Big fan of Shamrock!! Call ahead and have your deli meats ready for pick up or also have any type of sandwich ready. They get their rolls from Del Buonos and also sell some of the Del Buonos rolls in the deli. Great for platters if you are hosting. They also make their own homemade ham and turkey. The potato and macaroni salad are great!! Can't speak high enough of them. Service is great!! Ditch the grocery store lunch meats and give this place a try!! read more

Checked out the yelp reviews so we decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately our experience wasn't as good as other reviewers. At first impression, the deli is clean, the menu is extensive, and everything looks fresh and homemade. We were thoroughly excited!! However our experience went downhill from there. We sat at counter for 10 minutes and no one would acknowledge us, let alone take our order. There was one other customer ahead of us that ordered a Caesar salad. As we patiently waited for them to take our order we watched a woman prepare a chicken caesar salad with her bare hands. No gloves, no hand washing, and no thought to safe food handling practices. Finally, they take our order. Chicken cutlet with cheese, lettuce and tomato and an American hoagie with a side of hot peppers. When we got home there were no hot pepper and both sandwiches were made with little care. Called again for delivery 30 minutes prior to closing at 6:30 PM and was told that they don't have delivery because they "let their guy go home since we close in 20 minutes". Makes no sense and horrible business practices. Who is running this place? read more

I used to frequent this place. Loved their soup and sandwiches. Their corn chowder especially was excellent. They have screwed up my orders on occasion. They can be slow in getting your order. I have stopped going there. The Manager is very sweet. I was dining at another restaurant for lunch with my children and I witnessed the owner drunk at the bar being so vulgar and insulting. It was really bad. He was making a scene and everyone was looking at him. My kids included. It was 12 noon. I was surprised they did not ask him to leave. When I mentioned this to our server she actually told me that he frequently acts like that and has been asked to leave many times. I feel uncomfortable going back to his deli, I feel like I'd be supporting someone who is not a very nice person. I wish I had not witnessed his behavior that day, but I did and it is what it is. read more

1st let me say that the salads are good and the hoagies and steak sandwiches are very full and tasty. On the flip side, I have to question the fact that the long haired deli person was not wearing gloves or a hairnet. Also goes for the grill cook. He has long hair in a ponytail, but not cover of any kind. I did watch him slick his hair back with his hands and adjust the ponytail, then went right back to cooking. No washing of the hands. That is a health code violation and just makes me very nervous. read more

We've ordered breakfast sandwiches which were as generous and delicious as could be expected, if not more. Hoagies are generous and delicious, tho not out of the park. What Shamrock consistently offers are the best Real potato and other salads, like Grandma made. Re the sandwiches, they will give you anything you want, fresh as can be. I am a sucker for soup, year round. Tonight we had their seafood lumpy (with great real seafood) "bisque". OMG. Pick your seafood loves, they're are chunks. OMG. Add some pepper and you're in heaven I have had several of their other soups. They have daily fresh and fresh/frozen. All have been a total fullsome pleasure. You can also get yourself other frozen-dinner treats if you don't love their ready-made case choices. Our area has loved this family effort for longer than I choose to remember, despite changing ownerships. And now that I remember again, we will be constant customers. I go ever once in a while and am always happy with the food. But today I ordered a grilled buffalo chicken salad. Might have been the best salad I have ever had!! I suggest everyone to eat here even if it just a salad or sandwich. The kitchen staff definitely knows what they're doing! read more

I ordered the Special Turkey sandwich for my first visit earlier this week and can honestly say that it was the best hoagie I've ever had. The meet/cheese/bread were fresh and cut super-thin (just the way I like it). I never visited the Shamrock before the new ownership took over, but considering the amazing sandwiches & friendly service (plus the fact that it's a unique little shop with character), I think this place will develop a "must visit if in the area" status over time. I highly, highly recommend trying this place out. read more

When they first opened hands down they made a perfect cheesesteak. Now it is hit or miss. They over season the cheesesteaks. Fried onions are chunky vs being diced or thin slivers. Add in as others have posted, inconsistency of delivery and when they are delivering a hour is not a half hour! Many other places will tell you they are very busy and it may be 45 minutes to a hour. Let the customer decide if they want to wait. They are pricier than other places. Be prepared to pay $$ for a couple of cheesesteaks and fries more than the surrounding competition. Want your fries to be Old Bay fries? Add $1.25 more for Old Bay seasoning sprinkled on them. What opened as a five star place is no longer due to lack of consistency of food, customer service, delivery (or consistent lack of) and being overpriced. read more

FYI, I have been going here since the 90's and they have changed owners . Which , doesn't matter as long as they keep up the quality.that Shamrock was always known for . They used have a plethora of soups like 7 different kinds and I loved their crab shrimp bisque but the current owners are now leasing it to new owners. When it takes 25 mins to go to a deli that u know has good food it's worth it. But couple nites ago I wanted my fav Shamrock tuna melt which they.make and I love. I also will say that they do.have a reputation for the best egg potato salad and the new owners still have the great potato salad, reminds me of true homemade. But My sandwich was very disappointing. I asked for extra cheese and and the melt was not melted and the melt used to be so packed with tuna and I could only eat half . It's just sad when u expect a great sandwich and it's not. I would def order the salads but whoever owns the place and running it needs to keep the quality up of what Shamrock is famous for . I will not order the tuna again but I will give them a chance again as they did have great cheesesteak subs and lunch meats you can buy to make ur own sandwiches. It's on Cuthbert Blvd and I am hoping that in time they will improve . Again, I am just telling it like it is, a tuna melt should be melted and the bread should be fresh and toasted Not! So Shamrock please keep up the quality since , you have peops, like me who don't live in the neighborhood but will continue to be a customer if the sandwiches are great and consider bringing back the array of soups , they were great especially the chowders and the shrimp and crab bisque is was delicious and I def was sad to see you r only offering the same couple soups. I really hope whoever runs the place takes my review and makes it better , . The sandwiches are good when they make them correctly. They mess up orders and don't have ingredients all the time. They make ordering a pain and they are just not nice people on the phone. I have moved on to other establishments after giving them multiple chances. read more

Their "famous" wings are probably the worst wings I've ever had. Spicy Italian hoagie was nothing at all to rave about. The spring mix they use in place of lettuce is terrible. read more
