Not the Same Practice Anymore…read more We used to love coming to this office when it was run by Dr. Turnwald and his team. My kids actually enjoyed going to the dentist, and the entire staff was fantastic. About a year ago, I was having tooth pain and called to set up an appointment, and I was pleasantly surprised to get in the same day. However, when I showed up, I found out the entire old staff and Dr. Turnwald had left, and the practice had been sold to a new doctor--without any notice. Even the text and email confirmations still had the old dentist's name, so it was pretty frustrating to show up and find an entirely new staff and doctor. While the new staff was nice and the doctor was okay, the whole experience felt off-putting since I booked the appointment thinking it was still my family's trusted dentist. I also really missed my old hygienist, who always made visits easy for my kids. Honestly, had they been more upfront about the change when I called, it might not have left such a sour taste in my mouth. But now, I drive 30 minutes out of my way to see Dr. Black, where she has her own practice, and it's worth it for the care we receive. Most of the positive Yelp reviews here are for the old practice under Dr. Turnwald, and it says a lot that the entire staff left when he did. We've since followed Dr. Black to new office, and our family is much happier for it.

Months later.. my crown fell off so I was desperate & contacted a few dentist nearby including them because I needed it fixed immediately! They are only a 7 minute drive from where I live which is why I wanted to go to them from the start.. It was a weekend, so they got back to me on the next business day, and I was lucky to get such a quick appointment or was it scary that they had an immediate opening .. Long story short, The Dentist was so polite & gentle. Always asked if I was doing ok & he paid great attention to detail. He fixed my crown & two fillings I been wanting to get fixed for years, but it was cosmetic so my insurance never covered it. I was in luck, I had just met my deductible so it was super cheap to fix all my teeth! A crown & two fillings I believe were around $250! I paid $1,000 for my crown last time! Overall, highly recommend this Dentist. There's two there, I'm pretty sure it was Dr. Patel, he looked pretty young. I thought he was new because he was too young & too nice lol Newer equipment as well, no pain. Will be back in 2 months for a cleaning! *** UPDATE *** My crown fell out once I flossed! (I've had 2 crowns, never happened to me before) Went back to get it put back in, they had to numb me again & shave the tooth down to fit better. It felt fine but I noticed they didn't fix the gap in between my teeth where food got stuck which was my main concern. They want me to go back again for a checkup, but I really don't want to get numbed up for the 3rd time! TBD.. **ANOTHER UPDATE** My filling in my front teeth chipped after a month, so changed my review from 5 to 3 stars. Dentist is very nice but haven't had much luck here... Dentist are both on vacation for a month so I have to wait to get it fixed. Decided to update this one more time.. The dentist was so nice I decided to stay for at least another year. He sent me to a specialist to have my tooth checked without charge which I appreciate. Last update** My crown fell out again!!! Eating ice cream & I wasn't even chewing on it whatsoever. I took my daughter for her semi-annual checkup and as usual, Dr. Nancy and team were kind and made sure she felt comfortable. There was a problem with the x-ray machine, which delayed the appointment, but I wasn't disappointed, because my daughter is not a big fan of that part. So we skipped it and her appointment went smoothly. I had my teeth checked, cleaned, and polished and it was very relaxing and thorough. I appreciate it when I can just sit back and let the Dr. work and go. I would've loved to have my teeth x-rayed, but next time will do. We've been here for a few years now and we are happy to continue to remain loyal customers!

My biggest fear wasn't necessarily the procedure itself, but the numbing beforehand (I have a phobia of not feeling pain, weird, I know). Dr. Patel was incredibly understanding and talked to me through the entire numbing process and procedure itself. He explained where he was numbing and why, and what areas it might affect. It was very calming. The procedure was so fast, and I felt nothing during it. I'm 32 now, and I've waited so long to have my wisdom teeth removed out of fear. EQUIPMENT Modern and supposedly equipped with cutting edge services... like 3D printers and a panoramic scan x-ray to detect fractures like an endontist... but didnt experience any of these firsthand. EXPERIENCE Hygienist seem good but the dentist seems very into upselling non-insurance services and it was an meh experience overall... I got referred out for perio services and then called back for a cleaning... then told about not being in network for insurance next year... not sure if thats accurate but there are plenty of dentists with great ratings that take Cigna so... my journey continues along with a digital copy of my files and xrays. P.S. ZocDoc has a lot more research info and practioners than Google and Yelp where you can filter for in-network providers.
