I can't say enough good things for how positively Dr Connor has changed my and my husband lives. She is by far, the best Chiro on this side of the world! We found her on an add on Facebook and I'm so glad we did. She sees chiropractor treatment as more holistic. She doesn't just "crack" you but looks at you as a whole person and offers a few other treatments with long term healing. The "cracking" style of chiropracting is a bandaid and I used to get it from another chiropractor and only continue to feel bad so I would need more and more treatment. The only chiropractor that helped before focused on stretching and deep tissue massage. But just the "cracking" doesn't provide long term healing. So Dr Connor steps into our lives after my husband had been going to the doctor for 8 straight years for a pain they could never find the reason for. They tried prescribing meds but the meds made him feel worse overall which wasn't worth it to him. And my muscles are tight all over my body and massages haven't yelped, yoga haven't helped, meditation haven't helped...I can go on. And now it all makes sense when we saw Dr Connor. She did a x-ray and it explained WHY my husband was experiencing pain and why my muscles are so tight all over my body. First of all, do you know other chiros that do an X-ray? I don't. Shannon Connor has a specialty shared by very few chiropractors in the US: she is trained in upper cervical care (NUCCA), a very gentle technique that is the opposite of the "crick and crank" DCs that are omnipresent today. The premise is that if your uppermost disc--the atlas--is unbalanced/off-kilter, then the rest of your body will show it. One shoulder will be lower, one leg will be shorter; headaches can be another sign. I get knee pain when I am out. A gentle manipulation, like clicking, on your neck comprises the adjustment. It's not traumatic. I immediately feel the difference. I have been going to this type of DC since I was twelve. Every time I move I find my next one and always have to drive a bit-- whether in MI, MA, IL or CA, but it's totally worth it. Depending, of course, on how you manifest being out of balance, traditional MDs can end up declaring, for instance, that you have a short leg and need a "lift" in your shoe. I was actually tested for neuropathy in my legs. As I lay in the hospital with electricity running down my legs, I thought, "I just need a NUCCA chiropractor again." So disappointed at Dr Connor's conduct of business. She doesn't have a front receptionist, has odd hours, she's disorganized, and when you ask for something like a copy of your x-ray, she looked like I was robbing her. My impression is that she's unhappy at her job, she's impatient, and somewhat of a snob. I felt like I was putting in the effort of being cordial and patient with her but she appeared stone cold. She wrote in my file with incorrect information which is a terrible sign of incompetency which was major because I needed it for a personal injury case. Hello! Dr Shannon saved me! Unlike most chiropractors I've been to she actually takes X-rays and shows you exactly what is going on with your body. Having endured, put up with and suffered with on and off chronic back/hip pain these past 4 years, I decided to take a leap of faith with Dr. Connor. A month in, I stand as testament that I am so glad that I did! I found Dr. Connor on line after a friend from Seattle recommend a Nucca Chiropractor. I had never heard of this type of Chiropractor before and was somewhat reluctant because I had been to many regular Chiropractors and never found it to be very beneficial long term in preventing migraines. Also, I wasn't really having back trouble so I did not think my back had anything to do with my migraines.
