Highly recommend! I needed help with my hair after a year of Covid neglect and Nicole provided a smoothing treatment my first visit. Loved it and returned for foils glaze and cut. The salon does a great job with safety protocols and the staff is very accommodating. Gabby does a great job making you comfortable and gives a great wash. I have passed Pure Salon several times but recently decided to give it a try as I was not happy with my current hairstylist. I was so impressed with Melissa!! It's probably the first time that I've LOVED my hairstyle and color. Melissa worked wonders - I will never go to anyone else and I highly recommend her services. First, I would like to thank Gianna for gently guiding me through the process of chopping my long hair that I am very emotionally attached to off. I wanted a change and I knew I wanted it short (8in to donate.) After it was off I just told her do whatever she thought would look best on me. She transformed me!! I am grateful I had Gianna and I will continue to go to this establishment and tell everyone who asks me who & where I trusted enough to cut my long time love. Giving one star since I had no choice. Really disappointed again. I was a client here and my stylists left. I wasn't thrilled with her either, got some bad haircuts. I received a promotion to come back and was planning on using it when I get full service, color & haircut. In the meantime, I wanted to get a few highlights, face frame. I called to make the appointment and was told that would be 5 foils and would cost $25.00., which seemed very reasonable to me. Well I walked out of there spending $80.00 not including tips. I got the 5 foils and she insisted on drying my hair, so I guess that cost $55??? For that price I would have left with my hair wet. I should have been told that it would cost $55 to dry my hair. I never heard of a salon charging $55 for a blow out, totally outrageous. The stylist was so out of it and annoying that I just paid it and left. I could tell that the owner was irritated by her as well. I work with many small business's so out of respect for the owner, I just kept my disappointment to myself. I did not want to make a scene because the salon was very busy at the time. Reluctantly, i tipped the stylist and girl who washed my hair, wish I did not tip since I completely ripped off. With this economy I do not know where they get off charging $55 to blow dry hair! They are in Ocean,NJ not Manhattan. . I will never step foot in this place again, and it's not even because my stylist (Melissa) was terrible (she wasn't), but because the "owner" Nicole is a rotten woman and even worse business owner. I went in this place on the day of my son's High School graduation, asking for "a few highlights, nothing too drastic, and a cut". Simple, right? Well I think the stylist realized after she did the highlights that they were TOO light, so as I'm sitting with my head in the sink, she says she's going to put on a glaze to "tone it down". When I go to leave, I'm told this ridiculous price that I wasn't expecting. I questioned the cost and was told I was being charged $30 for the glaze. What?! I didn't ask for the glaze, why should I have to pay for it? I was told it was "needed" and that it was explained to me before she did the glaze. WRONG. NOTHING was explained to me and it certainly wasn't explained that it was an added cost. I am certainly willing and able to pay for services provided to me, THAT I ASKED FOR, but don't feel I should pay for something I didn't even want. If you walked into a restaurant and ordered a pizza, and the cook put mushrooms on the pizza when you didn't order mushrooms, do you think you should have to pay the added cost of the mushrooms??? This woman continued to argue with me, very rudely, and even went so far as to say things like, "Do you do this everywhere you go?" (Wtf?!?) and even went so far as to insinuate that it was MY fault and MY responsibility to know that a glaze (that I didn't ask for!) was an extra charge, and that I should have asked if it cost more. She was so incredibly rude and unprofessional, and I was absolutely stunned that a woman with this type of personality, with zero business skills and even less customer service skills, could actually be a business owner. All this woman had to do was apologize that it wasn't explained to me that the glaze was an additional cost, take the stupid $30 off the bill, and I would have been on my way, a happy customer who would have continued to return with my business. But instead, she now gets (another) 1 star rating on her business (which I see another reviewer on here had a similar experience regarding cost being higher than originally told), a bad review on yelp, a bad review on google, a bad review on Facebook, a bad review on Instagram, and a warning to every friend, family, neighbor, and community member I can reach that this place, and it's "owner" are rotten and don't care about the satisfaction of their customers. All this over $30. So thanks a lot, NICOLE, for making what should have been a pleasant experience on a very emotional day for me with my son's graduation, into a nightmare. Hope you spent that $30 wisely. And you really might want to take a course in customer service 101. read more

Love this place! Have been going here for at least 2 years now and never have been disappointed. My wife loves it too, and gets her hair cut here too. Susan and Jackie are both excellent, Susan cut my hair for my wedding and did an awesome job. AndJjackie cut my hair most recently and gave me a new style that is incredible. The owner, Nicole, is friendly and and a skilled hair stylist as well. I always wen to barbers, but now I would never go back. I don't know why people wrote such bad things before about Pure, because I love it there and would recommend it to anyone! Prices are fair. Great spot! Give them a shot! read more

Gianna is awesome! Such a talented stylist. She matched my roots for a touch up perfectly & finished with a glaze that blended everything together. She gives one of the best blow outs I've ever had. She's such a sweetie too, conversation came easy. I'll definitely be back ... only 4 stars bc location not the best. read more

This salon is terrible. Starting with the location. The products they use its Redken BUT they refill the bottles with dollar store garbage! Not salon quality products! They do not confirm appointments and everything inside the salon is cheap crap. If I could give this salon negative five stars I would. read more

My experience with this saloon was terrible! i went there expecting a high standard service and i really regret walking in there, i'm not an "ex-angry employee" i am a client who was seeking a nice new look and my bad luck sent me to this saloon, Veronica is the one who did my highlights..a very nice lady but has no idea about hair coloring, she ruined my hair and gave me the ugliest highlights everrrr..i paid 150$ and i received a very cheap highlights,and they fixed my hair with a dark color..so i have paid that money to get a dark brown hair and they took an extra 25 $ !!! not only that! i don't know what products they used as my hair became extremely dry, its been 2 months now and its still sooo dry and totally damaged, i hope they can get some hair professionals and stop damaging women's hair! read more

I have been getting my hair cut and colored by the owner Nicole since they opened 7 years ago. She does a great job and I have referred so many of my friends and clients to the salon and EVERYONE loves it there. Gianna and Melissa are fabulous as well. The staff has great personalities, they are professional, up to date on all the latest trends and do amazing work. They do eye lash extensions, waxing, make up, and all types of hair techniques. My girlfriend and I both went there on the recommendation of another mutual friend who was going there for one particular stylist.That stylist left and we chose to still go.We booked our appointments a week a part and both got the same girl who we loved.We just didn't love the atmosphere.The owner is actually not very friendly or welcoming and while I was sitting waiting for my color to be processed she was talking badly about someone with the client she had in her chair.My girlfriend and I both discussed our experiences and felt it's just not a friendly atmosphere and for the prices too expensive we will stick with our old salon. read more

I can not say enough on how much of a good experience I had at Pure Hair Salon in Ocean Township NJ. I had something come up last minute, and knew I did not want to go with the way I was looking. I asked for a appointment, and even know they were booked.....they were able to fit me in. I was greeted right when I walked in the door, and had very little wait. As a guy I guess I was picky, but Nicole took all the time and set me right up. Gianna was my stylist/ beautician. As being a guy turning 46 and still finding it hard to admit that I now have to using color to hide the gray....I was very concerned about my hair being the right color....BOY DID THEY NAIL IT.....I feel 25 again. Pure Hair will always be the place for me, very clean, even know the place was packed with people....It was great.....felt like I was in a swanky place in NYC.....but right here in NJ.
