I moved here a year ago and have had nothing but bad experiences with other wax spas in the area. I have been waxing for years and knew what I was looking for but struggled to find someone who got all the hair, didn't burn my skin, didn't get all the hair, or paid a ridiculous amount for that didn't reflect their work. I've heard plenty of horror stories about how painful getting a Brazilian wax can be so I wasn't exactly looking forward to my first trip. After some research I decided to try the Wax and Relax Room because of all the rave reviews. After multiple visits I can say those reviews were spot on. The "room" is in an office suite with plenty of parking outside. Upon arrival I checked in with the receptionist. Lisa then came out and escorted me to the back. I was always seen promptly at my appointment time. The room itself is nice with a small changing station and a place to put your clothes. You can tell that Lisa is highly experienced. Not only was the service efficient, it was also pretty painless. I know painless and Brazilian wax don't seem like words that belong together but in this situation they do. I'm not sure how she did it but I'd be bracing myself for intense pain and it didn't come. During the service Lisa would let me know when she was getting ready to wax and recommended that I take a deep breath. She also checked in with me to see if I needed a couple extra seconds to gather myself (which because of her skills, I didn't). What was just as great was what happened after the service - nothing. There was no irritation at all. If you're looking for a place to get a good Brazilian wax in the Triangle come here. A Brazilian wax was $55 plus tip of course, which I felt was fair given the area and quality of service provided. If I hadn't moved I'd still be a loyal customer. read more

My Wax and Relax Room experience was amazing! I have moved across the country for my career often, so I have been to my fair share of estheticians for a Brazilian wax, and Lisa was the best by FAR! Her room is beautifully decorated, clean, and pristine. I hate that I always forget to take pictures. I'm pretty paranoid about COVID so I asked about precautions in place. She has a questionnaire, temp check, mask, face shield if necessary, full wipe downs between clients, and lots of hand sanitizer. She also told me that she's getting a UV germicidal light lamp to run at the end of the day to sterilize the room even further. She is pleasant, experienced and quick but thorough! I like estheticians who talk to me just enough to distract me from the pain. To be honest, Lisa's waxing technique really limits the pain altogether. She used a combination of both soft and hard wax but always used a wax strip (even with hard wax) and that really minimized the pain. I wish all my estheticians in the past had been that intentional. I was shocked when she told me to lift my legs to do the back because we were wrapping up! Her current prices are very affordable compared to others, and the quality is better! I highly recommend Lisa, and the Wax and Relax Room! Even though we are going through a pandemic, I try to take care of myself as a part of self care routine. (my fault my gps is bunk) She not only dealt with my rush/panic on the phone, she rearranged her schedule a tiny bit to accomodate my lateness. (I was a first time client) She used three different kinds of wax, which made the experience less painful than any I've ever had before. I was in a huge rush and I was in and out in no time. She was lovely to talk to, and I was being completely difficult. Not once did she seem frustrated in the least. Definitely went above and beyond. The wax and relax room is within a larger salon in the shopping center. The room is small but very tasteful, just a bed/table and some products. Be for real. Waxing is a labor of love. There is pain involved : ) This woman is FAST, and the technique she uses with hard and soft wax makes a huge difference. Set in a pretty office building, beautiful small room. She is very no nonsense- gets it done. You apply the after lotions and aloe yourself, but I almost prefer that now.
