This is your one stop store for all your Asian groceries. I can easily spend hours shopping through their aisles. There are so many items I have never seen before. Their Seafood department is amazing with so many varieties of live Fish, Crabs and Lobster. I especially like their Produce department . Today, they had cases of Atulfo Mango 18 count for $10, of course I could not resist it and bought a couple cases. Went to get my usual Asianstore grocery supplies of fresh vegetables and fresh noodles, sauces, vinegars and such! Their prices are great and it is worth heading to the other side of town for their prices. The selection here is much larger for most items than the other markets in Fresno. In the vegetable section there is always a guy there that is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond with answering questions about unknown items to me, and giving recommendations of flavor profiles I may be unfamiliar with or I'm looking for that will match the dish I'm am describing. I always appreciate seeing his smiling face! I've never noticed before today, but there is a sign in the back near the meat counter that reads that they will fry your fish for you at no charge. That is something I will have to read reviews on and ask about! I love that they have two and go pay, I forgot my cards at home and was able to thankfully use tap and pay with comfort and ease. Awesome selection of foods from many different Asian countries. The prices weren't outrageous and I was able to find the items I was looking for. I spent a ton of time in here just to try to get an idea of what all they carried, and I could have spent more. The only disappointment was the chicken thighs I bought from the butcher went bad after 3 days even when the label said they should be good for three more, so we had to throw them out. We enjoyed all the other items we bought there, and I don't blame the store for the chicken. Just be sure to buy stuff you're going to use right away if it's fresh meat like that. read more

It's hit or miss with live seafood in Alaska like lobster, Dungeness crab, and so when traveling in California and we've been having good luck with live seafood and it's been typically found at Asian Markets. We called and found they had Live Lobsters. Being Valentine's Day and out of town I know how to steam them and we had a kitchenette in our Residence Inn. We picked up 2 lobsters, butter, and potatoes. Made a makeshift steamer and cooked 5.25 lbs of lobster at the hotel! The live seafood tanks are in the back of the supermarket. read more

Large Asian supermarket. This is my go to as it's near my home and I can find anything here for cooking in an Asian household. I purchased a wok from them that I love. My kids love it too as we do cook a lot of stir fry. There's fresh fruits. A variety of seasonings. And lots and lots of Asian snacks. Service is fast and items are easy to find. This place was good for what we needed, but, it is not in the best neighborhood and it's not kept very well. Walking into the store, it felt like I was walking into an indoor swap meet of some kind. Lots of fresh produce not found in your local stores from purple yam, fresh soursop, donut peaches, all kind of greens found in a traditional Asian home , spices, tripe great prices on beef goat and lamb even chicken feet! isles and isles and ISLES! of goods ! I came here with intentions to get siopao ( steamed filled buns ) and boy oh boy this place has so many goodies I use with my Caribbean background that I ended up with a basketful by the end of the visit ! today at 6 pm I paid at counter 2. the person who paid the bill was the manager, she scanned the price and asked me to take the bag and put it in. I asked why I had to do it while the other cashiers left their things. Wrapped it up for the customer. She said you wanted me to drop it in, right? ok I'll put it in for you. Couldn't decide if this place was Ok (3 stars) or Good (4 stars) based on the experiences. There are good quality of products and reasonable prices, but limited on varieties of goods due to having to accommodate vast variety of Asian ethnic cuisine like Polynesians, Japanese, Pilipino, Vietnamese, Indian, Chinese, and other Asian cuisines. Their products are plentiful and have better quality control along with logistics in-store. Plenty of room to move around and cashier to tackle customers if line queues are taking too long. Some products will be placed in aisles you may need to search longer for, like shrimp paste. These aren't found in the condiment aisle. It's found in the tofu aisle. No rice cooker sold. And again, equipment/utensil are very limited. Asian snacks are plentiful. Recommend purchasing Indian grocery at an Indian market for accessibility if your grocery item is difficult to find at SF Supermarket and reasonable price. There's one off of Clovis and E. Canyon Rd, called Apna Bazar. Also, their price is good, and if not, still reasonable. SF Supermarket isn't too crowded like Asia Market, but they have better trained staffs, quality controls, and space to move/logistics. They accommodate most Asian's cuisines despite the lack of products. And their meat department are plentiful and safe. So I recommend this grocery store as a one and done deal for Asian cuisine. But I also prefer suggesting you to conduct recons at your local grocery stores too! May be you can find items for a better deals or other conveniences. read more

There are a good amount of Asians in Fresno/Clovis--although not as much as the Bay Area, there is enough to warrant a few Asian Supermarkets. This is the most recent to open in the area an probably a familiar name for those from the bay or SoCal. SF aka Shun Fat supermarket is in the valley. Mind you there are a good amount of choices in the Fresno/Clovis area: Asia Supermarket, RN Market, Island Pacific Supermarket are other big players in the game. Then you have some smaller ones: Golden Bowl, Korea Mart, Bingo Grocery, Golden Apple and Fil-Am Oriental Market. But SF Supermarket is probably the most grand. It is the biggest and complete Asian supermarket here. They have a very big meat area, seafood area, and produce. It has been consistently clean and organized so they do a good job. Prices are very competitive, and I wouldn't say the prices are higher than others, but you have to know the current trends of prices and if you shop at markets before there will always be sales. Since I have went they do not have any hot food section as of yet, but rumors has it that is changing? Whatever type of Asian you are: Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, etc you should find what you are looking for here if you can't find it at American supermarkets. read more

I experienced by far one of the top 5 most terrible customer service experiences today. Went there with my daughter earlier this evening and grabbed a cart but noticed there wasn't any hand sanitizer left- just an empty bottle. We couldn't sanitize our hands. I asked a nearby cashier if she can help since they were out. To my utter shock and disbelief, she refused- stating she is only a cashier and it isn't her responsibility. I had to ask her again because I couldn't believe what I just heard. Eventually, I asked if I can get her help with finding someone who can, to which she also said no! Maybe even a manager? Or anyone else who can speak more English? Anyone? Her answers were all still no as she walked away from me, shaking her head. I spotted a security guard 3 registers down and called him over for his help. Frustrated over the incident, I explained what was happening and if he can help me get some hand sanitizer. Instead, I was met with, "Ma'am- you need to calm down. You are being aggressive." Unbelievable. That's the fastest way to get someone who's already calm angry! I decided it wasn't worth my time to deal with these people anymore, expressed my apologies to the security guard for supposedly overreacting and only then did HE, not any of the store staff, get some hand sanitizer for us to use. I ended up at that same cashier's register and she made no attempts to make any eye contact or even utter a word, except the total. What poor service. Train your staff better. read more

Walking around Costco with a friend in the middle of the angsty pandemic summer of 2020, we had stopped the cart in front of some coconut water to check my shopping list on my phone. A nice older gentleman who was maybe missing the pre-Covid socializing that used to fill up his day saw us and started talking about how much better the juice of whole young coconuts was. He was trying to remember the name of SF supermarket, and did spend quite a bit of time talking about how it might be connected to another market in SF, and how you could buy cases of coconuts to have everyday instead of the bottled stuff. It was admittedly a slightly awkward conversation as I really wanted to finish shopping and go home, but also really appreciated this guy trying to give local tips to two kids who just moved to Fresno. After swiping around a map on his phone for a while, he finally found the name of "SF supermarket." I thanked him, but he insisted that I *had* to write down the name and address so I wouldn't forget. After all that hype, how could I not check this place out? The store had quite a number of people walking around when I went on a weekend afternoon. There were only a couple registers open, each with at least 3-4 people in line. There was a decent assortment of produce; more variety than some of the other Asian grocery stores in Fresno, but less volume than what you'd find around SGV. The sauce aisles were great, and I was able to pick up a few jars of my pantry staples. I was also happy to find rice flour and tapioca flour here to make some kimchi pancakes. I called before coming in to buy some live Manilla clams. Cashier told me the workers are setting up so they can't take my call. Ugh, so they transfered me to some lady in guessing the manager. The lady who answered the phone ask what I was looking for, I said live Manilla clams. She then said we do have it. Then behold upon arrival I get there talked the guy at the counter he said we are out till tomorrow. Just wasted my gas on the trip there. There is a reason why I called before going there.
