    Adeni Shai and Mango Royale
    Emily L.

Aden is one of my favorite places to meet up with friends and family in Tempe! This Yemeni coffee house offers delicious and shareable drinks, cozy seating, and a variety of desserts. Plus, it fulfills the need for a great late night cafe (with plenty of outlets for anyone coming to work or study). The Yemeni Qahwah is my go-to -- sweetened and with cream, it's the best cardamom "latte" I've had in the area. I love getting it served in a kettle for two. When I'm not looking for coffee, the Adeni Shai is delightful with a bit of honey. The creaminess of their drinks never overpower the strength of the coffee, tea, or spices. The big surprise for me is how amazing the Mango Royale is! You can taste the real, quality mango blended in, and it uses the natural sweetness of dates to bring the drink together. Never expected to come for smoothies, but I'll be back for it next time the craving hits! This space truly has upleveled in many subtle ways since its recent rebrand. Parking can still be tricky on busy nights, but there's never a problem during the day. There are a few spots out back and street parking available along the road.

I loveeee this Yemeni coffee shop and it is my new favorite study spot. I came around opening time on a Thursday and it was very peaceful. Parking wasn't an issue at all. I love the aromatic smells inside. I redeemed my free drink today and got the strawberry matcha!! It wasn't on their menu, but I asked if they could make it and she said of course. Service was very fast and efficient. The barista brought my drink over to my table and it looked so pretty and tasted soo good!! I was able to study productively for 7 hours because the booth seats were so comfortable and there was an outlet. The music was also not blasting which I appreciate. I will definitely be frequenting here more :)

Been here multiple times since I discovered it & I can't stop coming back. This place is such a gem and the drinks and food are so great! I love to come here & enjoy the culture and beauty it serves. Really worth enjoying and the service and dine in ambiance is luxurious

If you're looking for somewhere cozy to relax and study, Aden is definitely for you. It's super close to campus and is right next to the metro. This is my second time here, and like always, the owner was super friendly and gave great suggestions alongside a generous rewards program. The hospitality is great! Onto what I ordered-- a Yemeni Mint Shai. Absolutely delicious. The taste was smooth, velvety, and a sweet aftertaste with a dash of mint. Super relaxing. I will be going here more often- I studied there undisturbed for around two hours. Two considerations: there is no outdoor seating, if that's your thing, and the wifi didn't work for me. Not anything that turned me off from the experience however. A wonderful cafe.

Such a special spot! There is so much thought put into this coffee shop. The decor is truly so beautiful and I've yet to enter a coffee shop that feels as immersive; with the music, and attention to detail, it feels like an authentic Yemeni coffee shop. I love coming here to get work done, or catch up. It feels like a cozy and community oriented place, the owner is extremely kind and knowledgeable, and the flavors and quality of the drinks and desserts reflect that! I personally love the Adeni Chai, but I am also a fan of their Matchas and Coffees. Regardless of what your preference is, the drink won't disappoint you. If you're in Tempe, add Aden to your coffee rotation, if you're not, make the visit! Whether you're just grabbing drinks or staying for the ambience, it's worth a try!

I loved the matcha here! Service and atmosphere were amazing also! Cant wait to return!

ADEN Tea & Coffee House is such a solid little spot. Authentic Adeni tea, strong coffee, cozy vibe, and genuinely friendly service. You can tell it's independently run -- it feels warm, not corporate. Great place to slow down, hang out, and try something different in Tempe. Open late too!!

An elevated experience from the moment you step inside. The hospitality feels refined yet genuinely warm, and the passion is evident in the quality of every drink and detail. The space blends cultural elegance with premium service, creating an atmosphere that feels exclusive but still welcoming. The finest coffee experience in the area!

I asked about ordering a whole cake and she said this was done easily online and just give them 48 hours to prepare. They have a sale on day-old bread for 20% off, as well as fresh pastries, cakes, cookies, and other treats. Most breads and baguettes are made with a sourdough base. There's a large working kitchen off to the side and back. There are no restrooms in the bakery. The bakery is kind of tucked away in a secluded strip mall with a large private parking lot. Angelica says there is a farmers market here every Sunday and every weekend, a coffee cart is brought into the bakery so that you can enjoy hot drinks with your pastries. There are a few small patio tables in front of the store if you'd like to sit and enjoy your treats. I mentioned I needed something for lunch and Angelica recommended the ham and cheese pastry. I chose that and she asked if I'd like it heated. I took my pastry warmed up to go and also picked up an individual coffee cake and a four- pack of gourmet salt topped chocolate chip cookies for hubs, and a cheese danish for me for later. Angelica says the cheese danish is a very popular item here. I was very tempted to get the vanilla almond pastry as Angelica described the huckleberry sauce used. I'll have to come back next time to try that. There is a refrigerated grab and go case by the door with cake slices and cold beverages. I had such a pleasant first visit here. I found a spot near work to enjoy my ham and cheese pastry and oh my goodness, it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious with paper-thin, flaky, glazed pastry sheets, covered in melted cheese and rosemary, and stuffed with warmed diced ham slices. Nom nommm.

(I did not. I ordered a full breakfast and a waffle like an adult with priorities.) I went around 9:15am on a Wednesday--only a few tables were occupied, and the staff was super friendly, gave great recommendations, and the food came out fast. Inside is dialed in with chandeliers, French-y posters and photos everywhere, and a pastry case with tarts, pastries, and cheesecake that basically dares you to behave. The croissant was the star... fresh, flaky, light, buttery... exactly what you want. The egg was cooked perfectly and the cheese was melted into it almost like a mini omelette (loved that). My only hiccup was the "bacon." It leaned more limp pork belly than crispy bacon and had a distinct smoke flavor that wasn't the traditional hardwood/hickory vibe I'm used to. Also... because the cheese and egg are fused together, it's basically impossible to pick the bacon out once it's in there. Next time I'd order it without bacon or ask for it on the side and make it crispy. It came with a side salad, which is not what I expected with breakfast, but it was actually great, fresh spring mix and a delicious dressing with a subtle sweet undertone. There were also hash browns with a crispy exterior and soft, warm interior, exactly the texture you hope for I just wish there were more of them! Because I have no self-control around French cafes, I also ordered the Belgian waffle with fruit and whipped cream. The waffle was warm and tasty, more tender/soft than crispy, and I ended up preferring it to the 'scrape the roof of your mouth' style that most restaurants serve up. The whipped cream tasted freshly whipped and the fruit selection was generous. My only critique: I'd skip the granulated sugar on top. The waffle is sweet enough already, and biting into sugar crystals isn't my favorite texture. For a drink I tried the blueberry lavender matcha. It had crushed blueberries in it, but the matcha flavor was pretty mild and the lavender got lost. I also would've liked a touch more sweetness from the syrup but overall it drank a bit "soft" and subtle. Bottom line... really cool little spot with friendly service, quick food, and a pastry case that will absolutely ruin any plan you had to "just eat light." I'll be back but next time I'm customizing that croissant sandwich and letting the pastries talk me into bad decisions.
