While visiting Heavenly Coffee farm, we noticed many of the workers listed Shaka Tacoz as their favorite spot. Parking is street parking only and was quite packed when we arrived. We found a spot across the way and froggered past the cars over. The tacos were good and we did them with crusty melted cheese on the inside of the tortilla. I normally prefer simpler street tacos but these hit the spot flavor wise.

Wanted to try Shaka tacos based on recs from our tour guides. It was a food truck in the Ali'i garden marketplace. We ordered and they texted us when the food was ready which took about 15 minutes. Ordered the ono fish taco plate and a chick taco plate. Fish tacos were ok, kind of drug but had nice veggies inside and the mango chili sauce was sweet with a nice kick to it. The chicken taco was flavorful and we ordered the verde sauce with it which had nice flavor and some spice to it. But the chicken tacos were nothing too special. Maybe my tastes are skewed being from CA.

I'm so glad we had a chance to stop by this spot before leaving the island. The ingredients were very fresh and the flavors of the sauces were incredible & complex. I got the ono cheesy tacos with the lava sauce and every bite hit! So yummyyy!! Service was also super quick and attentive, which we appreciated since we were limited on time. Definitely recommend!

We got fish tacos with sauces and ate them on a bench under a tree in the morning. It was so casual but so perfect. The tacos were fresh and very delicious, and sitting there in that setting almost made us feel like locals in Hawaii, even though we're not. Everything about it just felt right. If you're looking for simple, fresh, and truly delicious tacos, I definitely recommend this place.

Food truck located by the Ali'i Garden Marketplace. Parking is in the lot, which can get full throughout the day. Free parking. Taco truck had a line already when we got there. The ono tacos x3 per order. The tacos were delicious! They had the perfect balance of flavors and texture. The fish also was well seasoned. Service was pretty quick.

Best tacos in Kona! The taco truck is located in a little marketplace where you can wonder the shops while your food is being cooked. Service was quick - about 15 mins! We ordered the fish tacos and the steak tacos, both with the mango sauce. We loved both! The mango sauce just elevated all of the flavors. We considered going back for dinner as well they were so good!

The food was so delicious! We ordered the Birria Tacoz, Beef Tacoz, and their famous Fish Tacoz and all were a 10/10! Definitely recommend

Definitely a must try! My husband and I both got the 3-taco combo and I got a chicken, steak, and carnitas tacos. We also got sides of the rice and beans, which we probably could have gone without if we had gotten more tacos. What I think makes these tacos better than your average taco is the cheese melted onto the tortilla and their pickled onions on top. I also love that they have different salsas to choose from, although it is an additional charge if you want to try multiple. You order inside at the counter, then pick up your food at the parked food truck outside once they text you that your order is ready. The downside to that set up was that we went during a rare torrential downpour of rain, so we did get pretty wet just trying to get our food.

    Tacoz!

The best tacos my girlfriend and I have had in our life and believe me we've eaten a ton of tacos all around the Caribbean, Mexico, and US. They were so good we drove back 52 minutes before we left Hawaii just to have them again. All of the meats and homemade sauces were exceptional. Must stop if visiting the big island.

Came at night and you really have to slow down to see if there are any stalls available since parking is limited. I parked down the road across the street at a baseball field then walked up. The cashier was very thorough in explaining the recommendations and really enthusiastic so it was reassuring, especially since I've never had deer meat. The venison burrito was surprisingly tasty with all the sauces and seasoning. The fish tacos were very good as well. They have a good amount of space and the back patio area is good to listen to the country wildlife. I like the home style recipes and flavor so I'll be back next time I visit big island Hawaii

wow the ono fish tacos might be the best fish tacos i've ever had!! they have a lot of tables and seats in the area with different shops. we waited about 10 minutes for our tacos. the beef and chicken tacos were really good but the ono fish tacos were absolutely delicious!! we debated coming back towards the end of our trip to have them again, but for sure next time. i absolutely recommend!!

Located in a small outdoor area with a lot of retail and food shacks. While we waited for our order, we were able to walk around the various vendors. This spot was in my top two favorite spots during my stay here. It was a nice break from all the poke bowls. Ono fish tacos - the tortilla was super crispy as it was crisped with cheese. The cabbage added nice texture to the ono fish. The sauces and the mango sauce on the side added a nice sweetness and kick. Spicy pork tacos - the pork was very tender. Like the Ono fish, the protein didn't have a lot of flavor on its own so it replied on the sauces.

The Ono Fish Tacos are the best I've had anywhere, and fish tacos are my go-to choice whenever they're fresh. 10/10!

I needed something from Home Depot and they are located right in the parking lot! I ordered 2 asada and one quesabirria tacos. I asked for their hottest hot sauce, which I was told was the red sauce. The order didn't take too long to come out. Again this was an advanced food truck with a remote buzzer to let you know when your food is ready! I guess I'm used to the old school roach coaches where they just yell at you when your order is ready! My overall impression was that the flavors were a little on the bland side, but overall very good. The quesabirria taco was crispy on the outside and with soft melty cheese and moist tender meat on the inside. Adding their not so hot red sauce gave it much more flavor, but it could have used a little more heat in my opinion. Could have also been helped if it came with the consume. My fault, I forgot to order it, but for an extra $3, not sure it would have made that much of a difference. I was very impressed with the little asada tacos. Pretty small, but packed with meat and more flavorful than the quesabirria. Maybe because these came with salsa already applied! That may be the reason. Either way, pretty darn good show for a Hawaiian Mexican experience. I'd do it again. Probably get 3 or 4 asada tacos next time.

They have 2 long picnic tables right outside to sit, but other than that it'll likely be takeout. The parking lot is very compact with a 15min time limit. Not sure how strict they are about the 15min limit, but just be courteous so others can also park and enjoy the food! There was already a line when we arrived, so I recommend getting there early. Their poké also tasted so fresh! Their portions are smaller and prices are higher for the amount you get compared to other poké places... but for sure it is quality over quantity here. I'm OK with that. I'm not a huge ahi poké gal, but they didn't have salmon so I just got it with the garlic shrimp. But everything was so delicious! The seaweed salad, imitation crab salad, kimchi, and kimchi mussels were all good. Fairly simple to order: bowl vs plate (1 side for bowl and 2 sides for plate, 2 servings of poké). Brown vs white rice. Top shelf: sides. Bottom shelf: poké. They also offer a variety of sauces for your poké. They are all pretty good, but my favorite was the avocado aioli. The wet Hawaiian and Pele's kiss were also good per family. Definitely worth trying and repeating. Personally, I prefer this poké place over Pau Hana Poké. Service was nothing spectacular, just efficient and busy. No small talks here.
