I've been coming to Shamim's for 17 years. I get henna done on my hair, and have also had my mom, brother and sister in law come to do different things. My mom and my brother have gotten their eyebrows done here, they love Shamim's work. My brother refuses to get his eyebrows done by anyone else. My sister in law has very thin hair and it looked skimpy in the back. Shamim gave her a haircut that totally changed what her hair looks like. She was so happy because the cut gave her body in the back and it framed her face beautifully. Shamim and her staff are really great! Today I had my hair henna done and met one of the staff that I hadn't met before. Her name is Mariam and she did a beautiful job on my hair. Don't go for layer cut here my hair is totally messed. I just have two layers and it's not even properly cut. She dint even do hair wash before the cut and blow dry after the cut. In the middle of the hair cut she left and spent time attending to a client and did a phone call and came back and started hair cut from different place. I am totally upset. LOL Shamim deleted my review because I gave an honest recount of my horrible experience at her salon, she also reports all the other negative reviews, so this is not at all an accurate rating. I have my old review saved about the hair and waxing nightmare that I had here, as well as the unprofessionalism (she yelled at me and also gossiped about an old employee of hers to me). With that being said, if you feel the need to report this honest rating, I have no issue with re-uploading what you did again. I got ripped off for 400 dollars, so again, I have no issue with making sure my review stays up :) read more

Ever since I came to this country, I have had my hair cut at Shamim's and nowhere else because everywhere I go, the hairdressers want to try out new trends and fads and ask me why I never want to try anything new etc etc! I can't believe no one has reviewed Shamim's on Yelp yet! Here goes the 1st: Shamim & her crew are very efficient when it comes to threading. I got a full facial threading and was in & out in 20 min with no appointment. The lady was quick, thorough, my eyebrows are finally neatly shaped, and my skin is beaming. The price is right too - $25 for full facial threading & $7 for eyebrows. Verdict: Threading is the new waxing. Shamim makes it look easy. Come when you need to look good in under 30min! read more

I do not recommend for eyebrow threading. I was not impressed to be honest. On top of that the person made an error with my credit card the first time. Look at my online bank statement saw they charge the same amount 3 times. Thankfully my bank rectified the situation and stop the transaction. I went there for my eyebrows for a quick run in, I was running errands with the girls in the shopping center. She did a good clean job, the only concern was that she did go slightly on the thinner side, losing my arch, and lost the shape slightly. Other than that it was a clean job and even shape. Pretty quick. She did stop in the middle of me to help someone out, she is a little on the rushed side but otherwise no complaints. I'll have to let my eyebrows grow out to get my old shape but they aren't bad overall. She was friendly though. I would recommend for brows. Price was reasonable. read more

Worst eye brow threading experience ever. Not because she didn't know what she was doing but because she was lazy and negligent. I got home after arguing over how thin she had made them and her insisting they looked better that way. I don't want pencil thin eye brows!! I also don't want eyebrows that have rows of unthreaded hair a quarter inch lower than my eyebrow!! Ridiculous! I paid $7 as opposed to the $5 I usually pay and left with mutant eyebrows. read more

I have been going to this place for over 5 years. The bottom line for me is - its the BEST place for threading. The next best is the facial (well priced, but sometimes can get drawn out). I've not had a haircut yet but have done solid hair color, this was ok - took a very long time and the washing / drying is sub-par - not as well done as some of the other salons in the area. Also, don't go here for a long service and expect to get done on time, they can be slow esp for hair color and facials etc. read more

I went here to get my eyebrows done and my arms and legs waxed. My eyebrows look great so I would definitely recommend getting them done here! The lady who waxed my arms and legs left patches of hair. Also, Shamim was very nice and understanding that it was my first time ever getting anything done. Shamim.. This is the worst place I ever went for a hair cut. I had very long hair and all I wanted was a layer cut. I'm not sure how can anyone screw up that. She cut the length n its all messed up. I can't tie my hair coz apparently she just gave 2 steps 4inches apart so it looks ugly. She did the same thing to my friend. I would never ever go to this place I wish I could cut her hair like mine n let her know how it feels I hate this place I would never ever go here nor suggest anyone to go here n it was Shamim who actually did my hair. "Eek! Me thinks not" is the PERFECT way to describe the service. The service was horrible! These people are unprofessional. They eat, answer the phone, talk to their friends AND each other - all while you are sitting in the chair waiting for your service to be completed. They will not excuse themselves or offer an apology. They also do not do such a good job. I've witnessed several unhappy customers with lopsided brows leave from that place. Went in for a layer cut. Hair looks terrible now. Very clearly mentioned that the hair should not be cut short overall, but guess what, she cut it really short. Is it so difficult to follow directions ? Shamim did a very a bad job with the haircut. Would not recommend this place for haircuts. Stay away. read more

So, I went for my permanent hair straightening today with a friend of mine. She took me to this parlor and i haven't been back in several years because of her cheating me out before. You would think that a normal store would give a discount or at least keep the price they told you especially when you bring in more customers for them. WRONG. My friend was given a quote in the beginning of $60 then she went back another day to ask her if she could get her hair done and Shamim said no, but said it would be $80 (this was two weeks ago). Today we went to get our hair done, she wanted to charge us $100 per person!!! Her reason for increasing the price - my friend's hair grew ALOT. how much can hair grow in 2 weeks?! i was upset about paying i was upset about her unprofessionalism and her staff is under qualified. They can't even wash someone's hair correctly without being told 3 times what to do. All they do is stand around, gossip, and watch TV. read more

This is a horrible place. I wish i could give this place zero stars. This is the worst facial I have ever encountered in my life. This place charged me $55 dollars and she stayed in the room with me for less than 15 minutes total. This lady started out with a little face massage and put on a face polish and left me in the room laying there for 10 minutes. She came back and turned on the steam and told me she would be back. She left me there for about 15 minutes and I heard her in the other room with a walk in client and began cutting his hair. When she came back she put a mask on my face and left again for about 15 minutes. She worked on another client and threaded her eyebrows. This whole time I could hear everything from the room. I got so bored during my treatment I sat up and got ready to leave. She proceeded to tell me that I am suppose to lay there along time to relax. How can I relax if all I can hear is conversation from the next room and not getting any real treatment? read more
