The prices were high but not exceptionally high, especially for Miami (and Brickell in particular). The food was good but not exceptional--the lone vegan roll ("green dragon") was very basic. Crispy tofu salad was awesome. I had a hojicha & wildflower mocktail which WAS in fact exceptional. What you're really paying for is the ambiance though. Over the top. Think Vegas casino. We booked our reservation about three weeks in advance for Saturday night (April 25), but unfortunately had travel delays flying in from California. By the time we got to our hotel in Fort Lauderdale (after 5 PM), making it to Miami Beach on time just wasn't realistic with the drive, traffic, and rideshare wait times. We ended up canceling our reservation and took a chance by arriving later, hoping we could at least get into the bar/lounge. We got there around 8:30-9 PM and joined the standby line (only a few people ahead of us). They offered entry with a $50 per person minimum spend voucher, which honestly worked out perfectly since we already planned on ordering drinks and food. I'm so glad we stayed. The restaurant is absolutely stunning, beautiful design, great energy, and a whole vibe. We sat at the bar with front-facing seats, which gave us a perfect view of the entire space. The bartenders were amazing, drinks were phenomenal, and the food was delicious (perfect for sharing and smaller plates). They also had live entertainment, dancers that looked like mermaids, which added such a unique touch. Between the music, the ambiance, and the overall experience, it's definitely something you have to see for yourself. Dress code is strict, so definitely plan your outfit accordingly if you're going, it's part of the overall upscale experience. Yes, it's pricey, but you're paying for the experience, and in my opinion, it's worth it. Coming from California, we don't really have anything quite like this (at least not that I've experienced), so it felt really special. One thing to note: if you're expecting a traditional full dinner where you leave super full, this might not be the spot. It's more about smaller plates, drinks, and the overall vibe, which is why sitting at the bar actually worked out perfectly for us. The overall dinner experience at Sexy Fish Miami was phenomenal, but I have to start with the one thing that really left a bad taste in my mouth which was the valet service. When we arrived, they told us we had to drive all the way down the block and turn around ourselves instead of guiding us or taking the car. After doing a U-turn, they started signaling us to stop and shake their heads, then told us to back into a parking spot we basically parked the car ourselves. At the end of the night, it wasn't any better. They didn't bring the car to us, didn't open the door, and just handed us the keys. Honestly, not worth using valet at all. We were seated and immediately greeted with water and menus, which set a better mood. We started with a few appetizers the guacamole was much larger than expected and super refreshing, it came with crispy seaweed and tempura. The edamame was simple but well done And salty. For sushi, we tried a few kolls. The spicy tuna was probably my least favorite the rice was overpowering, sol'd skip that. The yellowtail yuzu with truffle was good, but still doesn't compare to sushi in NYC. The king crab roll, pretty good | love when sushi uses real crab, and it really stood out. The highlight of the night was easily the Wagyu and foie gras nigiri. It came with two pieces over crispy but not fried rice, topped with foie gras and a slice of Wagyu. It literally melted in my mouth incredibly rich, premium, and one of the most indulgent bites I've had i definitely recommend getting that. We also got the Wagyu foie gras gyoza, which was delicious and paired really well with their "sexy sauce" basically a spicy mayo though they forgot to bring it out with the appetizers so we ended up eating it with the mains. The bone-in ribeye was another standout and I'm not even a big steak person. It was honestly one of the best steaks I've ever had, and I found myself going back for more that I never do even if | do enjoy the steak. We had a side of broccolini as well, which was fine but nothing special. For dessert, we ordered the "Sexy Ever After," and it was a full experience with nitrogen. It included a rich chocolate cake with hazelnut and molten dark chocolate, a creamy cheesecake with a graham cracker crust that was one of my favorite part, chocolate ice cream with nutty chunks, sorbet, a variety of fruits, four sugar coated doughnuts with chocolate ans white dipping sauce. Everything was super indulgent, sweet, and so addictive I could not stop eating. The service was overall good but not super personalized but efficient and attentive. the ambiance is what you expect. I called ahead, and they let me know I could still come, just that I'd need to move quickly since they had back-to-back reservations. Fair enough. The decor is... a lot. Think Little Mermaid on steroids! Very over-the-top, flashy, and definitely designed for Instagram. We didn't like any of rolls but those wagyu dumplings were to die for. My favorite! Drink wise happened the same. I loved something tiki, but the other drinks I couldn't tell you what the name is since I didnt really like them. Now normally I wouldn't judge a place by price cause you know what youre getting into when you do the research price wise. But you expect to like all the food. So for the price, id say its not worth it. The food was what I would call meh. I think the only reason people really come here is the decor and the great staff. Everyone is super nice and attentive. I was dressed at sandals and they refuse me service. What made this experience particularly frustrating was the apparent inconsistency in how the dress code was enforced. While men were required to meet a very specific standard, numerous female guests were permitted to enter wearing outfits that were far more revealing than what my husband and son were wearing. If the restaurant wishes to maintain a strict dress code, that is certainly its prerogative. However, standards should be applied consistently and fairly to all guests. Given that this brand originates from Dubai, where one might expect a greater emphasis on modesty and decorum, the selective enforcement of the policy was especially surprising. The issue was not that a dress code existed--it was the obvious imbalance in how it was applied. The food and atmosphere may be excellent, but the experience was overshadowed by a policy that felt outdated, arbitrary, and unfair. No family should have to split up and send members on an unexpected shopping trip simply to satisfy a dress code that appears to be enforced differently depending on gender. Hands down one of the worst tasting dinners I've had in my life. This is a club it's not a restaurant. They should really reconsider the fact that the provide food and possibly just change this place to a bar or nightclub. We had a reservation and were seated 45 minutes late.... What's the point of the reservation at that point. The service was horrible from the very front desk to the waiters. To top it all off these establishments expect a pre-billed 20% tip. It was another great stop at Sexy Fish the other day. My guest and I decided to stop inf or a quick happy hour before heading to dinner and it certainly was the right move to do. Later in the evening they had a happy hour event for the community, and it was cool to see the bar area packed to the rim but still adequately staffed to ensure everyone was able to get a drink order (or several) in. I tried the Golden Hour cocktail a couple times and the spicy tuna roll topped with filet mignon. The drink was well-crafted with tastes of gin and apple. It is autumn, technically, so the fact that it also was composed of chai swayed my opinion to request it. The attire expected was polished casual/formal with most of the clientele looking great and showing they understood the assignment. The glassware and silverware all appear as brand new as when the restaurant opened years ago and the service was on point. The staff is well-trained and look sharp as well. Had my birthday dinner here, this place is immaculate to say the least. I wish I knew who my server was, but he was so accommodating and had great customer service. The drinks were so strong which I liked as for the food I had the Wagyu and a salad I would say it was OK. I am a connoisseur of steaks so it was just OK but everything else I am very pleased with. read more
