She was expert, not just at glass, but also at teaching, and was great at working around my mobility limitations. We meet Kyle right outside of the studio by their Woodshop stand sign. We walked down a ramp and to the last suite on the left (I believe). The shop smelled like fresh wood chips and had great circulation. We learned so much from Kyle and appreciate his patience as he tried to test our math/fraction abilities haha. But even with the math, Kyle made it felt easy and informed us of the power tools and made the machines less scary. It was such a great experience and our bookshelves turned out sooo great! We gained more than just bookshelves but confidence in building and a spark for ideas for the next projects. My wife will be joining the intermediate class and build more things for our home. So happy a studio like this exists!

Center for the Arts Evergreen is now celebrating 50 years of operations (2025). The facility has…read moreexpanded during my years in Colorado from a small cabin near the Buchanan Park Recreation Center to the repurposed church that is its current location. The Phase II expansion completed in June 2024 has greatly enlarged the facility with community spaces, classrooms, artist studios, an artist-in-residence program, and a state-of-the-art ceramics studio. CAE sees its mission as a community hub, hosting ten annual art exhibits, a wide variety of children's and adult classes and workshops, summer camps, and mentorships. There is also a concert series, community rental spaces, arts festivals, an elegant gift shop showcasing local artists, and many community outreach initiatives. I visit the gallery when I come to Evergreen. It is a nice exhibit space and has presented many interesting shows over the years, featuring material of local, regional, and national scope.

So I phoned after the new year, no answer, so I left a message asking what's going on? Nothing. I'm considering asking for my $158 back. In the age of phones, texts and emails, there's no excuse for this lack of communication on their part. I am one unhappy camper. Done in three or four days, she said. Should have been weeks.
