Excellent Service. You know you are in the presence of a true watch repair shop when you see work benches, tools, timing machines. Very rare today to find a true repair shop anywhere, let alone NJ. I went in to have a battery replaced for a Breitling, plus had some straps changed out. Not only did they do the job right then and there, the cost was a quarter of what I would have paid anywhere else. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My go to shop from now on. read more

Broke a spring bar on the diver extension of my TAG, brought my watch in hoping I could get it fixed. The office seemed very busy but they fixed it right away and I was out in a few minutes. The owner stopped What he was doing to accommodate me, I couldn't be happier they didn't know but I needed to wear my watch this weekend my wife bought it for me for xmas a few years ago and we are baptizing our son on Sunday and I wanted to wear the watch and I was stressing on if I would be able to. For the first time, I went to Shami Fine Watchmaking in Fairfield NJ with an omega to fix. Place was beautiful. The staff very professionally and courteously took a comprehensive look at it and printed out an estimate which came out to $800+. I sarcastically said "wow, looks like i totaled it, it might not be worth that much after its fixed!" He courteously replied, "well maybe if it wasn't so damaged it could be cheaper". Gave me a very nice watch holder for free on the way out. Next day, for the first time, went to Anthony's Fine Jewelry in Fair Lawn NJ. Fixed it like new for less than $150. Worn it every day since While its possible Shami does good work, you might pay a 6x multiple for it. He seems to be capitalizing on those who don't know the ranges in this space too well. Extremely happy to have found Shami on Yelp. I needed a skilled watchmaker to take a look at my Rolex Sea-Dweller and confirm some things for me. All of the local Rolex ADs wouldn't even touch my watch because it wasn't purchased in their shop. I can understand that if I had been looking for the service to be provided for free, but that was not the case. One of the ADs even happens to be a shop where I've purchased multiple Rolex watches. I found Shami and gave them a call, spoke with Adam on the phone and explained what I was looking for. Without hesitation, he said he'd be happy to do what I was looking for and said I could come in whenever was convenient. I went immediately and was greeted politely in their new showroom/shop. Adam was the consummate professional, he took my watch in back to his workshop and performed the requested service in just a few minutes. Even though the shop is a bit of a drive from my home, Adam and Shami Watches will be my "go to" from now on. The second hand on my Victorinox Dive Master 500 chronograph stopped working. I got a free estimate on the repair and had my watch fixed within 10 minutes. I was also considering doing a complete quartz overall haul. Instead of just saying yes and taking my money, I was recommend me to wait since my watch was only 2.5 years old. I am a minor collector of mechanical watches, and, after doing this for some years, one of my biggest issues is finding a watchmaker who will service watches for me at a fair price and provide excellent work. I think I have found one in Shami Fine Watchmaking. Their work is nothing short of excellent, and their prices while not cheap are fair. In fact, I had an old Bell & Ross that had been overhauled twice over the years, and after each overhaul it never really ran properly. This is a very well run and professional shop, Adam and his staff there are all very helpful..I would be comfortable taking any brand or quality of watch to them, and would feel it's being serviced properly..I'm no expert but it appears that they have all the latest equipment and technology..the repair people are wear white lab coats, Impressive. The workbenches were all visible through windows in the showroom/reception area..I have not been to the new location yet but I'm assuming it going to be a fantastic space...I took a 30 year old Tag Heuer chrono there that I got as a gift from my parents...It was completely overhauled and fixed came back looking almost new again and working like a champ..They also, while I waited put another watch on their super duper timegrapher, noticed an issue, opened it up and found a serious problem.. a brand new mid tier watch..I was shocked to hear that about this new beloved Seiko I spent almost $1,000 bucks on.. But lucky I have a great watchmaker who alerted me, and sent that watch back to where I got it for a full refund. read more

My husband and I went to the new Fairfield location to have a watch authenticated and to change the size of the bracelet. We had an early morning appointment and were in and out within 30 minutes.  The new location is quite beautiful and modern, with lots of natural light. We met with the owner, Adam, who authenticated the watch, sized the bracelet, did a timing test and discussed with us future servicing options. We are also in the market for a vintage watch, and learned that Adam has the ability and connections to source vintage pieces. We are looking forward to working with him in the future on this. All in all, it was a great experience and we are very happy to have a trustworthy independent watchmaker so close to us. While we have used watchmakers closer to us in Morris County, Shami is a cut above the rest with the new location, growing selection of watches, a true watch repair lab, and great customer service. Adam and my husband instantly connected when talking about watches. It was easy to see his passion and that he is a true watch enthusiast.
