Let's start with the prices. They have gone up so much it's no longer something most families can afford. Entering the restaurant you order off a screen, pay and take a number. Not sure why they ask for a tip, but seems the norm these days. The place is very clean and staff keep tables cleared. I had been seeing the Korean menu and was intrigued. Ordered the Korean chicken sandwich and an order of the new Korean style fries for takeout. Wasn't too busy and had my order in about 5 minutes. Not far from home and everything was still relatively hot. K chicken sandwich is small compared to other restaurants for the cost. Not a lot of Korean inspired taste in my opinion. The fries had a small sauce on the side. It also had little taste and a sauce from Chick Fil-A would have been an improvement. With no drink and a wasted 10% tip came to just under $20. I used to be an employee at shake shack in winter park so when I moved far away from that location I was super sad. They then opened this one here in Sarasota where I work sometimes! I will frequent this shack anytime I'm in the area as I love the food. This location does seem to have some issue as it never is busy but there's always a long wait for food. It's always clean which is nice. They have an kiosk where you can place an order. I didn't ever really see anyone at the register but they seem to attentive if someone comes over to see if they need order order taken. Don't even waste your time or money at this location. Came in to eat because I had a free food voucher from the last time I visited... whole different issue. My food said it was ready so I walk up and stand by the counter. I hadn't said a thing and the lady just looks at me and says go to a seat and calm down we will bring the food to you. Hang tight, we will bring it out to you shortly." No no no.... they scream your name across the dining room so that you can come summon your food. Again, why would there be an option for gratuity? The burgers were very good, but small. The fries are just OK and the aoli sauce was pretty strong. It's a walk up automated order, similar to places like Panera. At the end, it asks if you would like to give gratuity? For what? Cooking? So, for two single burgers, one order of fries, two drinks, and a small shake, it was $36! So many better places to get a burger for that price and actually have a server. Oh, the "shake" (because we had to try a shake at Shack Shack right?) It was barely cold. I love the food here and I make sure to stop in every time I'm in the area. It baffles me how many 1 star reviews there are. I understand not being able to edit toppings (unsure since I'm not a picky little person). The burger is great, the fries are better than any fast food restaurant in the area and their shakes are amazing. Kiosk ordering isn't an issue for me, in fact I am able to order much quicker than I would having to wait in a line. Decided to try this Shake Shack for first time in years. The last I was here it was not good. Was solo today and it was just after 11am and walked into a warm greeting. I used the Kiosk to order and pay and it worked perfectly, confirming email and got an update when ready. My double Shake Shack arrived with an order of fries hot and neatly presented on the tray. The burger was cooked perfectly, both juicy and tasty. Fries were on point too. I only had water so no shake this time. The manager (Pat) stopped by a few times which was nice. I may be a teeny tiny bit biased because I was the first customer EVER at this location, and yes, my Mother did buy all of the newspapers she could find with my picture in it from that day, but this Shake Shack is everything that a Shake Shack should be! Brief Summary: To someone who's never experienced it before, the name Shake Shack suggests one thing. That they sell shakes. Duhhhh! But they offer something more than just delicious, creamy, malted/regular, and delectable shakes. They also have their famous Shack burger with that unforgettable and irresistible Shack sauce. Once you've had it once, you'll find yourself unable to resist going back for that Shack burger. And don't forget your shake while you're at it ;) Would I Recommend This Restaurant? Yes The Food: When it comes to any chain restaurant, it's always hit or miss. The food is supposed to always be the same, but it hardly ever is. Thankfully, when it comes to food quality, I've NEVER had an issue at this location. Their QC is excellent, because out of the dozens of times I've eaten here, the food has been fresh, delicious, and up to standard, every single time. At least, they don't make it appear that it is. Either they've managed to use Jedi mind tricks on us, or their service here is still up to par. Wait times can be a bit lengthy sometimes, but this can be attributed to how busy they always are as well, and for good reason! The staff has always been helpful and friendly since my first order and that alone is worth a lot of points in my book. The location is only a few years old and very nice. Parking can be a bit tight sometimes, so you may need to park in the mall parking lot to get a spot. Although this may sound bad, it's actually a good thing. That little bit of extra walking can be your excuse to order that shake that doesn't quite fit into your Keto diet. We all chat sometimes. Might as well make it count when you do! The restaurant is always pretty clean, and the covered outdoor seating can be quite nice. Even on the 364 days a year that it's hot in Florida. The only pain point worth mentioning is that the iPad's you order on in the restaurant usually have at least one or two out of order. I'm going to blame the people who carelessly handle electronics that don't belong to them on this one though, because I've seen first hand how rough people can be with the iPad's when ordering. Not to worry though, because you can order everything you want right from their handy dandy mobile app! Overall, it's a pleasant dining experience that has kept this Yelper happy for over 3 years now! Final Thoughts: The only thing you need to worry about when visiting this Shake Shack, is leaving with more food that you planned on ordering. First and most importantly, parking is impossible. I always say that if parking is a chore (and this certainly is), the food and service need to be spectacular and they are not. Once I found a spot across the road and made my way inside, I was greeted with chaos with people milling around not having a clue of what they were doing or where they were going. I followed my instructions and headed toward the counter. Just before I got there, a large illiterate employee asked my "what your nummer is?" Not having a clue what he was asking, either in content or in pronunciation I proceeded to the counter where I eventually picked up my food. All in all the food was decent, not sure if it was worth the $30 for two burgers and a single order of cold fries. I was not appreciative of how their POS system builds in a tip automatically, specifically when a tip is not earned in any shape or form. Shake shack is great and I love their food! It's definitely not healthy, but when you go, you know you're going for some delicious diner like food with a modern-vibe and big city twist! This location is super spacious, really cool interior design, and the food is always made right! There are of course options for people that are vegetarian, which is also nice! The milkshakes are thick and tasty!!! I usually get strawberry; but last time I got the Pride Shake, and it was so delicious, I was surprised, it wasn't scary sweet like I thought it was going to be, and it was mixed in with passion fruit custard I think! It was also really pretty. Then I got the fries which were tasty, and the shack stack is what I usually get which is a lot but just so tasty and has yummy cheese and mushrooms! This spot is covid friendly for the most part, they encourage social distancing and have plastic walls between each table on the seating area that have back to back tables. No masks though. They also were giving away some free fries if you brought your covid vaccine card for being fully vaccinated lol. Just a fun promo! This place is pretty much perfect, besides the fact that shake shack is generally pricey, and that this location in general closes SUPER early right now, like 7pm, and I'm just sad about it because sometimes I want a bigger at 7:30 and see that it's closed. It also gets a tiny bit dirty, but it's usually because this location is incredibly busy, and there's almost always a line, but the food has always been hot, fresh, tasty, and great quality!
