There are also a good amount of teachers that don't follow Accommodations for students who need them and make school more difficult then it needs to be. It is almost a daily occurrence for the second lunch to run out of food so not all students get fed during the day, and compared to last year the portions are small even though the food budget is supposedly more then it was last year, to add on milk is sometimes either frozen or wildly expired, and it is common to find under cooked chicken in the chicken sandwiches. overall, there are a lot of good students and kind and helpful staff members

The PTA is also very active, creating lots of opportunities for families to feel closer to their school community. The principal and teachers are also very good about communicating with parents, keeping us all up to date on what is happening in the school. They are also very responsive if you have concerns. If you are moving to this area and have young kids, you definitely want to get yourself into Adams school boundaries.

The majority of the teachers we have encountered are amazing. Southside is truly like a family. I feel like this school embodies a Christian led challenging education. Campus was beautiful as it mixes in the nostalgia of the 1800s with some new touches of the millennium. Definitely felt the sports town vibe here and the pride it has for its sports. In the end, my boy decided to stay closer to home but the experience at Gonzaga and the Spokane area left quite an impression on us.

For lunchtime their home cooked meals feature whole wheat and also locally grown from Washington products which is important. As I walk through the hallway I also noticed they have a bottle of the water feature for the kids to use it's actually filtered never seen this in my life. In the library kids are able to use a device which looks like an iPad man the luxuries around here. Where was this when I was going to school. Haha.

They don't have enough slots for behind-the-wheel time to fit all their students so you have to wait on a call list. Their business hours are short so you can't reach someone when you try, then they charge you for not calling on time. Their customer service is rude and seems to revel in telling you it was your own stupid fault. When I ask my student daily what was covered in class, I hear "cop stories" again and again. I intentionally selected the priciest option in the city thinking it would be reflected in quality. What a waste.

But he was also fun and funny. I think his name was Ed. If you enroll, be sure you can make it to the classes and the drives. The state says you can only be absent a maximum of 3 times or you have to start over. Also, if you can't make a scheduled drive, you have to cancel at least 24 hours before, excluding non business days. If you don't, you have to pay $60 for the no-show. And, if you need to schedule a different drive after the initial round of scheduling, you might end up still doing the drives after the classroom course has completed. My kid can drive very well by the end of the 5 or 6 week course, and she's fully prepared to take her knowledge and skills test, even though she's not yet 15.5 years old! And I don't even feel like I've taken her out driving all that much - not the 2 hours a week that the school wanted. We will have months to get in our 50 hours for the state, and I know we'll surpass that. I'm very happy that we chose this school for drivers ed.
