The BBQ chicken pizza was good and arrived nice and warm, which I appreciated. The flavors were solid and it definitely hit the spot. The kebeh tasted good flavor-wise, but it was pretty crumbly and falling apart, which made it a little hard to enjoy. The standout for me was the sweet cream baklava absolutely delicious! The combination of nutty and creamy was perfect and easily the best part of the meal. Overall, some really good flavors, but a little inconsistency with texture. I tried a pepperoni slice, and overall, it was a bit salty. Also, when I ordered the slice the pizza maker only heated it up for about fifteen to twenty seconds, serving me a lukewarm slice. I used to think this place only sold pizza so had never tried (not a big pizza person) but my friend recently introduced me to their pita sandwiches and dinner plates and WOW! Aladdin hits the spot when you're searching for yummy Middle Eastern food in New Haven. By far the best thing is the falafel sandwich with pickled cabbage and white sauce. The falafel is freshly made to order so that it comes out hot and crunchy. The pita chips are also really good. Mine were hot and crunchy and paired perfectly with the delicious hummus and baba ganoush (eggplant dip). My newest obsession here is the homemade bread. It's off the main menu but if you ask, they will happily make it for you. The bread fluffs into a giant ball and it adds to the experience if you are dining in. The bread texture is much like a flat bread. Soft and crisp around the edges. For something sweet, the lady finger baklava is flakey, buttery, nutty, and not overly sweet.
