Sexy Pizza is more than great pizza. They are a small local business that does a lot for the community. Their employees get paid at least $18 per hour (including tips), they receive paid time off, healthcare coverage, retirement plan. They are also very active in the community. They sell certain pizzas that a portion of the sale is given to a non-profit in the community, "PhilanthroPies". Yes, you can get a cheaper pizza somewhere else, but I feel they provide a very good product, their employees are happy (why? see above), they listen to their customers & they are invloved in the community. Sexy pizza is one of the only acceptable pizza spots in Denver. Their big NY style slices are BIG, foldable, and always fresh. This is also one of the only places you can ask for eggplant as a topping. WTF, Denver!? Anyway, they have great late night hours, friendly staff and somewhat fair prices. The only reasons I knocked off a star: *sometimes the sauce to cheese ratio is a little off. Too little sauce, too much cheese. Sometimes the other way around. Additionally, toppings can get pricey, if not a little on the unreasonable side. *the location itself isn't great. The seating inside isn't super comfortable--a little limited and awkward, so prepare for a carry out experience. It's also wedged in between a smell ally, and a 7/11 where a bunch of riffraff hang around. It can feel a little unsafe at times to walk out of sexy pizza heading down 11th. Bring a friend. This pizza was TOP NOTCH!! After my boyfriend and I finished our first round of pizza we ended up getting a few more slices because it was so good. The pizza sizes were generous and you can add any topping for just .50 cents! I put my boyfriend onto banana peppers on pizza a while back and now it's all we get on our pizza. The peppers were so yummy and fresh, I would pick them off my boyfriends pizza. I listened to the owner loudly and arrogantly call a customer a "dumb f---ing b---ch" because she had called to complain about her delivery. According to this jerk, the customer had called to see if the driver was close, told he/she was, so the customer went out to meet him. It was below freezing and snowing. Unfortunately, the driver wasn't nearby. When the customer called to complain she could hear this jerk mocking her and calling her names. By the way the other employees responded to this arrogant jerk, it seemed he's the owner. The employees listened polity and then diplomatically told him it wasn't cool because she was waiting in the cold and it was a communication breakdown. I'll never eat here again because I think this was the owner. He was incredibly rude, loud, arrogant, and overall a serious jerk. He was telling the story of what happened proudly to the other employees. This is him in the photo. UPDATE: I emailed the owner "Kyle" who responded to this review. I verified the man who called the customer names works here and I watched him walk into the back. He knew all the employees and was sitting at the table in front of me working on his laptop. I work very close to Sexy Pizza and as such have ordered them for work events three times in the last few months. Service is always friendly and fast and the pizza is really good. The first order was for a resident function we were doing and the pizza was snapped up in a hurry. With flavors like pepperoni/cream cheese/jalepeno or buffalo chicken or my favorite, the spinach white, there are unique yet recognizable pizzas to choose from. I have since ordered for staff lunch appreciation days and we have all enjoyed it. The latest round added garlic knots which were a lovely hit of garlic in the middle of the day. Recently was visiting Colorado coming in from SF, and saw the reviews of this place on yelp so decided to walk over. Had a mixed experience. The service was so nice and polite. I think overall everyone I met in Denver were some of the nicest people I've met. The food itself was good. I walked about 3 miles to grab a slice and wings from here, thought it'd be a good idea to burn the calories that I'm about to consume. Ehhh, not a great idea in the heat and on top of that having to wait 20 minutes for the wings. Not their fault, just had me sweating by the time I got back.
