We will see if they give me back the power cord and machine pedal. They were insistent I drop it off with the machine back in March 2025 when it was brought in so I had to drive all the way back home to bring them the power cord, and the machine pedal. The machine is now back to me now that it is December 2025, but I do not know if it is fixed, they kept the pedal and power cord, and are refusing to give it back stating I never dropped it off, and there was a notation as such. That is 100% not true, I called and we will see how this issue resolves but for right now this is a headache, and he had a very condescending tone over the phone to put a nasty cherry on this sundae of disappointment. I went into this store looking to upgrade my Brother sewing machine. Stacey listened to my needs and pointed me to what I was looking for. She didn't try to upsell me to something I really didn't need (Thank you Stacey!), and didn't try to push me into making a purchase on the spot. I went home, thought about what I wanted and went back the next day. I got a reasonable trade in for my old machine, and purchased exactly what I wanted for a very good price. I took in 2 machines today to be tuned up, one being my juki previously purchased from them and the other a babylock that they no longer sell therefore they cannot order parts. David was kind enough to look at my machine to tell me if a tune up was all I needed or if he would recommend seeking out a baby lock dealer before spending money on a tune up that wouldn't fix the issues I was having. I purchased a side cutter from brother at this store that doesn't work at all. It doesn't cut the fabric like it should and we tried to return it back to the store even for store credit. They said no returns even on a useless side cutter that seems like it was used before. 50 dollars wasted!!! I'm never going back to this store, I'd rather go to joanns or Michaels. read more

My 90yo mother-in-law's 1940's Singer was acting up slightly so I offered to bring it in for an assessment. The repairman spent less than three minutes, never checked the stitch, and informed me that he'd charge $75 to diagnose (he said he already knew what was wrong but didn't tell me what it was), or $125 (?) for a total service, which it did not need. When I asked if he'd just take a second to run a stitch so I could show him my concern, he flatly refused and repeated his charges. There was no sense of gratitude that I'd chosen his business over others in the DFW area, no sign of any desire to secure my business, and no apparent pride in his own work. The whole affair was depressing. Sewing is a joyful hobby, and I was so saddened to see that this business takes no pleasure in helping others along. I would have been happy to compensate for any repairs needed, but after this calloused interchange, I simply left and brought the machine home. My MIL and I worked together (I am not an experienced seamstress!) and realized the bobbin had been inserted backwards, a basic fix which any reasonable repairman would have been more than happy to rectify, and would even have instructed for future use. Had really wanted to patronize this local business, but never again. What a disappointment. read more

These guys were awesome to work with. They didn't try to up sell me when I came in looking for a new machine. I even asked about more expensive machines and different lines and they gave me an honest opinion as to why each machine was worth purchasing or not for my needs. The floriani thread there is amazing to work with on your embroidery machine. Tim even tweaked my other machine I didn't purchase from there for me for free just for purchasing one from them. They also don't make you feel like you're wasting their time by asking beginner questions. It was a refreshing experience. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I did have to wait a little bit to get someone to help me as they seem understaffed but that's typical of a small business. :) read more

This is the closest sewing machine shop to where I live. I have bought 6 Brother and Janome machines from them over the years, as I needed machines that were durable and not outrageously priced to teach sewing. The attitude towards customers from the owner & tech has not changed to anything resembling pleasant in all that time. Vivian always had a smile, but not these two guys. Yesterday I needed to collect my embroidery machine, which is unrepairable. I called to let them know that I would collect it 3 hours before I arrived. When I arrived, the tech was wandering around in his area. I waited while he finished doing what he was busy with. Then he asked for a work ticket, which I had not received when I took in the machine. Then he couldn't find my machine based on my last name. When he finally figured out which machine was mine, he said "oh, let me put it back together". The owner of the store obviously didn't bother to convey this information. In the past 3 occasions when I went into the store, there were no customers, so obviously it wasn't a case of too many things going on. So wish that the men in the store followed the example of the pleasant and friendly lady who works in the front. read more

My sister said their classes are great, but I have not used them for that. I went in after being at the lake all day this past summer and I was not dressed my best. Nothing like being followed around in a small store. I believe I can look for thread colors on my own, but they insisted on "helping" me and my grandsons. Just have to go to Michael's next time and frequent a big box store. Prefer to give my money to local businesses, but not this one. read more

I've been to a lot of grumpy condescending machine repairmen before finding Sewing World. This place really stands out for having consistently friendly helpful staff and AMAZING service. They've saved my butt multiple times in a crisis. This time by overnighting a motor for me and fixing my machine in less than a day! I get all of my new equipment here, they're always honest and straightforward about what you need instead of pushing for a sale. They pretty much have my business forever! read more

Well I have had the most disturbing experience yesterday and today! I had purchased a new sewing chair from Sewing World of Weatherford just before Thanksgiving. We put the chair together and I sewed with it for a day. The base will not fit under my sewing table therefore making me too far away from the sewing machine, hurting my back and leg. I called the next day, Saturday, to tell them I could not use the chair and I was returning it, and was told it would be Tuesday before a check could be issued, and even though I had paid cash I would accept the check. The chair was disassembled and put back in it's original boxes. Yesterday I got a call from one of the guys that work at the store telling me that the owner would not give me my money back on the chair, only a store credit. I was flabbergasted to say the least, especially since they had already told me otherwise. He suggested I talk to the owner, that after all he was just an employee. I was put through to Randy Luster today. After explaining to him that the chair would not work for me, that I had paid cash for it, and would like to return it for a cash refund, he said "the best I can do is a store credit, since that chair was a special order." I explained to him that it was not a special order, it was in store stock. Was told that didn't make any difference it was still a special order item.... Are YOU making any better sense of this then me??? I thought not!!! All I know is I need a chair not $300.00 worth of thread, and needles! He would however allow me to add $210.00 to what I had already spent to order a better chair, but would not price it the same as another store I had called that was selling the same chair for $329.00. I brought the chair back home and will try to either raise my table, which is on castors....or taking parts off the chair to try and make it work..... We have done business with this man's parents!! Purchased numerous machines from Sewing World, over the years, but will darken their door no more! I would sure advise anyone looking to buy a sewing machine or sewing furniture or anything else THEY sell to shop elsewhere. If you deal with one of their stores and there are several, you deal with Randy Luster, and if everything goes in their favor you might be OK... heaven forbid if something doesn't work for you!! I will forever ask myself, why I didn't to to the Berry Patch on Hulen to begin with, or order on line??? I guess I thought dealing with Randy would be like dealing with his parents.....WRONG!! FEEL FREE to SHARE this! I would hate for someone else who is contemplating giving hundreds or thousands of dollars for a product that might not work satisfactory for them to end up stuck with something they cannot use, because ALL you can hope to get if returned is "store credit" read more
