Instead of moving forward with a true diagnostic, they repeated the exact same service (discharge and recharge) that had just been done, and then charged me $285 for it. In the end, I'm back to square one--still not knowing what's wrong with my AC, but now out the money for a redundant service I did not need. To make it worse, I was told I'd need to pay even more for a diagnostic... which is what I had asked for in the first place. Very frustrating and disappointing experience. Be careful coming here for service and make sure they're clear on what you're requesting, or you may end up paying twice without answers. Always ask for Donny. He is awesome! Found a local mechanic that was still open. He zip-tied things down (I mistakenly thought he only used one...) in a few minutes. There was a language barrier so I wanted to make sure I had it checked out by a highly reputable shop after we got into Layton. Found Shadetree and Ryan helped us out, inspecting the work. Said everything is good to go until we get home (about 1500 miles from now), even with potential rain. They quoted my another $1500 for a/c regulators which I declined. He wanted to charge me $150 to look at the door which I also declined. He stated that the door repair would probably be around $1500 also for a problem with the locking mechanism. Final bill was $668 for freon! He charged an extra $150 for the door that I never authorized. I then bought a part for the door ($18) and found another mechanic who fixed it for only $150. I am warning you... Even then, the information we were given did not match the actual timeline, and things repeatedly took longer than what we were told. To make matters worse, we were never notified when the car was finished. We only discovered it was done because we showed up in person, where it was found sitting in the parking lot. If we hadn't gone in ourselves, there's no telling how long it would have stayed there. We were also explicitly told we would receive a discount for the inconvenience, but when we checked out, no discount was applied and nothing was said about it. Between the lack of communication, misleading timelines, holding our vehicle overnight without consent or notice, and failing to honor what was promised, this shop showed a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. We paid a significant amount of money and received poor service in return. I will not be coming back and do not recommend this place to anyone.
