He diagnosed the problem, tested his theory with some gadget, which confirmed it. He was able to get the needed part from the supply house not far from here, came back and installed it and-- YAY the fridge began to cool down. A very kind and interesting man, I HIGHLY recommend him.

This will be a difficult review to write. I never like to be so negative, however this situation…read morewarrants it. I called "In His Time" repair to deal with a dishwasher problem where the machine had difficulty starting a cycle. The owner, Terry Wilson, came out and immediately diagnosed the problem to be the electronic panel. He explained that LG dishwashers were notorious with these panels failing and needing replacement. This diagnosis was seemingly very easy for him to define, he explained that this was very common. He recommended that if I was comfortable with doing basic repairs that I could order the part myself and install it to save myself any additional expenses. I felt comfortable with his ease of explanation and knowledge of what he was saying. He also told me I should expect to replace this panel every few years because it will eventually fail again. I was obviously disappointed to hear this but given today's state of appliance quality, I wasn't shocked. I paid him his service fee of $65 and then proceeded to order the $195 panel. Once I received it, I installed it without too much difficulty. Unfortunately, it had absolutely no effect on my problem. After repeated attempts to contact Terry Wilson, he called me back. When I told him what I encountered he immediately told me how I made the mistake of buying the part when he recommended that I should have purchased a new dishwasher. I tried to explain to him that we never discussed buying a new dishwasher but he wouldn't hear of it and emphatically told me that this was his recommendation. It was obvious that he wasn't interested in entertaining any other option and rather than get into an argument with him I politely ended the conversation and said good-bye. i subsequently did more research and discovered that a common solution to my problem showed it was probably related to the latch switch. I found I could get one of those for $50 and ordered it. It was easy to install and immediately fixed the problem. So, in the end, I was in over $250 by using "In His Time" to help me falsely diagnose the problem and then when I explained to him the situation Terry wasn't even remotely open to the idea that he might have misdiagnosed the situation.

Mark at Mountain Top is honest, knowledgable, reasonable, and Covid-safe. Highly recommend!…read more When my fridge died and my home warranty service wanted to send a repair company that had a no-mask policy, I decided to go out-of-network to find someone who would wear a mask in my home. I turned to Yelp, and found Mountain Top. Mark was able to fit me in within a day and a half and he confirmed that he would wear a mask while working on the appliance. He and another gentleman came, were quick but thorough, explained the issue, and even did a final diagnosis for me to provide my home warranty company. Although I paid out-of-pocket for the service rather than going with someone in-network, the total price was reasonable and I was happy to have someone be able to tell me right then and there what the issue was and what to do if it happened again. I hope we don't have any other appliances kick the bucket anytime soon, but I'd call these guys before anyone else.

I should have known better; Mark came and requested payment up front for a control panel ($260) plus labor. We paid him $390. The problem was not solved, so Mark suggested another part, a water valve, for which we paid an additional $118. That did not work. Giving up, we bought a new washer. Mark retrieved his new parts; the total parts refund we were due was $378. I pursued Mark by telephone and emails. He assured me that he was "waiting for a box the right size to send the controls back to the manufacturer" and I would have a check in a week. I wrote two emails to him to follow up. Crickets. It is now August of 2026.
