They were very busy and for us to have the order put in would've been almost nearly another hour to wait. We had to get grandpa some food as he was crashing fast. Fortunately the barbecue place next-door save the day and got us food quickly. Used to really enjoy the otter and everybody there is very friendly. However no offer to cover or discount our appetizer onion rings and a couple of cocktails we had ordered while we were waiting for the food for again nearly 2 hours. Not exactly the kind of Customer Service I expect when I'm in the Midwest. I will say the onion rings were delicious but since that's the only thing we were able to try that's all I can say and that is where the two stars come from. Never like to leave reviews like this but unfortunately was not acceptable in any stretch and no attempt to try to make things right it was simply ....sorry about that

New Owners really improve resort!…read more We had gone to this fishing resort a few years ago but hadn't been back, but decided to try it again. The resort has really improved. The new owners have spruced up all the cabins, and our cabin was very clean with what looked like all new linens. The view out the window of the lake is beautiful. The fishing was great and then we relaxed in the evening at the fire pit outside our cabin. The owners were great and helpful but not intrusive. We will definitely be back.

We were suppose to rent a pontoon from this resort and he said he would have it in the water for us on Monday, no boat! Called him several times, and left messages, no return phone calls. His wife would always say something but nothing to help us. We finally ended up going to another resort for a boat. We also had to steal the grill from 2 cabins down where thank god nobody was staying so we could grill out. We also had to buy our own TP. It was an ok cabin and nice view of the lake but I wouldn't recommend going somewhere where the owner doesn't say a word nor does he return phone calls. He sent his wife down the day before we left to finish collecting what we owed for the week. She said his back had been hurting and if that was the case, why was nothing said in the beginning. Back then a good resort cabin was one where the screens weren't ripped and the screen door closed to keep the misquotes at bay. Boy things have changed. Scott and Beth's Otter Tail Beach Resort is nothing at all like those resorts of my childhood. I stayed in one of the smaller cabins and it was modern, clean, and very functional. There was a nice complete kitchen area, a TV, and a nice shower right in the cabin. The woodwork and detail was awesome. In some ways the cabin was nicer then my house. When I'm in the area again, I will definitely stay here.
