Don't let the bed bugs bite

If I can give it zero I would, stayed here for work cause it's probably the cheapest and I encounter bed bugs, if anyone thinks that this should be "expected" well I guess you don't understand business of hospitality well.. owner tried to offer me a new room and I asked him politely for my money back he kept insisting and I just handed him the keys and told him I need my money back and he eventually gave in.. if you're in the hospitality business what does it cost to get an exterminator and clean the place up what does it cost to get new beds sheets etc to get rid of a long term problem. Don't go here I would recommend the owner to not open its doors unless he's done everything in his power to go ahead and fix the problem.....

    Breakfast....no thanks I'll pass.

Let me preface this by saying we paid $40 for the room... I will say I was quite impressed! The location is great, right next to the freeway and the room was surprisingly clean. We checked in and about 5 minutes later the owner called our room to see if it looked good. You don't get that at any hotel let alone a $40 one. The room was clean and not super aged looking. The bathroom looked like something you would have at your house. The bed was two full box springs pushed together and a mattress to make a king. The mattress was comfortable. Room had a flat screen TV, fridge and microwave. The breakfast was bad. It was nothing more than cereal, milk and orange juice sitting in the sun.... Other than that I would absolutely stay here again. It's surprisingly welcoming.

The crowd was chatty at first but eventually realized what a show they were missing and all eyes were on Glori and her band. Cocktails are very creative and delicious but quite pricey. The food was tasty- the menu is limited - maybe only 6-7 options. We laughed at the Mini Chicken Schnitzels as a name that you would only find in the Berkshires to describe chicken nuggets. Im sure they were delcious but we went for a cheeseburger and the salmon carpaccio. My husband said that the burger was the best he has had for a long time. Just perfection! The salmon was great too- very finely sliced raw fish with a delicious sauce. I also got a salad which could have been half the size but it was really yummy with parmesan crisps.

The rooms are somewhat charming - a bit dated with older fixtures - but cute. If you are going to Kripalu and don't want to stay on campus, it's a nice alternative. The cons: We have been staying at inns and B&B's for many decades. When a place advertises "breakfast included" it typically means choices for a full breakfast. This really needs to read "continental breakfast included." The homemade muffins were very good, granola and greek yogurt also good (though would have preferred a choice of yogurts as I prefer vegan), some fresh fruit, slices of bread and a bowl of hard boiled eggs was all nice but not what I would call "breakfast included." Also, we noticed immediately that the room we had did not fit the description given to us of our room when we booked. We were told it had a mountain view which it did not. Upon asking about this, the gentleman at the desk kindly acknowledged that in his email communication he had inadvertently mixed up the room descriptions. This was not an issue and the room we had was fine but it would have been nice to have received some token of recognition for this miscommunication.

We had wonderful lunch in the main dining room in the Red Lion Inn. Our waiter Matt was very nice! Unfortunately he had the whole dining room and things took time. Other than that we truly enjoyed our lunch. I had the Roast Beef sandwich special which was fantastic! One of the best I have ever had. Not sure it is worth $28 for a small sandwich though. My wife loved her Caprese Sandwich. I had Apple Pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was good... not great. I'd skip it next time. Matt came with the coffee I ordered and said the pie was in the oven so when it finally came out I was expecting a very hot apple pie. That was not the case which was disappointing. Overall a wonderful experience and if we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stop for lunch again.

Since check in time is 4:00, and we were there at 4:30 it seems like there should be more than one employee checking in customers Overall a wonderful stay. One that I would happily do again

BEWARE of this Hotel and its unprofessional, and downright cruel GENERAL MANAGER - LAURA RUMMEL!!!!…read more We had a terrible encounter here at this Hampton Inn with Laura Rummel, General Manager. I would steer clear of this hotel and go elsewhere if you are able to as she is unprofessional, rude and condescending. I have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for decades and a DIAMOND HILTON member, and have never in my life had a negative interaction with any hotel personnel, particularly a General Manager! This is my first complaint, but I felt it was quite necessary to help others to avoid this abuse. My 5 year old daughter attempted to get a paper cup off of the counter during breakfast, and was scolded by Ms. Rummel and told no that she could not get a cup. My daughter came back crying hysterically. I approached Ms. Rummel and asked what she had said to my daughter since she was crying, and was told that she told her NO bc she was "messing up her teas." I looked over and saw 2 tea bags that were somewhat out of place. I asked my daughter to clarify what had happened, and she stated that she was trying to get the cup and the teas got caught on her sweater, so she was placing them back. I went back to discuss this misunderstanding with Ms. Rummel, who was adamant that my daughter was out to mess up the coveted teabags here. So, I asked her name and explained to her that I thought she was unkind for making my daughter cry, and that it was odd that she did not feel badly or even attempt to apologize for making a child cry. **She blatantly told me that SHE WAS NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE, and that my daughter should not be messing up her teabags and that she should not have been unaccompanied (mind you - 6 ft from where we were eating breakfast in a clear vantage point of me). I informed her I would be making a complaint with Hampton and she told me she "DID NOT CARE, BECAUSE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER - ALL COMPLAINTS COME TO HER ANYWAYS." After I told her I would be calling corporate, she continued to double down on this statement multiple times that it didn't matter, since the complaints come to her.** So, BEWARE if you choose this hotel that clearly Ms. Rummel is an unhinged individual with a power complex, and will not care about your well-being, and, in fact, overtly try to to make you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself some frustration and mental anguish and stay at another Hilton property, or at least until Ms. Rummel has been replaced.

As a…read moreformer Diamond and now a Gold member of the Hilton Honors program, I have a certain amount of loyalty to the ever-expanding Hilton brands and have probably stayed in around 100 Hampton Inns over the years. This one is a mediocre example of these trusty motels. It's neither terrible or great. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and everything works. But the room decor and design is dated and seems to have been been designed and decorated by someone without much architectural or interior design training. Frankly, the room was sort of ugly and a little depressing. The staff was okay, not particularly good or bad. The breakfast ladies were nice, though. However, the complimentary breakfast was somewhat below average for a Hampton, especially since the waffle makers were out of order and the selection of hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs, etc.) and other items was limited. Also, the location of this Hampton was a little odd, up a short drive from the main road and not visible from the highway. Due to all this, I would definitely take a look at the Courtyard by Marriott that is a couple of miles away. The prices (around $200 including taxes) are about the same, and while I didn't actually go into the Courtyard property, it sure looked more appealing than this older Hampton.

All I can say is that I have never never never encountered as nice of a place - and as nice of hosts, than at Granville House. We were lucky enough to score a room here during the 2021 holiday season and we took it without high expectations - but holy snowflake Batman! This place is amazing! And I had the pleasure of meeting both owners and connecting as nice easy going human beings. What a find! Our first night was especially special because we got a size-able snowfall! So I spent quite a bit of time downstairs by the fireplaces, playing billiards, listening to vinyl records, and under the front porch space heaters. Magical is a word I might use but it's inadequate. I think I prefer transcendental. I tend to give emphatic reviews seldom - only when a place really impresses me (or disappoints me).
