I was in the mood for a good steak and had been meaning to try this place, so I finally stopped by. We didn't have a reservation, so we sat at the bar, and overall it was a really nice experience. The ambiance was nice, the service was fast, and we didn't wait long at all for our food. Our server was friendly and attentive. She said she wasn't trying to rush us, but she did check back pretty frequently. Still, the service overall was good. Now for the food : that steak was amazing! I ordered the 6 oz filet cooked medium, and it came out perfect. The whipped mashed potatoes were also so good and paired really well with it. I was starving and in such a hurry to dig in that I thought I took a nice picture of the steak, but unfortunately it turned out to be a blurry mess. The 6 oz portion did look small at first, especially for $55, but it was actually still filling and definitely worth it. Next time, I'd probably go for the bigger steak just because it was that good. I expected a fine-dining experience at MotorCity Casino, and while the decor delivered--chic, upscale, and visually impressive--the overall experience fell short. The dining room is large and stylish, with private booths reserved for VIPs. That aspect was frustrating, as several tables sat empty yet were unavailable to regular guests, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. The food itself was decent. I ordered a burger, and my friend had a very large New York strip steak. Both were fine, but nothing memorable. The fries, however, were a disappointment--tasted like basic frozen fries (Ore-Ida or similar), bland and not what you'd expect from a restaurant positioned as upscale. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the service. Our waitress was rude, curt, and sharp-tongued. Her responses were short and unpleasant to the point that we nearly left. We considered asking for a different server but felt uncomfortable doing so, worried it might negatively affect our food. We endured the interaction, but it completely overshadowed the meal. Management needs to know about this waitress. I'm sure they know who has a bad attitude and who was working on last Saturday's evening shift! She also brought me a Caesar salad with no dressing on it, none! Because of the service--and the overall mismatch between the price, atmosphere, and experience--I would not return. Recently had a pleasure to eat at this restaurant. The place is very elegant, and the staff makes you feel you're on that level too. Very professional at every level. I've had a couple of things to try, and even as vegan I've not left this place hungry. The cauliflower bites were super crispy and delicious, the vegan curry although strange at first glance with beans, it was surprisingly good, and if you remove cheese from the michigan salad, it becomes vegan too. Service is spot-on with some very wise and helpful servers. Sides were incredibleeee and with a table, a great way to try different things on the menu. (Seriously the best mashed potatoes I've ever had... ever.) My only knock was that my steak, which I ordered medium well, came out fully done, and was nearly too chewy to eat. The same thing happened to my friend who ordered medium and she received a well done steak also. The staff was polite, very helpful & moved with urgency. The food... oh God. It was so much & so good. Luckily they let us take carryout boxes & not waste any leftovers. Pretty decent steakhouse with reasonable prices for quality food. The lamb chops were a little undercooked but really high quality. Unfortunately there was a little too much sauce in the dish I prefer drizzled on top with a little bit not swimming. The tomahawk was cooked the perfection and was tasty. For sides we had mac & cheese which was average but good. The scalloped potatoes were really tasty and I recommend those as well as the brussels sprouts. It had to have been excellent if we came here two days in a row. The first night we didn't have reservations so we ate at the bar which turned out to be pretty fantastic. I think our waitress was Alison and she was very friendly and helpful. I got the filet mignon and the crab cake. Both were flavorful and delicious. My husband got the New York strip and we split the brussels sprouts and the mashed potatoes. I also ended the meal with a crème brûlée. We couldn't stop talking about how much we were enjoying the meal. It was so good that we came here and had the same thing the next day, but ate in the main dining area with a reservation and came with my sister and my brother-in-law. I will say as a heads up that they do have a tendency to overcook so I would say request it a little less done than you normally would. read more

Firstly, free parking was nice, as opposed to every other steak place in the city w valet.The food here was amazing, I got the cowboy ribeye, it was cooked perfectly, my wife and son got the filet and it was delicious. A-mazing! This is my second time at Revel steakhouse and we had the same waiter as last time! He remembered us from a year ago and made the meal extra enjoyable. We ordered like crazy IMO but it was all so good. My husband had the French onion soup. I got the lobster bisque. Mine was better. I could have done without the crostini but it looked nice for the presentation. It was very hard though. The bread has an everything but the bagel type of seasoning. My husband got the ribeye and it came on the bone. He said it was great. I got the surf and turf and we split the lobster. We also had the mashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts. And for dessert? We came here after a concert at the Soundboard on a Sunday evening. The hostesses said the dining room itself was closed but they we could sit at the bar with a limited menu available. We managed to snag the last two seats at the bar and were pleasantly surprised to find the full menu was available! Our waitress was the bomb, very attentive and took or orders quickly. I ordered the Cadillac margarita, colossal crab cake and Caesar salad. My honey ordered the New York strip with scalloped potatoes. The crab cake was indeed colossal! Huge and packed with crab, my Caesar salad was very good as well I just wish the croutons came broken up, it was hard doing so myself. My honey did not like his food, he said his steak had no seasoning, despite also ordering compound butter to accompany it and the scalloped potatoes were just ok. He told the waitress he didn't enjoy his steak and she offered us a complimentary dessert. He was full so I opted for the passionfruit mousse, it was divine. So silky, creamy and the passionfruit flavor came through so well! This was an excellent experience. The. Craft cocktails are incredible. We drank about 6 different ones off the menu and they were all great. Our food came out very fast! We ordered mostly appetizers but we were able to get bread right after ordering, and our food just a few minutes after the bread. The tuna tartar was one of the best I've ever had. The oysters were so incredibly fresh! This place is always buzzing and busy. When 5 o'clock hits, the bar starts getting full and many people have reservations. I would love to give Revel a great review but since they do not EVER answer their phone, it directs you to their voicemail box which is constantly full and their website will not allow you to make reservations for parties over 6 people.... I will give them 1 star. It seems that this restaurant simply doesn't want business so I can only imagine what the service and food are like (Most likely pretty bad if it's this tough to even speak with them and make a reservation) . Upon finally reaching a person, they didn't even seem to care that the voicemail was full & then proceeded to tell me they only take reservations for 6 people and under (we had a party of 10 that wanted to spend money here). No explanation no offer of accommodation ... nothing. It may be priced like a high end steakhouse but the level of service is below fast food. This is a restaurant that should close. read more

Every element of our dining experience was phenomenal and exceeded our expectations. Our server was a delight. Cocktails & wine selection was good and high quality. Had a white wine with apps that was chilled perfectly. I had read positive reviews of the crab cakes so we ordered some. I have never been a fan of crabs cakes until now. They were absolutely awesome and definitely a must have. I'd got back for crab cakes alone. The pre-dinner drinks and appetizers set a high bar for the rest of the meal and we were not disappointed. Every single thing about this place from the moment you step up to the Host station to when you are seated and your dining experience is complete is an absolutely memorable experience. Our server, DeAndrea was so pleasant as always, and made certain that every drink, appetizer, meal and even dessert was perfect. Especially those truffle fries! Water (and drink) glasses were never empty and the entire team made sure that our group was well taken care of.. But that's not even the impressive part. This is by far one of the best upscale restaurants I've been to, and I've been to plenty. Not to name drop but, Joe Muer, Eddie V's, Ocean Prime, Flemings,Prime 29, and London Chop House share the same prestige as Revel! Our server Diane was the best. Everything was literally perfect. The drinks were great as well,as you may know, most restaurants have hardly any liquor in their drinks. I had the Cadillac Rose Margarita, and my partner had the Side Car with Remy Martin. We had the crab cake(which is one of the best I've ever tasted and the biggest I've ever seen) and chicken lollipop for appetizers. For entrees, I had the lamb chops(which you get 8), and she had the twin lobster tails. We also had a side of scallop potatoes and asparagus. Everything was top-notch and well seasoned. The lighting inside sets the mood and ambiance of romance and relaxing. It may look pricy, but remember,the sides are sharable(I must reiterate),and the entrees are very generous as well. In closing as a Detroit native,I highly recommend this establishment. We tried Revel for the first time and thought it was delightful! Our server D was so kind! We started with crab cake and the lobster bisque. The soup was lovely, but the crab cakes were so sub par. They were slightly burnt on top with no flavor in them at all, except the sauce on the side they give you. We need some seasoning or something. For the amount of money you pay, they really missed the mark for me. Save yourself 27$ and don't order that. We got steaks that melted in our mouths! The truffle fries were delicious 10/10. The Brussel sprouts were great as well! Also i got the raspberry mint smash cocktail and it was delicious! Very well poured! The ambiance is super cool and romantic. Also, the reservation asked for our picture to be greeted, but that didn't happen. We had to check in like at every normal restaurant. He periodically checks on the guests while they are eating to ensure that they are satisfied with the food, drinks and the customer service. You will find Charles bringing out the food and even making drinks at times. The ambiance is perfect. Eric is a great bartender. He surprises me with different color cocktails. The drinks are good and strong. I bring my friends and family here. You will like it no matter where you sit. The dining area and the bar both have a short wait time on the food. Table of 5 family and friends, nice atmosphere sat at round booth. Our server was Helios, wonderful server answered all of our questions and helped out with what sides we would all like to share and main entrées. The crab cakes are incredible as are the prime fillets. Cooked to perfection. Helios was attentive and took care of all of our needs. We were too full for desert but Helios suggested the warm chocolate cookies. Hit the spot and they were delicious. Will be back requesting Helios at the Revel Steakhouse.
