What an incredible space! Had a free day in Nashville and decided to fill it with my favorite "me" things - even though it had been MONTHS since my last flow class. I am really glad Yelp brought me to Shakti for a 12p Sunday Vinyasa class with Jessica. The space is beautiful. It is well-equipped with a locker room, towels, blocks, and easy mat rental that makes it easy if you're travelling from out of town. If visiting for an extended period, they do have a "Travellers" deal which sounded really great. I got my mat and my towel and settled into the heated room. Jessica is AMAZING - her instruction centered around what feels best for each individual body and she incorporated breath cues beautifully. I LOVED the playlist throughout class and the mix of heat (in my muscles and on my skin), balance, rest, and focus. By far one of the best Vinyasa classes I've taken, and I've taken 30+ around the country and back home in Rochester. The community feel here is great. Validated parking right on site, but also easily walkable from most places in Nashville. I highly recommend making Shakti part of your itinerary if travelling, or part of your workout routine if local to Nashville. Thanks so much again for the great class!

Yoga rooms are in this beautiful house

Visiting from out of town. Awesome studio, very friendly staff ,easy to book. They have it all for you ,all different types of classes, mats you can rent. The studio is super clean , they even give you cold lavenders towels after class. Would definitely go back here again.

Workout classes can be intimidating and having a forever injury that requires modification can make it feel even scarier however, the employees always make sure to welcome new people show them around. I find that before classes (particularly a more full class) there will be socialization between members/attendees and it's not just with people they know, rather with whoever is standing nearby. Of course no one is forcing conversations if people don't wish to be social, but it just feels extra welcoming. The instructors never make you feel left out or like a burden if you need modifications. Having done barre for a while, I'm pretty good at doing my own, however without signaling anyone out they'll offer and demonstrate different modifications for each move and encourage people to take what they need. It's nice to be reminded that this is your workout, and the way you do it doesn't have to fit perfectly into a certain look or move. They also offer hands on modifications, which you can tell them if you'd rather not receive them, but the modifications are never forceful (I think most group fitness people have experienced a modifications from a good intentioned teacher that was a little too zealous - that's never happened to me at Barre3). This is a great place for beginners, for people who are feeling a little alone on starting a fitness/barre journey, for regulars, and for all the in-betweeners. It's a welcoming and inclusive environment, that encourages modifications, all skill levels, and support where ever you need it. However, don't be fooled by all the niceness too much, because the workout will still absolutely kick your butt and is harder than you think - but it's delivered in a way that's always encouraging. Also, the free parking is a major plus of this location! You can park in the attached garage or street parking nearby. For the garage I use the call box and let them know I'm there for barre3 but make sure you get the door code from an employee before your visit, because you'll need that to enter the 2nd door.

The space has two rooms -- one for warm classes and one for the "hot hot" classes -- plus showers and all the amenities you'd want if you're coming straight from work or a workout. I got there early (shocking, I know ), and the instructor was so kind -- she unlocked the door, let me hang out, and even gave me a little tour. The space feels super welcoming and laid-back, not pretentious at all. They've got really cute merch too -- think comfy tees and tanks you actually want to wear outside the studio. I took a hot yoga class, and it was fantastic. My instructor led a spine series that had me feeling brand new. She knew her stuff and gave great cues. Booking through ClassPass was super easy, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. My only (tiny) gripe: they turn the bright lights on for most of the class, which kind of threw off the moody, ambient vibe they had going at the start and end. That lighting at the beginning and end? Perfection. I wish they'd kept that throughout. I also prefer louder music for flows , vinyasa , and buti type classes. Other than that -- 10/10 experience. I'd absolutely come back. This studio has heart, great energy, and instructors who clearly care about what they're doing.
