[[HIGHLIGHT]]I expected a fine-dining experience at MotorCity Casino, and while the decor delivered--chic, upscale, and visually impressive--the overall experience fell short.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is large and stylish, with private booths reserved for VIPs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]That aspect was frustrating, as several tables sat empty yet were unavailable to regular guests, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food itself was decent. I ordered a burger, and my friend had a very large New York strip steak. Both were fine, but nothing memorable. The fries, however, were a disappointment--tasted like basic frozen fries (Ore-Ida or similar), bland and not what you'd expect from a restaurant positioned as upscale. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the service. Our waitress was rude, curt, and sharp-tongued. Her responses were short and unpleasant to the point that we nearly left. We considered asking for a different server but felt uncomfortable doing so, worried it might negatively affect our food. We endured the interaction, but it completely overshadowed the meal. Management needs to know about this waitress. I'm sure they know who has a bad attitude and who was working on last Saturday's evening shift! She also brought me a Caesar salad with no dressing on it, none! Because of the service--and the overall mismatch between the price, atmosphere, and experience--I would not return. A beautiful space can't compensate for poor hospitality.

Recently had a pleasure to eat at this restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very elegant, and the staff makes you feel you're on that level too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very professional at every level. I've had a couple of things to try, and even as vegan I've not left this place hungry. The cauliflower bites were super crispy and delicious, the vegan curry although strange at first glance with beans, it was surprisingly good, and if you remove cheese from the michigan salad, it becomes vegan too. My other companions had chicken, steak and lamb chops and they all enjoyed their food. Amazing place and I highly recommend to try it for an upscale dinner experience.

What I received when ordering "Medium well" :(
Kristin M.

Service is spot-on with some very wise and helpful servers. Sides were incredibleeee and with a table, a great way to try different things on the menu. (Seriously the best mashed potatoes I've ever had... ever.) My only knock was that my steak, which I ordered medium well, came out fully done, and was nearly too chewy to eat. The same thing happened to my friend who ordered medium and she received a well done steak also. Once they sort out the steak temperature issue, it will be impossible to get in to this spot.

Thank you for such a beautiful time & amazing experience! Everything tasted amazing & looked wonderful! From the entrance to the exit, i was all smiles. The staff was polite, very helpful & moved with urgency. The food... oh God. It was so much & so good. Luckily they let us take carryout boxes & not waste any leftovers. It was my 1st time at Revel & they did not disappoint at all! I liked every tasting item. My moscato wine was delicious also. I think my favorite thing from the night was those racked lamb chops. They were beautiful and had an exquisite taste. I'm obsessed with the yukon gold mashed potatoes here. BURRATA AND TOMATOES & the CAULIFLOWER BITES app are my favorites! The lemon cello cheesecake, oh my! I will definitely be back.

Pretty decent steakhouse with reasonable prices for quality food. The lamb chops were a little undercooked but really high quality. Unfortunately there was a little too much sauce in the dish I prefer drizzled on top with a little bit not swimming. The tomahawk was cooked the perfection and was tasty. For sides we had mac & cheese which was average but good. The scalloped potatoes were really tasty and I recommend those as well as the brussels sprouts. Our waiter was very friendly and took care of us even though it took a while for food to come out, but we can't blame him for that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Creme brulee

It had to have been excellent if we came here two days in a row. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The first night we didn't have reservations so we ate at the bar which turned out to be pretty fantastic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think our waitress was Alison and she was very friendly and helpful. I got the filet mignon and the crab cake. Both were flavorful and delicious. My husband got the New York strip and we split the brussels sprouts and the mashed potatoes. I also ended the meal with a crème brûlée. We couldn't stop talking about how much we were enjoying the meal. It was so good that we came here and had the same thing the next day, but ate in the main dining area with a reservation and came with my sister and my brother-in-law. I will say as a heads up that they do have a tendency to overcook so I would say request it a little less done than you normally would.

Cowboy ribeye

Honestly, this place was great. Firstly, free parking was nice, as opposed to every other steak place in the city w valet. The food here was amazing, I got the cowboy ribeye, it was cooked perfectly, my wife and son got the filet and it was delicious. We all got zip sauce w our steaks. Our appetizers were candied bacon and the braised beef w whipped feta, both were outstanding. And our bill was a few hundred less than sexy steak, prime & proper, parc, etc. my one critique is I wish they had a better liquor selection.

Tomahawk Steak 36oz, roasted asparagus & four cheese potatoes
Lou B.

Outstanding experience from start to finish. The server was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. Our server checked in at all the right moments and made us feel genuinely taken care of throughout the meal. The tomahawk steak was cooked absolutely perfect, "just right." Juicy, flavorful, and expertly prepared, it was everything a steak lover hopes for and more. Every bite delivered. The sides were just as impressive. The roasted asparagus was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the four-cheese potatoes were rich, creamy, and downright addictive. Every dish was a hit. Revel Steak delivered on both service and execution, making this a memorable dining experience. I'll definitely be back.

Had a beautiful experience at the recent 20th anniversary Yelp event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Revel Steak has a sophisticated decoration, great ambiance, and beautiful food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was top notch, with experienced servers. I might not come to the casino (or maybe I will now!), but feels like a great date restaurant for a special night or a lively dinner for an elevated family event. Free parking at the Motor City garage for the win!

A-mazing! This is my second time at Revel steakhouse and we had the same waiter as last time! He remembered us from a year ago and made the meal extra enjoyable. We ordered like crazy IMO but it was all so good. My husband had the French onion soup. I got the lobster bisque. Mine was better. I could have done without the crostini but it looked nice for the presentation. It was very hard though. The bread has an everything but the bagel type of seasoning. My husband got the ribeye and it came on the bone. He said it was great. I got the surf and turf and we split the lobster. We also had the mashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts. And for dessert? The chocolate chip cookie sundae thing! Such a great meal!

We came here after a concert at the Soundboard on a Sunday evening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The hostesses said the dining room itself was closed but they we could sit at the bar with a limited menu available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We managed to snag the last two seats at the bar and were pleasantly surprised to find the full menu was available![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was the bomb, very attentive and took or orders quickly. I ordered the Cadillac margarita, colossal crab cake and Caesar salad. My honey ordered the New York strip with scalloped potatoes. The crab cake was indeed colossal! Huge and packed with crab, my Caesar salad was very good as well I just wish the croutons came broken up, it was hard doing so myself. My honey did not like his food, he said his steak had no seasoning, despite also ordering compound butter to accompany it and the scalloped potatoes were just ok. He told the waitress he didn't enjoy his steak and she offered us a complimentary dessert. He was full so I opted for the passionfruit mousse, it was divine. So silky, creamy and the passionfruit flavor came through so well! I enjoyed everything and my honey said he is willing to come back and try some other menu items to see if the steak was a one off.

This was an excellent experience. The. Craft cocktails are incredible. We drank about 6 different ones off the menu and they were all great. Our food came out very fast! We ordered mostly appetizers but we were able to get bread right after ordering, and our food just a few minutes after the bread. The tuna tartar was one of the best I've ever had. The oysters were so incredibly fresh! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is always buzzing and busy. When 5 o'clock hits, the bar starts getting full and many people have reservations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoyed our experience so much that we came back the second night. 10/10 if you're in the area, this is a great spot for a romantic dinner.

Great service and the atmosphere was very pleasant and friendly. Food was great and very tasty. There's a variety of choices to meet your desire. Great place for a date night and there's a bar area for an after work time and fellowship.

We also loved the beets with garlic sauce, the potatoes, and the citrusy carrots, which added a refreshing balance to the meal. Service from Francesca was fantastic, attentive throughout the meal. Free on-site parking is available, and reservations are definitely recommended.

I rounded down to three stars, sorry Barda! I wanted to love it but it was just okay…read more I thoroughly read reviews and ordered dishes that seemed popular and good however, I wouldn't say anything tasted outstanding. All our dishes were fine though, I guess that is why I feel a bit disappointed. Free street parking is great! And when we arrived at 5pm (opening time), all spots were basically full so I took that as a great sign. We entered the restaurant (fun vibe, red lights, music is loud) and were welcomed in right away. I was excited! So the cocktails are great but I would say nothing like overly unique but loved the Margarita (Earth, Wind & Fire), the El Cuco was pretty good, very ginger forward which I like but not spicy at all. The Old Fashioned (why no single ice cube??) was good also. Next, the appetizers: Beets (presentation is excellent) however this dish just tastes like beets (simple and fine), the sauce adds a nice touch but other than that, it was just like okay, nothing special (I wouldn't order again for that price). Next was the Carne y Hueso which we liked. The sourdough bread is not too sourdough-y (good for me since I don't actually like sourdough) and we asked about the best way to eat it which is to spread some bone marrow first then top with the steak tartare. I would say this had a very rich and meaty taste (I haven't had marrow much) which is expected. We liked it. Main: Black Rice with scallops (several small scallops hidden underneath). The black rice was chewy and tasted pretty good/flavorful. My hubby said the dish smelled a little like truffles?? but didn't taste that way (good because he doesn't care for truffles), I didn't think it did (I love truffles). The scallops had a very mild flavor. I would say if you love scallops you may be disappointed but this was fine for me since I don't. Bife- the steak was cooked to our desired level (medium rare) but seemed to lack flavor. I liked the chimibutter and we enjoyed the grilled onion that came with this dish. Overall, I would say the Bife was fine. The kitchen is open so you can see the flames of the fire for the grilling area & the fire pit outside seemed great (on a less cold/snowy night). Note, I think there are 2 separate single bathrooms (one in separate corners of the restaurant) but I didn't realize that until after I waited in a line to use it. Well, I like trying new places, some are hits and some aren't. Thank you for a nice evening Barda.

Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced. So I will have to consider returning for a full meal. I would come back for a burger and beer at the bar.
