I just said I'm picking up a machine... I never wanted to take a psych patient home.... The lady who gave me the sleep study was very kind though. Even though it's really bad and horribly mismanaged, I do have to say they are the kindest doctors I've met. I'm calling in the morning about my dead sleep study though... supposed to be returned tomorrow but I don't even get to do the test it's absolutely ridiculous. There should never be this level of mismanagement anywhere let alone a hospital.... Someone needs to get this staff some help... they're kind just horribly understaffed... Edit: went back today and they were really nice about everything and the lady's there today were very knowledgeable. Doubtful at first, double checked to make sure it actually wasn't working gave me a new one and actually explained it

Sent me 10 minutes later for one scan , not the chest X-ray. An hour passes and I press the button again and asked about the chest XRay and they acted bothered, then 10 minutes later was sent for the chest XRay. Doctor finally discharged me7 or 8 hours later (which I get can be normal if they're busy...this was not the case). He printed my discharge paperwork and said he would let the nurse know to remove my IV and give me the discharge instructions. 20 minutes later I had to remove all of my monitors and walk to the nurses station and the women are all sitting around on their phones gossiping. I asked if someone could remove my IV. The charge nurse came in finally and I voiced my concerns with why the heck it took so long all night and then another 20 minutes and no one bothered to come help me get discharged. She decided it would be appropriate to say, "Since you are being particular, it's actually only been 17 minutes". Great care... I would probably still be there if I hadn't forced them to get up off of their phones. Horrible experience. It only takes a little bit of effort to give a crap about your job.

I walked in (no appointment needed) and signed in on the sign-up sheet. A woman that worked there told me to "just sit down and they'll call you". I started to sit and before I got onto the chair they called me in. It was maybe 3 minutes from top to bottom! The person drawing the blood (wish I remembered her name...) literally had a needle in my vein immediately and got the blood she needed. The whole visit took about 10 minutes max! I can't say enough about how efficient it all was. Granted, they could be much busier at other times and it might take longer but I was impressed. A+

I have to say i was a little confused as to how to rate this so called hospital…read more My son was very sick and has AHN insurance. My wife took him to AHN Mccandless Hospital. The nurses and doctors where fine the receptionists where fine as well. My problem is that they call it a hospital when it really is just a big urgent care facility. After blood work and testing the doctor said that they where not capable of diagnosing my sons problems as they do not have any specialty doctors on staff. What the heck no specialty doctors why even call yourself a hospital???????. The doctors said they where going to transfer him to Wexford Hospital. I do not get it they do thousands and thousands of dollars in tests only to say they can't do anything to help. Then to boot some one is paying for an ambulance to transfer him to the other hospital. If I was you I would avoid this so called hospital like the plague. I will be sure to never go here again. This is not a hospital so do not be fooled into thinking it is. If you have basic problems I am sure they can help, But anything remotely serous there is no way for them to help you. I must say again please do not go here unless you have no serious problems. With that said It was our fault for going here. I would normally give one star but the nurses and even the doctors where very nice even if they could not help. Normally for this level of care I would probably give 3-4 stars. Overall I will give 2 stars which is very generous.

Heritage Valley Sewickley - This was supposedly a PICO bandage. As you can see, it was standard drugstore gauze, with NO SEAL

I, as sole caregiver, despite the repeated and loud requests of my partner, am FORCEFULLY EXCLUDED from the recovery steps MANDATORY BY THE CAREGIVER, and my presence being the ONLY REASON for discharge. THE NURSING STAFF REFUSES TO INCLUDE ME. For the most recent shoulder replacement, the surgeon place a PICO bandage and gave STRICT INSTRUCTIONS IT NOT BE REMOVED FOR 7 DAYS. I did not receive these instructions until 3 days after surgery, via mail with bandages and collagen supply. It ends up, that the nursing staff was displeased, heavily, letting me know with there words and stares, with my partner and I agreeing with a commentator on CNN in her private hospital room. It further ends up the the NURSES RIPPED OFF THE BANDAGE, as my partner recalls being woken from her sleep. The NURSES gave her care instructions EXCLUDING ME HER SOLE CAREGIVER, while she was STILL UNDER HEAVY SEDATION due to what the surgeon said was ~"the maximum legally allowable amount of pain medicine distributed throughout the depth of the incision while proceeding inward to the shoulder bones, layer by layer". he told me that prior to the surgery. The instructions by mail stated : ~"any compromise of the seal or malfunction of the pump MUST BE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE SURGEON AS AN EMERGENT MATTER" Well, the on-call Office Staff DID NOT LIKE THAT, AND THREATENED PHYSICAL VIOLENCE....a matter already reported to the GPOA board, and pending reporting (awaiting a change of mind on their part, resulting in unlikely efforts to address this issue that they so far ignored with disdain, disparagement, and threats) to the State of Pennsylvania, as REMOVING A PICO BANDAGE WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION OF THE SURGEON WHO PLACED IT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE, in most 1st world countries, and most/all US states. You will NOT encounter ANY medical professionals who adhere to the Hippocratic Oath or its principles on the 5th floor of Heritage Valley Sewickley. The picture below is the alleged PICO bandage for which we received the VERY SERIOUS instructions stated above. Heritage Valley Sewickly nurse illegally removed it against Surgeon's (Dr. Kubik) orders. The Surgeon's colleague (Dr. Thomas) was chewed me out for bothering him on a Saturday late morning. He was disparaging, he was denegrating, and he physically threatened me with his PA named Mark, should I pursue this matter any further. I began truly pursuing this matter at that very moment.
