Being a new patient I was expecting hello welcome to the practice. Instead I got I need your license and insurance card. The. I need your credit card. Awful awful way to start. It gets better. The woman who preps for the dr is worse. She explains nothing assumes you know what she's doing and could not be bothered. I never got to see dr Nolan because after having my eyes dialated and treated like that I walked out. Prior to walking out I told the tech just how bad she treated me. She didn't care. With such an important part of the body the eyes- she was terrible. I drove home eyes dialated and could hardly see. Don't know if dr Nolan is any good but if the office staff is a chip off the old Block and you don't like being uncomfortable and treated so poorly stay far away from this practice. BTW I was referred to this practice from my concierge primary dr. Whom I will be contacting to explain this awful experience and request a new eye dr. Stay away and find a better ophthalmologist. The absolute worst experience !

Luckily I happened to be talking to my daughter who mentioned that her former coworkers who had eye issues went here and were pleased with the treatment they received. I called to see if they had any appts for the afternoon (it was a Friday). They asked what my issue was and after telling them, they told me to come right over. Now getting there was interesting. I was coming from the south and Waze told me at the Sample Road exit, to take the 2 left lanes and make a left. Well, when you do that, you've passed the place because the entrance is further east. I had to do a U-turn. It was still a little confusing because there isn't any signage that tells you that the first entrance once you make the U-turn is where you need to enter. They're doing construction at the hospital which makes it even more confusing. I finally made it and entered the building. Their office is on the 2nd floor. I got checked in and filled out the required paperwork. They were concerned that my retina detached but after viewing the images that were taken, that didn't happen. Dillon, who did the images of my eyes, was very personable with a great sense of humor. The female doctor whom I saw (I don't remember her name) was also fantastic. She got an eyeball to show and explain what was happening with my eye. I was there for about 3 hours which seems like the average time that I've spent at my regular eye doctor's office.

He is also, besides being tops in his profession, a downright nice guy and a perfect gentleman in the most classic sense of the word. It has been Dr, Rand who has been saving my vision. He performed both cataract and Desek cornea surgery on me with outstanding success. Further with his associates at his Rand Eye Institute managed to arrest the progression of my right eye dry macular degeneration. I hardly have words of high enough praise for Dr. Rand or thanks for all he has done for me. Five Stars for a Five Star doctor!

The last time we spoke she asked at what distance I wanted to see from with the contacts! REALLY? I've been going to NREC since 2013, but it has gone down hill immensely and I will not be returning! Took me back for initial exam and dilation then sent back to the waiting room for another 1.5 hours. I asked the receptionist and she offered to reschedule but was dilated and it had been 2 hours already! I asked again and she just disappeared! Last year my experience was horrible waiting for 2 hrs. Since I am a loyal patient of 10 year's I thought I'd give you another chance and made my appt. a year in advance for today. I arrived for my 8:30 am appt. at 8:20 and signed in, after driving for 45 min from Delray Beach. There were already 6 people waiting, all looking quite lost, with one receptionist, who also looked lost. I waited u til 8:45 and after hearing the receptionist speaking to another patient who arrived well after me, and telling him it would be 1-2 hrs, I've had enough! I stepped up and told her to cancel me, I'd find a Dr. and practice who actually care. As a side note, the practice used to offer a full service eyeglass technicianand hundreds of frames including contacts. Now there're handwritten signs all over the office stating "No glasses, No contacts, Sorry." One more thing, I received two text messages to confirm my appointment at 8:30, which I promptly answered. Then I received 3 additional phone calls over the previous week from a number and listing I didn't recognize (MEDULA & KUBAL) so didn't answer and they went to voicemail. Listening to voicemail it was the Dr's office confirming my appointment???? How unprofessional this has this practice becone.
