We went on a late Friday night since it was opened until 1am (Fridays and Saturdays). Other days they are opened until midnight. The cafe is clean, beautiful interior design, filled with customers through the cafe. We were greeted by staff and offered their recommendation since we asked. We ordered a hot tiramisu latte and a hot coconut latte decaf with a Pistachio Nutella croissant served with a side of fresh bananas and strawberries- super delicious and would order again. The coconut latte was both of our favorites and highly recommend.
Came here at 11:30 PM and stayed until closing. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the café was active and my friend and I were not the only ones with the idea to get coffee at midnight. Even though it was busyish, the atmosphere was relaxed and the noise level was minimum. When ordering, the cashier was super sweet and gave wonderful recommendations. We ordered a hot tiramisu latte, hot coconut latte (decaf), and a pistachio croissant. We sat at a corner table and were brought our coffee and pistachio croissant quickly. The croissant was heavenly, it wasn't too sweet or heavy and a pleasant surprise was that there was strawberries inside of it. Would definitely recommend that you try it. Both lattes were great, the coconut latte was delicious and I would definitely recommend it. Overall it was a great experience and I plan on checking out Shaghf Cafe again.
Stopped by here with a friend to try out their coffee, TikTok has wrangled me once again. The inside is big, very spacious and honestly the decor is really cool as well. I wish I snapped a pic but didn't want to take any pics of people relaxing and enjoying themselves. The barista was friendly and answered any questions we had, the coffee was good just not as strong as I hoped. I did get a slice of carrot cake and it was delicious. My friend and I stayed for a while and chatted and it was the general vibe of everyone there. People were posted with laptops of groups catching up. Overall love the vibe of this place. Definitely have to come back to enjoy their patio when it's cooler outside!
This is the place to go if you want to try Dubai chocolate. The Dubai chocolate strawberry cup is truly amazing. It was filled with a generous portion of juicy ripe strawberries, chocolate, pistachio cream with crunchy knafeh bits. It was so decadent and definitely a good portion to share with others. Service was fast and friendly. When we were here there was also live music and the musician was playing classic soft rock hits. Guilty feet have got no rhythm but they can definitely walk over to Shaghf for a tasty treat! P.S. If you don't know Arabic, shaghf means passion!
Tried Shaghf Cafe on a weekday for a late lunch with a friend. We had seen pictures of a savory food menu and pictures of these menu offerings, but come to find out Shaghf Cafe doesn't really serve much savory food anymore. They did have "calzones" which were basically pizza dough wrapped around meat and sauce. They were out of the flavor I wanted so I tried the buffalo chicken instead. It was very average. I also tried the Dates Cold latte because they indicated the date syrup is imported from Dubai. It had an artificial sweetener taste to it, which I didn't love. My friend tried the Dubai chocolate crêpe, which was actually a pretty generous portion and tasted delicious! The woman taking orders was very knowledgeable about the menu but I didn't really appreciate that there was no menu descriptions so I had no choice but to ask her to tell me what was in every single menu item. The desserts in the pastry cabinet near the register looked old and flimsy. If you're looking for something sweet, this might be a great option. I was glad to try Shaghf Cafe but don't think I'll be returning.
Tried this place out Sunday since we were in the area. It's pretty inside. Lots of black, gold, green and neutral decor. The gold monkeys hanging on the rope holding lightbulbs were cute. Kinda looks like something you'd see on the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland. The owner was nice. He took time to answer our questions and explain what was in certain drinks that we were curious about. Luckily, it wasn't busy at the time so we weren't rushed. As soon as we finished ordering, it got super busy! I meant to order the Pistachio Latte but accidentally ordered the Frappe. It was good but I wanted coffee. Was going to order the Dubai Chocolate Bar but he said it would take an hour. My friend also realized she should've ordered a coffee instead of the Cookie Frappe. Can't remember if she liked it or not. She also ordered a Nutella Croffle for her kids. She said that was pretty good. I saw someone bring out Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cups so I got back in line and ordered one! Price is more reasonable here ($12.91) than the last place I tried it at. They also had a good amount of pistachio cream layered in. There wasn't enough kataifi though. It was only sprinkled on top. I would try a coffee if Im ever in the area again. The Pistachio Crepe look good too so maybe I'll try that as well next time.
Absolutely beautiful inside and out! There was only one other group of two at the cafe when a friend and I stopped by on a Saturday and I wish more people were filling up this cafe. The woman working was very kind and helped us decide what to order and made our drinks very quickly. She even gave my daughter a little chocolate which was very sweet and thoughtful. I had the habibi iced latte and it was delicious! Lots of drinks to try and I would recommend anyone looking for a cafe to stop in and enjoy the beautiful Shagf cafe!
I must say, it was a great experience! This place is a popular Arabic-style coffee shop offering a variety of desserts, hot and cold drinks. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for studying, working, or just spending time with friends. One of the highlights of their menu is the Dubai chocolate, which they prepare beautifully. I ordered an iced latte and a glass of Dubai chocolate with strawberries and Nutella , which cost me around $25--a bit more than I expected, but after tasting it, I realized it was worth it, because service is fast . I didn't like the consistency of the pistachio Creme, it was too liquid and too much bug crumbles, so not sure if will go back again and try this desert, for 1 time it is enough. The café has a restroom, and the seating area is comfortable. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the drinks and desserts makes up for it. If you're looking for a nice spot to relax and enjoy premium drinks, this café is definitely worth a visit!
What a great addition to Tempe's coffee scene! I've had the chance to visit Shaghf Cafe a few times now and it's such a unique coffee meet up. A little ducked off of the Main Street of Apache in a strip mall, this cozy spot has the sweetest baristas. The service is always great and they have so many selections I can't wait to try more. I've still yet to try any of their food items but they look so delish! It's aesthetic, it's cute, it's delicious, and it's got culture. What more could you ask for in a coffee shop!

This is a coffee shop established in the UAE since 2018, and cool to have this here in Phoenix! Tonight, after yoga class, I needed to catch up on some work and I was in Tempe. This coffee shop came up in my searches as closing late and this has been a place on my list to visit, so I popped in around 7pm. The place is very close to ASU and in a shopping plaza with lots of other stores. Ample parking available in shared lot. The place is very inviting and spacious. It's probably one of the most diverse places I have been here in Phoenix. Lots of students too and many studying. I love the ambiance here, lots of cool lights and decorations (including sculpture monkeys hanging off ropes with lights). And the music they played was poppy, happy music, almost identical to my own play list. The workers here are very friendly and helpful. The woman that took my order was very sweet. I wanted to try the karak chai and she gave me a sample of it. It's a bit like Indian chai with lots of spices and not sweet at all. I loved it! I also tried the Dubai chocolate as I saw lots on social media about it. For close to $9, I think next time I'll pass. It's kind of a novelty and curiosity got to me haha. It's pistachio flavored and it's really good, but you have to consume it immediately as it will melt. I didnt know that, so by time I wanted to eat more of it, it had mostly melted on my plate! When it's melted, it tastes a bit like a pistachio flavored Nutella. I enjoyed getting work done here and I sat at a high top seat facing the parking lot as there were outlets available there. The coffee shop has good traffic in and out, was clean and just a great atmosphere to work. And it's open until midnight on weeknights and 1am on weekends! I'll definitely be back again! Great addition near ASU campus!
Overall a cute little cafe. Some friends and I stopped in mid afternoon on a Friday to try some coffee and Dubai chocolate. The interior is cute and it wasn't overly busy but there were other tables of people. I ordered the Dubai chocolate and habibi coffee half sweet. The coffee was decent but still pretty sweet. We weren't sure what to expect for the chocolate but it was decent. I do think it would be nice for a cafe to give you washable glasses and mugs if you sit down in the cafe instead of plastic. Lastly, I understand that cleaning is important but an employee was vacuuming the whole cafe while we were there and it made it hard to have a conversation and really ruined the ambiance.
I came here on a Wednesday afternoon, very quiet but busy, most of the customers were on their laptop so I guess it seems like a place to study or work quietly? I ordered a pomegranate lemon breezer and a croffle. I didn't know what to expect with either but the drink was refreshing and the croffle was warm and tore apart like a croissant. I was initially a bit hesitant to stop in because of the price point, but I am so glad I gave it a try! The pistachio frappe was absolutely amazing, it had a rich, thick milkshake vibe to it, and I've honestly never had anything quite like it before. Beyond the incredible drinks, this place is a fantastic hidden gem. The interior features really nice lighting, and there is a ton of seating if you're looking for a comfortable spot to study, complete with plenty of wall outlets to keep your laptop and phone charged. To top it all off, the service was wonderfully kind and welcoming. I highly recommend checking this spot out! read more
Came here on a Saturday. Not busy at all. I placed my order and was out the door less than 10 minutes. I got the pistachio latte with less than half sugar. Delicious! I recommend this drink for the coffee lovers. I'll be back! read more

We stopped in on Christmas Day since most coffee shops are closed, we had never heard of this cafe but very glad it was open. Very friendly and helpful staff in explaining the expansive menu, and huge dining area inside and out for hanging around or working. Great decor inside and very clean. I only had the Dubai Chocolate but I would definitely come back again for the coffee. Big space for studying. The chocolate was $9 and is taken out of the fridge. I let it sit for couple of minutes and the chocolate completely melted at room temperature. It is very tasty I must say. I'm glad I tried it but definitely a lot for $9 read more
I visited Shaghf while touristing in Tempe area! We ordered the large pistachio frappe and it was just phenomenal. It even had fresh pistachios in the drink. Can't get this good of a frappe at any other Yemeni cafe. It's worth the price! Additionally they had wonderful outdoor and indoor seating that was aesthetic and so relaxing. read more

We stopped by Shaghf Cafe after eating at the nearby Kung Fu Kitchen and I'm glad I did! Did some research on their beautiful logo (photo below of it on a flowerpot) and it means passion or intense love. Pretty cool they brought this UAE based chain to Tempe bringing arabica coffee and Dubai culture! The service was friendly, ambiance was modern and excellent and they had live music to boot! The violinist really added to the Friday night vibes and we spent a nice evening talking and trying their Dubai chocolate which friends enjoyed and the baklava. Definitely want to come back to try their coffees. This is a great place to get some work done or chat with your friends! read more

12/27/25: yup, still awesome! Popped in again because ASU students are on break. The pistachio crepe was divinely delicious, as was the tiramisu tart. I ordered the hot karak chai (it was more chocolate than chai; not saying that's a bad thing, just that it was less chai than other chai drinks I have had. I only wish they had more hot drink options for those of us who don't drink coffee. read more

UAE coffee shop. The sweets and coffee are luxiourious, the Pistachio Coffee had actual pistachio paste and so did the Dubai Chocolate which also had knafeh. The Pistachio Cheesecake was the best out of the 3, which was light and fluffy chiffon! I loved it. The buffet Saturday ends at 3pm and had babaganoush, bread, meat in pastry rolls, beet dip, and more. This was a nice addition. read more

I stopped at Shaghf Cafe this morning and ordered a small pistachio frapp, a slice of lemon cake, a large Habibi latte, and a pistachio croffle to go. I noticed this place pop up on social media months ago so I've wanted to try it. Today I finally did and 2 drinks and 2 desserts for $38.27 before gratuity is NUTS. Everything was good (minus how expensive it was) but my complaint is in regards to the slice of lemon cake that I ordered. It was good, but in the box was the *smallest* piece of cake and I was charged $8.61 for a piece of CHEESECAKE. They offer banana cake on the menu for less than $4.00 and the size definitely matches a $3.77 piece of banana cake. Not a moderately sized piece of cheesecake that I would have been more than happy to pay almost $9.00 for. The decor is super cute and the employee who took my order was very friendly. But it was very expensive for the quantity given. Perhaps they charge for quality but when everything everywhere costs too much, they should offer a bit more for the prices they charge. Stopped by to try the viral Dubai chocolate one weekday afternoon. The cafe is larger than it appears from the outside. The interior is spacious and offers plenty of seating. Great spot for working or studying as it's also pretty quiet. We were greeted by the friendly staff as soon as we entered. We mentioned we wanted to try the viral Dubai chocolate as well as their coffee. They convinced us to get a baklava, too. I ordered an iced oat milk latte with honey. It was smooth and delicious. My friend ordered the double espresso, which was served in a cute edible dessert cup -- a nice touch. For some reason, I thought the chocolate would be very sweet, but to my pleasant surprise, it wasn't. It was filled with pistachios and knafeh, giving it a nice crunch. I didn't try the baklava, but it looked tempting. While the coffees and baklava were affordable, the chocolate was $10.92 for five small bars. It was tasty but a bit expensive. Still, I'd return to explore more of the menu. read more

Stopped by on Saturday with friends and we all tried something different, We ordered: One small red velvet latte One small habibi latte - most popular One small lemon breeze strawberry drink One mango smoothie It was pretty busy as several tables were taken and we luckily snagged the last 4 person table available. We were given buzzers and they beeped and buzzed when our drinks were ready. Since we sat so close to the counter, the worker brought the drinks to our table. My Habibi latte was ok but nothing special. It barely had any ice in it so it got warm fast. The red velvet latte was disappointing as it tasted like plain coffee with milk with some added red coloring. It was not as sweet as the habibi latte and it too had barely any ice in it. The mango smoothie was pretty good and the lemon breeze strawberry drink was yummy as it was very refreshing and cold. In total we spent about $45 for the drinks and tips. The cashier was friendly and they thanked us for coming in as we left. The inside was very clean and beautifully decorated. I'll definitely give them another try. read more
Being from LA, CA Dubai chocolate is easy to find . However my cousin whom residues in AZ that I happen to be visiting wanted to try Dubai chocolate . I started researching and found Shaghf Cafe . I had the Dubai croissant and peach tea, and my cousin ordered the Dubai chocolate. Both are reasonably priced (less expensive than CA) . The quality of the ingredients were very good . Service was excellent the young lady working the counter was pleasant and nice . The atmosphere of Shaghf is nice and modern and clean . I would recommend if you are on a hunt for Dubai chocolate. read more

Even the cups and the baked goods have great presentation. And how cute is the little velvet cake espresso cup in my photos (yes, it's edible!)? The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking in the plaza where the cafe is located. It was very crowded on a Sunday afternoon when I went. Deducted one star because in spite of the large selection, there isn't much for those of us who are sensitive to caffeine, and the cost was really high - the prices may make me think twice before I return, which is really unfortunate because I do like the place! I really enjoyed this cute and unique cafe! I got a chai for $5 and it was delicious. Although it was a bit warm inside so I slightly wished I had opted for a cold drink. The service was very helpful and quick. The interior decor was so sleek and fun! The chairs were comfortable and I loved the monkey light fixtures. Stopped in at Shagfh Cafe for the popular Dubai Chocolate . Located in Tempe in a small plaza, it's quite cute inside. Turquoise blue, gold monkeys and stylized art create an upscale vibe. Friendly staff were hard at work when I visited on a Thursday at 12:30. Half the tables and high top work areas were full with another 6 people in line. I had a hot chocolate with almond milk and the Dubai Chocolate. The chocolate was sweet creamy and the pistachio cream filling was divine! I would have preferred dark chocolate as I find milk chocolate too sweet but that is what is typically combined with the shredded phyllo dough and pistachio cream. If you've ever had the green tea Kit Kat candy, this is a similar taste and so good! If you find yourself in the area do try this cute cafe, lots of students and professionals frequent and I really hope they open a location in Scottsdale!! read more
You wouldn't think this place was cool from the outside until you walk in. The Instagram accounts and the videos they posted is what drew me to this place. Walking in, it's like you're transported to another culture and I enjoyed that. The decor was simple yet classy. They had these skinny tables for two on one corner that was perfect for working and or studying while you drink your coffee and eat your snack. My sister got a coffee and she said it's the best coffee she's had in a while. I had the tea and it was fabulous. We also ordered the tiramisu which was not as great but also, it's not an Italian bakery so I wouldn't expect it to be a fabulous tiramisu. I should have ordered a middle eastern dessert but it slipped my mind. The service was quick and we were given these lagers that lit up and buzzed when the order was ready. The only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 star because the wifi was not working properly even though I asked numerous times what the passcode was. They also had a lunch buffet spread but the food looked dry. It's not a dinner or lunch spot so I didn't expect a restaurant type meal but still would be good for their buffet to look fresh rather than dry and old. Came by on a Sunday morning and it was about 40% full. There are lots of tables and high tables with outlets for folks who want to work or study. Nice girl helped me out and answered my questions. Ordered a pistachio latte and eclair to go - my bill was $17 without a tip! Pretty expensive so I don't think I would come frequently. The pistachio latte had a strong espresso taste but barely any pistachio so that was disappointing. I heard the pistachio frappe is much better with real pistachio paste and blended nuts. They did tell me the frappe has ice cream blended in so more of a dessert with more calories. The eclair was pretty good and huge. I prefer diplomat creme over creme pat for eclairs but it was fine.
