regular price is $11, you can find a $1 coupon on their website) was a bit pricey and only was for the corn maze. But upon entrance, you'll find so much more! There's a pumpkin patch, a giant straw bale maze for kids (and adults alike), an exotic animal petting zoo (you can even feed kangaroos or an ostrich.. come on, an OSTRICH!), a potato sack slide, great live entertainment, magic and wildlife shows, and more! The sig oth and I decided to do the hay ride (very reasonably priced at $1!) and we couldn't stop laughing at the bumpiness. Though, I wouldn't recommend the ride for those with bad backs. Another thing we tried was the giant corn pit - at first a bit intimidating, I mean, it's a giant pit full of corn and kids. Yet swimming in a giant a pool of golden yellow kernels can be strangely therapeutic! (Just remember to take out stuff from your pockets and bring an extra pair of socks if you decide to go in!) There were also things for sig oth to do, as he tends to like things that involve launching projectiles. Thus, the pumpkin slinger and corn launcher were a perfect fit for him. Believe me, watching an ear of corn coming from a cannon and rocketing across the sky will either make you smile, laugh, or cry. Food is typical fair food - good corn dogs and really good cheese curds! Prices are also quite reasonable, and you won't have to sell your soul for nourishment. You'll also find plenty of roasted corn to be the popular hit. Last, but not least, the corn maze. I read that the Sever family has been making these corn mazes for 14 years now, and this year's was certainly complicated, but fun! You'll find participants of all ages, and paths are wide and clear so it doesn't feel crowded at all. You'll be given a map to help navigate and checkpoints, if you'd like to follow them. For us, completing the maze took around 45 minutes to an hour. I felt like a Midwestern Alice in Wonderfarm! If you're going during a sunny day, I'd definitely recommend some sunglasses and a hat. Not corny, just fun! I've wanted to check this place out FOREVER! Well, this was finally my year. It was a cool and breezy yet sunny Sunday afternoon a couple weeks ago so we headed down to the maze. I found a coupon on their website, which made it $20 instead of $22 for entry. We did not go in the corn pit or the haystacks since they were most infested with children, except for the one twenty something couple we saw quasi making out in the corn pit! We got our map and inquired as to how long it should take us to make it through the maze. We were informed between 45 minutes to an hour should be good. Be the adventurous types we are, we decide we are not going to go in order, but set out to conquer the maze with no rhyme or reason. It's a good thing I wasn't alone, I would have quit! Who would have thought it was so hard for me to read a map to a maze? Then I remembered, ah I hate those puzzles on the back of menus at chain restaurants, therefore, I am not going to be able to find my way through a corn maze. Despite the 7 year-olds finding their way through quicker than us and the teenagers acting like idiots, we had a great time. I would go back again to see if my map skills have improved. The corn dogs are the same as the ones outside the dome, which are excellent, better than the ones at the fair in my opinion, and the hot cocoa was a perfect way to warm up after my 1 hour and 40 minutes in the maze. Don't bring your kiddos here for a birthday party; they are an absolute rip-off. Normal price to get in is $15, their "birthday/group rate" is $12 per person ages 4 and up (a little stiff). They offer picnic tables for the birthday group, that's it. You can bring in a birthday cake, nothing else. I asked nicely if I could at least bring in a case of bottled waters for my guests, and their response was, "No, the guests need to purchase water from the concession stands". Hm, so before we blow out candles I'll have the party line up to purchase waters?? NO thank you! I snuck in water anyway despite their rediculous response. The tables set up for the group included 6 picnic tables that were crammed closely together underneeth a small tent. There was another birthday party literally right next to us.. it feld a little odd being as close as we were. Also, there was a face painting station right in front of the tables. With that being said every child wanted their face painted... prices started at $6 per kid (no discount for birthdays). In conculsion, they are expensive.. Very disappointed! 2 hours in the car getting off the freeway. Renaissance Festival is the same exit, miles of completely stopped traffic. Get in there after I emailed on Wednesday asking if everything was up and running due to covid and staffing shortage. I was told yes, everything except the hayrides. So look around for the one thing the kids were excited about, the camel rides. I go ask the guy in the petting zoo and he said the camels won't be here until the first weekend in October. I had emailed the festival on Wednesday asking so they had my email and phone number. I email Monday and she says sorry there was a misunderstanding with the festival and who supplies the camels. OMG - how are there not more reviews for this magical wonderland of all things corn?! Question: do you like state fairs? If you said yes, then there's a high probability that you will enjoy the Severs Corn Maze. The maze itself is actually pretty impressive. Ever stood in the middle of an actual corn field? That stuff grows pretty tall! It's clearly fun for kids... as an adult I found it enjoyable, but would have liked it more if we had gone during off-peak hours so we could have tried to do the maze on our own (it's hard to do it legitimately when there are so many people you have to actively try NOT to follow them). Lots of delicious state-fair-style fried foods and beverages. The corn pool was equally horrifying and amazing. The petting zoo was pretty cool, although those things are always kind of sad. I was impressed that they has kangaroos and other exotic animals there (including a zonkey... that's what you get when you breed a zebra and a donkey, FYI). Good family fun - I recommend it! Not Covid safe. Masks aren't required in the tent. I asked Sever's & they said they are following CDC guidelines, claiming the tent is outside. To me a tent is inside. I told them the MN zoo & Como require masks outside. No reply. They were also bringing kids up on stage with no masks on them or the magician. read more
