Definitely a fun spot for a night out or a dinner! The happy hour prices are unreal and will definitely have to return for them! They are a "fresh kitchen", so we ordered a bunch of items and split it all. Food: The Cloud of Shrooms bao bun was AMAZING, and the Galbi Jim bao bun tasted kind of like a hamburger, but honestly, in a good way. The General Tso's cauliflower was SO good, and the crack fries were also a favorite. We also had the shrimp pad thai, steak lo mein, edamame, and potstickers. I'd probably skip the Bang Bang bao bun and the beef potstickers next time, but only because the other items were even better! My top picks were the cauliflower & the beef lo mein. And the surprise Ube Cheesecake was delicious!! The fan-favorite drinks from the group were the Asian Persuasion and the Lychee Martini. Jazmine, our server, was wonderful, and Bradley, the GM/Director, was amazing as well!! They both made the experience even better! Food was decent but as someone who has a mother that can cook all of this, it doesn't give me the wow factor. The best dish of the night was probably the beef short rib chow fun. The portions are crazy small esp for the price. We also ordered the table side bbq and it was just all for show. The dipping sauces do not go well with the meat skewers and veggies. Stopped in for a quick drink with friends before heading back home so I wasn't expecting much. We ended up having a great time and getting an impromptu mixology class from Kevin! He so knowledgeable and friendly. We stayed so long we ended up ordering the sticky ribs which were delicious! I loved the decor of the restaurant and how relaxed the atmosphere seemed. I had been to KaPow and loved it...which was at this location before so when I saw it renamed to Shanghai'd I was excited to try it out and see if the food was just as good. Well...nothing much changed...the decor remained the same, the menu may have a couple altered items but for the most part it's the same restaurant! We visited for my child's birthday dinner. The interior is beautiful. They had anime wall holograms that feel like another world. I found it to be really immersive. The server was friendly but the push back on my drink order was frustrating. I asked for a Sprite with cucumber and mint. Yet garnishes were questioned and limited because he said they didn't want to run out. Like what?!? Food was mixed: my daughter didn't care for the ramen, while the barbecue duck fried rice was decent. The shredded duck wasn't ideal. I give it a 7.5 out of 10. A highlight was a staff member taking photos so we could remember the night. We purchased prints with frames. They came with the digital copies and were $20 for each framed photo. However, the food was not very flavorful and came out room temperature. The "Krabby patty" (krab rangoon) filling tasted sour and inedible. The pork egg roll had a cracker-like crumbly texture that I did not enjoy, and it tasted like it had been frozen. The one item I did enjoy from the platter was the Szechuan Beef Potsticker. For $40, I would hope for better quality dim sum. Service was friendly and attentive. I loved the ambiance and decor inside! I'm not sure if they are rebranding or another restaurant brought it out. The menu is Asian fusion and we ordered the pu pu platter which was $40 for two. It must have been ten pieces of dim sum. Really awful value. The worst part was it was super bland. There was some fire pit/grill in the center of the platter even though all the food was cooked already. I visited on a weekday for lunch. The interior was ornately decorated, darker quiet ambiance (great for chatting), and what I would consider a good option for a romantic up-scale date. There was plenty of seating and our server was very attentive. Ordered a lunch special Bento box which is on a separate menu that we had to inquire about. It comes with an appetizer, main, side, and dessert, so I recommend it as an opportunity to try a few things. I had pad Thai and short rib and didn't leave any on the plate. Everything I ate was tasty and more filling than the visual quantity would suggest. I appreciated that they leave a carafe of water at the table, and got to try a vegetable called edamame (*tip - you aren't supposed to eat the whole thing - just the beans) which was decent. Sadly I couldn't even eat my food - I ordered from here for the first time - I ordered delivery . The food looked amazing however when I tried to take it out of the container all the noodles stuck to the cardboard container like glue and peeled up half the cardboard at the same time.. terrible idea to put wet noodles or any type of damp food into a cardboard container- I'd like to think that they are trying to use recycled materials biodegradable.. but it doesn't work in a case like this where it just melts the cardboard:( read more

I really wanted to like this place. I arrived for my reservation and waited at the host stand for about 7 minutes before anyone realized I was there. It appeared as though there had been a seniors meet up previously as there were about 12 elderly people lingering at the front of the restaurant. Most tables were empty. My party of 3 was seated. It took a while for someone to take our drink order. Before we got our drinks, we were checked on and put in for a pupu platter. That arrived before the drinks did. Drinks were OK, albeit pretty sweet. The pupu platter was mediocre (the crab rangoons were just plain bad). We decided to cut our losses and have dinner elsewhere. read more

I was a fan of Kapow, the restaurant formerly at this location. In its new, slightly changed iteration I'm pleased to report that the food is just as good, the ambiance is better and the service is just as great. This is the only decent Chinese restaurant in Palm Beach County. It's not a traditional "Chinese-American" restaurant, I wouldn't describe it as an "Asian fusion" restaurant either. I think Chinese is the best description because the duck is among the best I've had (across many ducks in Manhattan, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Beijing). Yes, it's that good. Served traditionally with slivers of scallions, cucumber, pickled onion, hoisin sauce and delicate wraps in a bamboo steamer. The duck was delicious, skin crisp and enough for four if you order other dishes or for two if you want to get stuffed (my preference). I also think the dumplings tasted like they were made that day, the wrapper had that delicate texture. I don't normally call out servers by name because it smacks of being a paid review (which this is not), but everyone from Jayden to the manager and hostess was very nice, friendly and attentive. Since we both work in hospitality and had shifts the next day, we wanted a nice evening out. Unfortunately, it didn't start well. We arrived on time for our 8:00 reservation but had to wait an unusually long time at the hostess stand trying to find someone to seat us. Many staff members looked at us and walked by before the hostess finally appeared vape in hand and finally ready to seat us. Things didn't improve much from there. We ordered appetizers and our meals, but the boa bun meat was rock hard. My pho bowl was $30, which isn't outrageous, but I've had much better bowls for $12. The real disappointment was my girlfriend's $35 steak lo mein. She's not one to complain, but she found it inedible. It definitely wasn't a good way to spend nearly $200.
