I should say here I am not the best client, generally a bit scattered and often running behind, and he has always responded quickly with patient, respectful, and organized responses that have been as on-point and helpful as you could ask for. I have improved my business because of that. In addition, he is willing to consult proactively through the year, as business decisions are made. Beyond his tax work, I've found him a great resource for business advice in general, and a very insightful reader of the economic and political climate. There is also an ethical and socially-conscious dimension to his practice which makes me very comfortable working with him. I've found his billing fair and consistent. Frankly, handing my books over to Eric is one of the few things I look forward to in mid-April. Or to be honest, sometimes May. Or November.

I think I found his ad on Craigslist originally earlier this year when I went looking for someone to help me with my tax preparation and debt negotiation. I met him once to give him my paperwork and get started with things and he seemed like a nice enough guy. Then when my process went nowhere after sending him a $300 retainer I got cold feet and decided to take my business to someone more competent. Good thing I did. It took me over a month to get my tax papers back so I could turn them over to my new preparer. Then, after politely asking for some sort of refund from the original retainer payment, (since he did no work for me whatsoever) he continually assured me it was forthcoming. It never came. I don't believe it ever will. I just hope I can dissuade anyone else from hiring this "firm". I tried looking up whether or not this company was reputable beforehand and I couldn't find peep about them. Now, I hope to make it known to anyone else doing such research to stay away. Etaxrelief.com ripped me off, plain and simple. And in my humble experience Christopher R. Jacquez is not a man of his word. Please think twice before hiring him.

I ended up not working with him for my tax services and I'm very thankful for his honesty. When we spoke he explained to me that my situation was more simple than his usual clientele and advised me that I don't need a CPA for the type of small business I have. CPAs have different rates/levels of service and charge more than tax preparers. (For obvious reasons) I appreciate the fact that he called me back when he didnt have to. Since he didnt really intend on winning over my business. I also appreciate that he didnt try to charge me his normal rates for a task that would have been child's play for him. I shopped around and many other CPA's tried to charge me between $700-1k with financial planning when I'm doing fine with my plans and just need help with filing my taxes.

Despite contacting them repeatedly for three months, I have received no response. Because of their negligence, I now owe even more due to late fees.
