For example, I was greeted warmly by Melissa today and she helped me pick out a few new outfits to try on. She gave me honest feedback and insightful styling advice, but with no pressure. She had an authentic interest in helping me find a piece that was functional for my lifestyle and that was special enough to help me feel like my best self. To top things off, as I'm walking out, she recalls that I had a son at home and asked if he might want a small packet of gummy bears. This may seem like a small gesture, but it's more than that to me-- she remembered me, she remembered him, and she cared. She cared enough to offer him a cheery moment (even if she wasn't there to witness or get credit). That's so cool.
