Horrible service. Unprofessional staff. Long waiting time. Sales focused. I got there 10 minutes early which was just enough time to fill out the paperwork, then had to wait 25 minutes after being put in a room just to finally see the doctor. I was surprised it wasn't one of the twins and was not expecting it to be this other dr. I saw him for about 7 minutes as he asked me questions did a mobility test and took an xray all within that frame. Then he tells me to come back in 20-30 minutes so he can look over my X-rays... I wait in my car, come back and end up waiting another 12 minutes before being sent in the room where I'm waiting again to see the dr. Once he comes in, he tried to sell me on stretches, massages, and adjustments and I'm instantly turned off. I tell him I'm short on time now and would like to get to the end of the appointment. He then takes me to a different area to adjust me and just seemed like an unpleasant experience within the first 30 seconds and I decided I did not want him adjusting me because he seemed hesitant and unsure. The massage therapists that I did see walking around did not look professional/well kept/ well groomed/ presentable. I would not want them touching my body. I spent about an hour and 40 minutes just in this long process. I asked the front desk if I could schedule a different appointment to talk about my X-rays and get adjusted since it was taking so long. I have been coming to this clinic for several months as part of my treatment for headaches and low back pain. I was seen by Dr. Marks which did a great job addressing all my concerns and took his time to go beyond just what I said I wanted. I had several concerns with my shoulder pain as well and Dr. Marks made sure to educate me further on the reasons for my pains. My chiropractic experience was great. He was thorough, he listened, and was kind. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for my massage. The entire experience was odd. When the massage therapist came out, he shook my hand and said "That's not a handshake- you shook my fingers" as if I were a child- and said "let's do it over." I was caught so completely off guard that I shook his hand again, stating that I had a pinched nerve in my shoulder and had very little strength in my right arm and that's why it felt weird. I should have trusted my instincts and not gone in. I was in a lot of pain and was there due to an injury from a car accident, on pain meds, had saved up for this visit, and wanted relief. He then proceeded to take me in the room and a few minutes in I expressed my desire to not speak to him extensively while I was getting the massage, as I was/am in an incredible amount of pain- literally breathing through the pain- and he basically said that's not how he works, and that he wants to describe, in detail, what he's doing. While he's massaging. Even though I specifically asked for silence (in a very polite way.) He then proceeded to give me the most painful massage I have ever had. He did ask about pressure and he did stop when I said it hurt- only to move somewhere else and do it all over again. When I asked him to do my arms and hands specifically, he told me we didn't have time but then proceeded to massage my back for another 10-15 minutes. I am injured from a car accident from Feb of 2018. I am a single mom and full time student and I had to save up for this. My injury was made worse by his massage, to the point where my muscles were swollen several days after. Twins chiropractic emailed me after my appointment to see how my experience was and I emailed him this review. (Some of it has been edited slightly for clarity and to change past/present tense.) No one replied back. Not one person. I want to state that I do not think my massage therapist was malicious, but he definitely did not give me the experience that I wanted. He didn't listen. He was unnecessarily aggressive. It hurt. Deep tissue seems contraindicated for anyone who is already injured. When I walked out, the receptionist (who was lovely) asked how my massage was, and my facial expression said it all- I also responded with an "Umm it was ok..." Not sure why she didn't pick up on my OBVIOUS physical and verbal cues. I didn't feel comfortable to state how I was feeling at that time as the reception area is so small, and I didn't want him to hear. The whole situation was VERY uncomfortable and I am VERY unhappy (and was in even more pain afterwards than when I walked in.) I would recommend the chiropractor but not the massage therapist. (An eccentric gentlemen in his late 40's, early 50's.) It's also pretty disappointing that I emailed the office right away to let them know my experience and NO ONE took the time to respond to me. I am extremely unsatisfied with their lack of customer service, and absolutely dismayed that my therapist was so rough, lacked basic listening skills, and made me feel like a child. I am 40. I have NEVER left a negative review anywhere before. But I just received a medical massage from somewhere else and when I told her my experience she was shocked and urged me to leave a review. I wouldn't have felt the need to write this for the world to see had they followed up with me in a timely manner so we could discuss what happened. If you do come here, know what to expect. For anyone who's unfamiliar, it's an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation throughout my entire body. At times I can be "fragile" for lack of a better word. Dr. Marks is able to feel my body and get it loose in a gentle way and at the same time gets me a fulfilling adjustment every time! Something else to think about is Dr. Marks is a pretty big dude. I'm 5'11, 175 pounds and physically fit, he has no problem moving and lifting my body to get the best results. Each has their own unique technique and I've left each time completely satisfied.
