Very unique place..very intimate...very cozy. If your looking to have good food and good conversation this is definitely the place.

A night of sipping craft cocktails, great food and conversation with friends. The ambience is cozy without being too tight. Romantic without being lovey dovey and quaint without the whole in the wall esthetic. I've come here alone and with a group, each time just as enjoyable. My food was delicious (lamb ragu pasta) I didn't take a picture because loaded it to a previous review. This visit I tried the craft cocktails for Halloween and the Gruyère spread with focaccia. I'm a fan of it all. Great service and fun night out.

i've been here twice, the first time i came i had a fabulous experience! food was amazing! ambiance was nice as well! it tends to get very busy! the second time i decided to take some guests with us visiting from another state, i had hyped this place up due to the experience i had.. however the second time the experience, was sub par, my pasta was not as warm which wasn't that great and my guests didn't look pleased with their food either.. i asked the waitress if they had changed chefs, and she said they had.. you could tell in the quality of food difference. over all nice place. maybe i'll come back .. we will see . service : 7/10 food: 6/10 ambiance: 8/10 bang for your buck: 4/10 pricy

The ambiance was so elegant and was able to get seated even with no reservation. The drinks were really good and the presentation is so fun! I've seen other people get cooler drinks where their drink comes from a plant pot with a rose. Definitely will come back when there is Jazz Sundays!!

I feel like I'm really late to the party, but I had friends in from out of town...thus, the perfect time to try Johnnys. They put us in the best seat of the house (sofa, lounge area), but we were hoping for a regular dining table in order to eat our way through Johnny's. They accommodated us very nicely. From the secret password, to the drinks & the noms, everything was spot on! The old fashionds? Insane in a good way. The dramatic addition of applewood smoke is perfect. We had some old fashioned connoisseurs in the group and they said they were the best ever. The bacon wrapped dates? Mouth-watering. Our table had burnt ends (super tender) salads, crab cakes, lamb pappardelle, lobster/shrimp pad Thai & Wagyu strudel. All memorable! Highly recommend.

I attended a wine tasting event with a group here, and it was a lovely networking experience that I'd highly recommend. We were all seated in their private room upstairs and were each served small pours of 4 different wines along with appetizers in a span of 2 hours. I really loved the first wine the best - an orange wine from France - Cancan Brute Nature Orange. What's great about these events is that you can order bottles of the wine featured at great prices - my favorite was only $15. For each "round," we were served, Johnny spoke to us about the wine, and then we chatted and enjoyed for a few minutes before the next course and wine arrived. It was a great way to spend some time with people you may not know very well, but it would also be fun with friends or family. I was very impressed with Johnny's knowledge, and he was an engaging presenter. I loved learning about biodynamic wine, specific varietals, and the Mediterranean region, which was featured for this event. I'd make it a point to return, especially to buy wine. The food was good - I particularly remember the gruyere cheese dip and the focaccia being really good. Everything was decent but not super memorable or inventive. Just yummy basic snacks and good wine. Overall, a very nice event.

This was a really unique experience! First, you have to find the place. It's a door in an alley where you have to push the doorbell, say the password, then get let in. Warning that we did have to walk down a flight of stairs! They led us back past another door and into the speakeasy. You must have a reservation. We were one of the first groups there, but soon the place was lively and a nice vibe. We only got one appetizer for food which was good, but mostly came for the drink experience. We had a lot of fun trying different drinks not sure how they would be presented to us! The final rose drink even came in a flower pot with Oreos on top. Our waiter was super attentive, would love to come back here again sometime!

On a recent Friday night my friends and I ventured to Johnny's for a few cocktails and dinner. A password is required to gain entrance to this unassuming establishment which has as its entrance a non-descript door in an alley. Blink and you'll miss it! You'll need to make a reservation in order to get the password which is sent to you the day of your reservation. I don't know what happens if you don't have a password. Push the buzzer and hope they let you in? lol The cocktail menu is grouped by your favorite spirit. I started with the Final Rose which was served in a flower pot. Yes, a flowerpot complete with a rose. There is a layer of crushed Oreos because no flower pot is complete unless it has dirt. My second drink was the Rain Forest that was gussied up with a tropical flower. My friend M ordered the Corpse Reviver which is served with great flair complete with dry ice and a skull-shaped cup. I started with the arancini and for my main course a Beef Wellington made with phyllo dough instead of puff pastry. It was really tasty. My three friends split the Alchemi salad, arancini and the Thai Street ribs. I apologize for not getting a photo of the menu. The menu on the website is different than what we had so my guess is that it changes seasonally. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake which was served in an elephant ear. This is the combo I never knew I needed. I will definitely come back to Johnny's.

Made a reservation for 7pm on Saturday but never got a code to enter the building. We tried calling 4-5 times and never received a call back.

No real food offerings but that's not what this place is about. It's about weird or rather eclectic mixed cocktails for $18 a pop. I tried the sleepy hollow which is a modified old fashioned with a "butter washed" bourbon and a torched marshmallow on a stick just sitting on the rim. Wasn't sure what to do with the mallow. Ended up dipping and eating it. The drink however I sent back. It was sooo sweet; tasted like syrup. They did replace it with a standard old fashioned which was fine. They do give you your bill in a book. Like an actual book to read, which is a "novel" idea. (Sorry couldn't help myself). Bartenders are engaging and aim to please as well. The worst parts; limited seating, overly dark, expensive, too many cocktail bars in the area that are pretty much the same, and no real personality that sets it apart from the others in this town.

The music was actually so loud it was hard to catch up with my friend. I wasn't aware of how cozy the spot was. We weren't allowed to sit next to each other (understandably so, the seats are designed for two/four people to sit across from each other like normal) so that made it easiest to just quiet up and listen to the music. I have no problem with that, the singer was great! The waitress was kind for even checking with the manager to see if we could adjust the seating arrangement. I had to ask lol I had the fried salmon bites, very salty but good flavor. Oh, and one of the two bathroom stalls wouldn't close but luckily girl code helped us stay secure! This spot is a hidden gem especially for those who appreciate a very intimate live music performance, when they have it. I'd like to try more of the food.
