Me & my bestie on a girls night!

Giving four stars for certain reasons. The Shammy used to be pretty fun and it is one of the only bars with a pool table, which is awesome! But it's become a very old person bar. Still a ton of fun, and you always run into some people from high school or whatever so it's great! I've really only ever gone at night time and on weekends, and it's always been fun for a few, but then it hits a point where it's time to hop to the next bar. If you're looking to make friends or anything, it's not the Shammy. I tried breakfast for the first time here on Saturday night and it's another partial reason for my 4 star. My step dad & I met up with my brother and his two friends (who already ordered/got their food) and then we both ordered. My dads food came, then I watched 3 other tables get food.. and I got confused. We finally asked and the guy said he never put it in.. no apology or anything, just said "I'll put it in now". Not mad, was just a little disappointed by this cause I really like most the tenders at the local bars in Longview. Anyhoo, typically always a great time. Love that there are two pool tables, again, because it's really one of the only bars with pool. I would definitely recommend checking it out. (:

I absolutely recommend this place. I actually made an account just to write this review. The only thing that matches the fantastic food is the staff. They're always amazing and really friendly when I come in. They always have wonderful recommendations. I haven't tried a single thing on the menu that I didn't love. This place is a gym in Longview. The portions are extremely generous and worth the price along with the amazing quality. If you haven't tried this place you should. I recommend it to all my friends and family. Recommendations include IRISH NACHOS RUBEN JUCY LUCY BIGGER WITH SAUTÉED MUSHROOMS PRIME RIB SANDWICH CHIPS AND QUESO MUSHROOM SWISS TURKEY BACON Pictured

Great place to go have some drinks and eat. Food is good and they pool tables, watch the game and just hang out.

We go to the Shammy as a regular weekend family breakfast, the guy bartender who works on the weekends is the absolute best.

While I understand being the only person there to serve and what not, a prompt warning that the only flavor of pie was most definitely over a week old, soggy as could be, and full of undercooked, under mixed raw flour would have been human decency. To say this is the last time I will stop here is an understatement. Not to mention they charged me $16.75 for two slices on this paper plate and wrap. Thank you for ruining my 3 year olds excitement with what he described as "the saddest pie ever." Hopefully the food is better, but I won't be giving my money to these folks again. Best of luck

For a moment, I thought I had somehow took a wrong turn and had driven into rural Ireland. I was curious. I knew I had to check it out on our return drive home later in the day. Unfortunately, the hours posted to Yelp and Google were incorrect; either that, or the proprietors had closed early that Sunday night. Either way, they were gracious enough to let us poke about a bit before leaving, and I have to say, we will likely be making a special trip to revisit this place in the near future. The interior is warm, dimly lit, and filled with the heartwarming aroma of wood smoke from the black iron furnace, and Irish stew simmering in the kitchen. Lots of love and personal touches have been included in the interior decor: vintage artwork, framed and loose pictures, posters and newspaper clippings, antiques, tchotchkies, your standard neon bar signs, and hard wood furniture. It looks and feels lived in: a living history museum of the region, which apparently has more history than one would ascertain from driving through this tiny hamlet. Looking forward to knocking back a few drinks and enjoying a hearty meal here someday soon.

Cook James is always on point. Every plate comes out hot, flavorful, and done right. You can tell there's pride behind the grill. The waitresses, Cheyenne, Ashley, Kasey, Donna, and Linda, are a big part of why we keep coming back. They're friendly, fun to chat with, and make you feel genuinely welcome every single visit. We're regulars for breakfast, and the Early Bird special can't be beat. $5.99 ($8.99 with the $3 off) plus free coffee between 8-9am. That's a win any day of the week. You'll most likely see us there during that time because, well... it's our routine. The place itself is nicely decorated with a sporty vibe mixed with an old-style garage feel. Comfortable, casual, and full of character. If you're looking for great breakfast, great people, and a spot that feels like a neighborhood staple, Triangle Tavern delivers every time.

When we walked in this evening, Triangle was packed! They had football games playing on multiple screens, and as usual, the crowd was lively and in (mostly) good spirits - depending upon how their team was doing. We ordered the mac & cheese bites, and I'm going to suggest that you *never, ever order them - *Especially if you are on a diet - they are stupid good, and hard to resist! Mr. wonderful ordered the Sourdough Patty Melt with tots and of course - left nothing on his plate. I had the BLT. Only complaint - fries could've been crispier. Everything else = perfect. I spoke with Linda who was our server this evening (she was fabulous even with the crowd and chaos) and she confirmed that I can order *crispy fries, so - I'm thrilled! We have and will continue to recommend Triangle Tavern.

Lots of things... * Staff is REMARKABLY friendly and personable * They are equally attentive and professional * The patrons were awesome, seriously. I came here alone, and no fewer than three people, each in completely different parties, approached and engaged me in conversation. This seemed like a bunch of regulars who welcome newcomers as family. The menu is much larger than expected for a bar. I opted for the pulled pork sliders, and they were FAR better than expected. The rolls were the most surprising part, they were fantastic! I don't know if they're baked on-site, but they're definitely not typical "get the job done" fare, they were superb. "Slider" also seemed to be a bit misleading because they're so generously stuffed with pork and cole slaw that they're closer to a full-sized sandwich. Prices belie the quality and portion sizes (much lower prices than I'd expect). The only minor gripe is that there are not a lot of good seats for seeing bands perform. The bar area is narrow and long, which doesn't lend itself well to seeing performances, but I was still able to do so, and the friendliness of the staff and other patrons (again, AMAZING surprise) really seemed to make up for this.
