Watch out for this guy....!!! I bought a laptop from him. i used it for 6 months. The night before I returned it, I called and asked him if he would buy it back, HE SAID "OK !!!". So I brought it in and he said then, NOT EVEN LOOKING AT IT. "NO i cant buy it back" Well I wouldn't have driven all the way there if he would have said "No" in the first place. The hard rive in my IBM Yoga Thinkpad laptop died and I was afraid I was going to lose everything. The folks at Shafer were able not only able to replace my hard drive with a newer and higher quality part, they were able to recover my data as well. Don't Do It! I needed a Hard Drive checked out and they charged me $40 to check it out and told me that the drive had died but they would see if they could recover it. I was quoted some ridiculous prices for recovery (@ $125 hr - 4hr est), back up drives (2 @ $125 per 1Tb Toshiba USB drive) and a charge of a $100 for the backup software that could only be used one time* (*- red flag). They attempted to recover what I was told was a 1Tb of files from 3Tb HD. Long story, short; I brought my 8Tb external and they gave 480megs of files for $80 plus the $40 check charge. I was told I some crap about the drive being set to RAW format and there was only one program that could decode it or recover it. I'm downloading the program- Wondershare Recoverit. And it's only $39 for a 1 yr license and $49 for lifetime. Was it worth it? Hell NO! I got ripped off and I'm PISSED! read more

I HIGHLY!! Recommend this guy. I have taken two older PCs to get restored for my network. (also my laptop) He cleaned,the drives, added great antivirus, reinstalled my programs & BU Files. + replaced a bad hard drive. When he quoted price (in advance) I could not believe it. I thought he was kidding, I have recommended him to several friends. He's honest, he speaks english (no Geek Speak). He has to be the cheapest in town. I must have been on another site where I read a rave review about this place. So close to home I could've walked, but didn't as I had to leave work early to make their hours. They are only open from 9-5 Mon-Fri btw. Jerry (I think) took my laptop in, didn't have the $35 dx fee, I know that's pathetic, but had to wait til payday. So called on payday to give the fee and spoke to Gary the owner. Found out Jerry had completely mucked up what I told him and it wasn't complicated. He wrote down to order a new battery, I told him I had the battery at home and could go get it if they needed it. Jerry had told me the $35 would go to the repair costs, I asked him if it could go to data transfer if it wasn't repairable. Yeah, sure, of course. Except not. They never called because Jerry didn't write down that they had to use 1 in front of the area code. When I called a week later, I got Gary and he told me it was the motherboard & wasn't repairable. He said free the data transfer would be free if I bought one of their used HP laptops. They only sell HP with Windows 7, because everything else is crap. I thought about it, but could buy a new touch screen for the same price and did that. Called back thinking the data transfer would be less the $35 I already paid, Gary said no, no way. It turns out he doesn't like doing that so the $35 didn't apply and he sounded pissed I didn't buy a used one from him. I was late going in to work anyway, so I picked up my laptop. I did buy a new HP laptop though, and found out my old Lenovo was totally repairable.
