The salon itself is super clean, bright and welcoming. I especially love that they have Oribe products. We were offered something to drink and of course we went with the champagne! We were sipping on that while we got our hair blown out and it was such a nice touch! My stylist listened to exactly what I want and it came out perfect! I don't think I've ever felt softer hair on my head before! I couldn't stop running my hands through it! For those of us retired that regularly come in that is just out of my price range. In checking the surrounding area, it is not the standard to charge for gloss and blowout. In addition, no one had said upon booking that tips had to be in cash or that the blowout or gloss were additional charges. Lucky for Danielle I had cash that day. It is a real inconvenience to have to carry cash . Danielle did a great job but I regularly go in for services and the salon charges are cost prohibitive and not the norm for the area. Last Saturday, I went to the salon for a blunt bob haircut (see attached the inspo picture). While the stylist technically cut my hair into a bob, it was not the haircut I asked for. She removed a significant amount of my hair by heavily thinning it out without ever informing me, asking for my consent, or discussing it with me. That was never something I requested, and it completely changed the look and feel of my hair. It's also worth mentioning that I've been getting this exact haircut for the past eight years, and I have never had a single issue. This isn't my first bob, and I know exactly how it's supposed to look and feel. Never before has a stylist excessively thinned out my hair without discussing it with me or asking for my permission. I left the salon thinking something felt off, and once I got home, I realized just how different my haircut was from what I had asked for. I felt devastated, frustrated, and completely blindsided. I take great care of my hair, and seeing it so over-thinned was heartbreaking. I honestly cried for two days because of it. I called the salon, the staff followed up with me after I reached out, and I appreciated their communication. However, I was told that the owner would be the one addressing the situation. Unfortunately, my conversation with the owner made an already upsetting experience even worse. Throughout the call, I felt completely dismissed and gaslit. There was no empathy, no accountability, and no acknowledgment of how I was feeling. Instead, I felt like he controlled the entire conversation and repeatedly invalidated my concerns. When I told him I had been crying for two days because of my haircut, his response was essentially, "Really? You're crying over this?" That comment made me feel embarrassed and foolish for expressing how much this affected me. Also expressed that he does not want me as a client. As a salon owner, you should understand that while it may be "just hair" to you, it is MY hair. You don't know how much time, effort, and care I've invested over the years to keep it healthy. Having that changed without my knowledge or permission was incredibly upsetting. Rather than listening, the owner insisted that I got the haircut I asked for and said he didn't think it was a bad haircut. That completely misses the point. My issue is not whether he personally likes the haircut... it's that my hair was altered in a way I never agreed to. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. A mistake can happen, but the way a business responds afterward says everything. I left feeling unheard, invalidated, and blamed for my own reaction. I cannot recommend this salon based on my experience.

In my first year or so of keeping my hair at a pixie cut length, which requires a haircut every 5 weeks, no one has cut my hair as well as Sarah. Even better than the first time I cut all of it off, which was at a fancy Boston salon for $80. Sarah does a PERFECT cut and style for a reasonable price (I think she was promoted to $52 recently). If you refer friends to her or any of the stylists, both you and the friend get $25 off. Plan to book a week in advance with her, I'm not the only one who likes Sarah! A feminine pixie cut is not easy. One wrong snip and it shows, as I've had some really terrible cuts elsewhere. But I think if a salon/stylist can make it this flawless, it shows how high quality their service is across many hairstyles. I saw people with all sorts of hairdos in that salon and it's always busy, which is a good sign!

Even when I don't want a huge change in style, but looking for something slightly different, my hairdresser - Cheryl - always know just what to do to style it for a little extra something without going overboard. It's also so great that she really listens to what I want and is always spot on with her execution. And she's very familiar with the way my hair reacts and behaves, so she's very in tune to what needs to be done. Aside from the hair care, I always love what a welcoming environment this salon is; the staff is always so good and friendly with their clients like the local hangout. I feel as though a lot of salons do miss this aspect. Also appreciated is the fact that there's always a plethora of current magazines. It's also right across the street from The Grove and Bagelmasters, so I can get a fabulous bagel and shop afterwards, so I make a little day out of it.
