Was given a quick appointment at new location, Furlogy, which I was grateful for. My dog has epilepsy so he was medicated as I had explained to groomer and woman at front desk. Groomer came out - had a brief convo about his meds and the look. She, Meli, didnt really try to connect with Bo at all - petting, eye contact, etc- which I found a bit disarming and walked back to the groom room. Very cold atmsphere overall. Bo was done in 2 hours- and I was told he had trouble standing and was asked if he had leg issues and explained again he was medicated to lessen the stress due to the epilepsy. Was told he was being charged as an x-large dog ( he is 65 pds). He had never been considered an xl before and I didnt understand the charge..Grooming was terrible .. Paid and left. Heres where the larger problem begins. Decided to speak to owner before I would write a negative review. She called back promptly - she was defensive, angry and although did ask what I wanted to make it better (I should of said full refund but didnt want her to yell at me more than she already had). She said grooming costs are basically subjective as to what the groomer wants to charge and how long the groom takes. She said my dog was OVERmedicated and thats why there may have been an issue, but then added that many dogs come in medicated and that I should be more understanding of the grooming issues because I dont know her business etc etc Basically, she spoke over me the entire time nastily and defensively and I was responding with "oh my gd" because I could not believe how I was being yelled at. I had to hang up the phone- could not get a word in edgewise and the defensiness and berrating continued when she called back. She said I kept "coming at her" and didnt have answer an answer for her question "what can I do to make it right". Honestly- I dont even know what would make it right. Maybe a kinder simpler conversation. So much disrespect and defensiveness tells me that it isnt the 1st time shes had complaints. She told me that her place "was not the place for me" No sht! New to the area- terrible 1st grooming experience.. Very disappointing... read more

Sadly, we will no long patronize Shampoochies. My dog has been there several times with no issue but we won't be returning after a very bizarre and jarring recent experience there. I wish them luck in finding a more peaceful approach to customers and their dogs. read more

She has completely lost passion and respect for her customers. We originally had a set appointment where other arrangements were made for our dog to be dropped off. Then we received a phone call they needed to change the appointment to a Saturday. Saturday is the only day I would be able to take our dog but she needed the service done so we took the appointment. We been loyal customers for well over 5years. I have multiple sclerosis so some days are better then others for me. I was up until 5am. But once the phone rang it woke me up and I recognized the number and started getting changed right away, I'm 10 mins late at this point. However only takes me 10 minutes to get there. As I was about to walk about the door my fiancé calls me saying that it was to late and now they weren't booking until August. Which okay up until this point it is what it is. I then get another phone call 30 mins or so later looking to collect payment. I politely said please have sherry call me on Monday. Then about a hour or so later. Sherry calls, I try to apologize and explain hey I was literally trying to run out the door. All she cared about was collecting payment since her groomer lost out. I explained to her that I could of been on my way and the service could of been provided. She then states "you wouldn't like it if you didn't get a paycheck" now this is where I inform her I'm back on disability (she knows I have MS because we been dealing with her for years) this is where she makes a mockery of herself telling me I am just sitting home relaxing collecting disability while now her groomer can't buy food. So now this is where I got angry, wrong or right she showed no compassion but instead cared more about money then anything else. Which is a shame because this wasn't her in the past. Just so you guys see and can make your own choice to conduct business with someone who basically made fun of a disabled person. read more

They are okay as a dog groomer. The issue is that the owner is overbearing and nasty. I have seen this multiple times myself. There are plenty of better groomers out there. read more

Erin and Sherri are amazing! I picked up Albie (Gizmo), a NYC rescue picked up by animal control a month earlier, on Saturday. On Sunday he spent 5 hours with his glam squad. (They kindly stayed very late to insure his comfort and good looks!) He went in a dirty, smelly, tangled mess in desperate need of some TLC. Erin gave him the royal treatment and helped him through the transformation. He had sticks, stones, and other unidentifiable things tangled in his hair that surely pulled at his skin and was uncomfortable. Erin made him look the part of a little prince. He was so happy with all the Shampoochies employees when he left, I know he will be excited to return for more loving care. As a new dog owner, I discovered that all my anxieties were needless when I picked him up and saw how great he looked and how happy he was. Thank you so much Sherri, Erin and crew! read more

Everybody has off days, but I'm angry & hurt at the experience I just had at Shampoochies. I have been bringing my 2 PWD there for some months now and they look great when they're done. I've had pleasant interactions with staff & owner (a little rough around the edges). Last visit, when I picked them up, they had plucked one dogs ears maybe too much and advised to watch him closely Bc of the resulting head shaking. I brought him to the vet just to check about infection etc and she said he was ok, gave some trazadone, and advised that I tell them not to pluck next time. When I picked them up today, the owner, Shari, came out with a literal list and asked - Do you keep them outside? (Um- yeah - I Keep my 2 foo foo poodles outside. Doesn't everyone around here ?! ). She said she's "been doing this a long time" and no vet would advise me to not have their ears plucked because it causes infection - and I said I was going to defer to my vet - she continued to argue and seemed to have a vengeance about all the things wrong with my extremely pampered boys (they're my kids.) I was firm with her and she told the woman ringing me up that this was my last appt. I had been on the calendar every 5 weeks. Shari, get over yourself. You need to take requests less personally and do what the owner asks. I will gladly be giving my hard-earned money to another salon. read more

My dog was trimmed on her tail and rear leg feathering on the previous visit which was not requested. I have a husky and any reputable groomer would now huskies are not to be trimmed since they are a double coat dog. I advised the owner and she stated she would discount the trim amount on my next visit upon my return if I would give them a second chance. Seeing that the owner appeared to be sympathetic and was sorry for the error on their part I agreed. Upon my next visit there was no discount and the owner stated I requested the trim which was not true and would not keep up her end of the agreement. Also her fur under her butt area had poop on he on it still which should have been cleaned prior to my arrival. Also I have been going here for years and any attempt by the owner to say this review is dishonest is her way of trying to save face. read more
