I am sorry to say I have never had a worse experience. My family and I had been using a local Tax company since 2001. This company was outstanding. Unfortunately he retired and sold his book of business to Hunter. My family and I should have switched yet we trusted the new company. This was a very poor decision on our part. In my 45 years of doing my yearly taxes this was the worst experience ever! Their personal touch, lack of communication and overall professionalism was unacceptable. These guys try to help but really I am disappointed with the fact that I originally came to them in September of last year for help with my books as I had to find a new bookeeper and things got delayed with meetings (they rescheduled) and I had to wait. I then needed to get them up to speed on my books which took time and then it became a process to get everything back. It's March now and I still don't have my 1099s done and I am being told they aren't necessary now as it is too late to file them. I now have to fire them as I was basically told to communicate via email only (cell phone or not , you should be able to call your bookeeper , especially if they initiate texts with you) so please don't send mixed messages to your clients and then scold them for not responding the way you want them to. I see good reviews and not so good reviews on here and I was questioning them at first but not anymore. read more

Although I only had a relatively simple tax return question, the office was able to schedule me in to talk with a tax consultant in person on the same day. Friendly, thorough, and smart! I decided to try and find an accountant after doing my taxes myself for years. My husband and I met with Aaron prior to tax season to explain our situation. I have a large student loan (veterinarian) and pay based off my income taxes. We explained this to Aaron and he said he can properly file our taxes to reflect our needs. 1) he didn't process our returns for direct deposit, so had to wait longer for snail-mail refunds. 2) I didn't receive my federal tax return and the online status said that it wasn't processed and couldn't be found. I reached out to Aaron for assistance and he said he could help after the tax season was over. This was January. 3) Follow up to filing taxes for 2020, and I stopped working for most of the year due to COVID and having a baby. We asked Aaron based on these changes, and my student loans what would be the best way to file. He responded that he couldn't help us navigate the options. After putting it out there on a veterinarian forum, everyone agreed that a CPA should be able to punch in the different options to determine what would be the best way to file based off my income and my loan status. Aaron disagreed and then proceeded to tell me that he was not responsible for me choosing my income base repayment status. He may work well with others, but he was very unprofessional to others beyond our first visit. I still have received my federal tax refund, which I had to navigate without Aaron's assistance... because I only paid him to file the taxes and I guess that was it. Aaron cannot handle navigating through student loan options as he is not used to them, which I guess is because his clients our better off than us and never expect to ask follow up questions until after tax season is over. Going to be looking for a CPA that's professional, knowledgeable and courteous for next tax season, as Aaron Hunter was none of these. read more

Aaron is probably, THE COOLEST and BEST CPA out there...highly likely. He is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful at times you would not believe. In previous years, I would do my own taxes or ask a buddy of mine to do so. I then invested in crypto...in December 2017...at the top of the market. The worst move I ever made. Did some research regarding taxes and knew I had to file. Had a hard time finding someone who knew how to deal with crypto and one that was not completely booked! In comes Aaron with only a few days left until the filing deadline. We scheduled a meeting and I expected the usual Q&A, hand over the paper work, and so on. What he did next was probably the most amazing thing a CPA could ever do. He said, "OK...I'm gonna do your taxes now." He turned around and after some time, churned it out right in front of me. I doubt anybody else would have done that. I went home with my Crypto tax weight lifted off of my shoulders. I was so impressed by his work and genuine personality, I went back to him for my 2018 taxes...along with 2018's crypto. We even have an on going joke..."LAMBO TIME!!!" lol. I've used Aaron to do my taxes for the past few years and I could not be happier! The first year we came to him my husband and I had already attempted our tax return using turbo tax but we're coming out owing a large amount. My husband had started a consulting businesses on the side in addition to his tech job. That, along with the cashing out on some equity from stock as the company he worked for had gone public, was making our taxes extra complicated. We knew were probably missing some money saving opportunities so we decided to give Aaron a try. We're so glad we did! He is very intelligent and skilled at what he does.
