There is a Halal food truck in Manhattan that I absolutely love, but unfortunately, they are too far. I finally decided to try this place because I was craving a combo plate. They definitely didn't disappoint. The lamb and the chicken were seasoned to perfection, the rice had a great texture, I like mine spicy, but it wasn't overbearing. The white sauce, the green sauce and the barbecue all came together very well. I'm sure their gyros are delicious and I wouldn't mind trying one in the future. I love the simple concise menu consisting of gyros, sanwhiches, several platters and salads. I ordered a salad in which u pick a protein *I love lamb and then you choose what veggies you want plus a sauce. With only a few veggie selections,I didn't expect this to be as good as it was. My sauce was the green chili chutney. It was delicious and filling! Then I went for the 6pc hot wings. Super crispy and flavorful! It's new, so it's clean and hopefully stays that way. There is only Small seating area. Customer service is great! I loved that I was able to see the menu and order online. So convenient! This is actually a chain restaurant, so the consistency of food and service should stay the same. And the prices are right. A great value for what you get. Highly recommend this place! They're in a little strip mall so you can find lots of parking outside. Place is really neat and clean. The service was really great - thank you to the lovely Indian lady whose name starts with an A - sorry! I had the combo platter which has chicken and lamb on really delicious rice. I really liked the rice a lot - it had lots of flavor. Then you can choose black beans, grilled onions, and salads, and chickpeas. They put a lot of their delicious white sauce on top. This sauce is like a ranch dressing with mayo. Yum. You also get a green sour sauce and a red really spicy sauce with it. There's lots of really clean seating. Stop, drop and get here!!! This is the halal version of Subway but totally next level. The food is fast, fresh and extremely flavorful. When you walk in you choose your meal from the menu overhead. Then it's prepared fresh in front of your eyes. They make gyro sandwiches, platters of your choice of meat or fish with rice and sides with their signature creamy garlicky sauce. (Yes the bottled it!!! It's that good) reminds me of my late nights in NYC at the food trucks. But again.. sooo much better. So glad we spotted this place! The food was amazing and the portions were generous. We split a beef chapli kebab & chips over rice and hummus with pita, served nice and warm. The flavors were spot-on and we liked the chips (round seasoned fries) so much we got an order to go. The restaurant was a bit sterile, but very clean. This is a great spot. I was able to snag a BOGO deal for their chicken platter and lamb gyro. Both HIT and I'll be keeping an eye out for this place from now on. I ordered to New Haven (Wooster) and the items were still hot. They packaged everything so amazingly. The white sauce is glamorous and huge. The mango chutney is so tasty you should be ready to have it on everything. Red sauce was solid. BBQ sauce tastes like McDonald's in a good way. It's sweet, so use sparingly. Really tasty, and great bogo deals on Uber eats. Just make sure to pass on the "bbq sauce " option, or at least get it on the side. I thought maybe it was going to be a different style/flavor of like "halal bbq" (i.e. Korean bbq, or Mongolian bbq) but this is just regular sweet bbq sauce, imo that flavor doesn't go with a gyro AT ALL. Pretty much a carbon copy of what you'd get from one of NYC's better halal carts, with some additional toppings that you don't usually see like chickpeas and sautéed veggies, and a clean, spacious seating area, which is a nice change from trying to find a public bench. The only reason I've knocked off a star is because they're not quiiite at the level of, say, the legendary King of Falafel cart at 53rd and Park, or Mido's on 6th Ave, but they're pretty darned solid and they satisfied my halal fix. read more

The worker behind the counter today Thursday May 26, 2022 was very rude and I'm pretty sure he's the manager. I will never come back here. This place is so unfriendly I could not believe it. The worker couldn't even act like he was welcoming us, he looked and acted annoyed with all of us. He wanted us in and out. The portions he gave me were so small too, I almost wanted to walk out right there at that point, and he made me pay just to have a normal amount that I got the last time I came! The food is great. Ordering is like at Chipotle's where you choose a bowl or on a pita, choose your protein or falafel, fillings and toppings. The gyros are great. Try mixing the lamb with the chicken. And get the white sauce on top. Also do not skip on ordering french fries. They are larger and crisp. Even when delivered the fries stay crisp. I usually won't eat cold fries but their fries hold up well when cold as well if you have leftovers. Service is pleasant and efficient. There are a few tables inside. The place is clean and sparse. Shah's foods travels well so it's great to eat there for lunch or take out or order delivery. Food comes out fast. You have a bit of a wait for fries but that's good as it's cooked to order and piping hot. read more

Yessssss. I went with the chicken platter for my first visit, figure hit it down the fairway. It was so good and the white sauce took it to the next level. I got the falafel as well to try them out, they were ok but not as good as some of the other falafel I get in the area (shame on Chrome or Yelp for flagging falafel as a spelling error btw). The dishes are very filling, plenty of food for two meals probably. I wish there was a little more room for salad so you can make a more rounded meal but all in all it was a great first visit, I'll be coming back for sure. read more

So delicious. Tried for the first time today and absolutely will be a regular here. Coming to CT from NYC, I always missed the occasional meal from the Halal carts. There use to be a Halal Guys in New Haven that shut down and haven't found a place with such great Halal food for years. I'm so glad this place is only a 15 minute drive from us.
