If I could give Dr. Gillis 10 stars, I would. Because she is THAT good. I originally came in for severe TMJ pain in 2021 after my dentist recommended surgery that would require breaking my jaw and having it wired shut for weeks while it healed (sooo glad I didn't go that route). Because I was in so much pain, Dr. Gillis had me come in that day after the office closed so we could have plenty of time for a full consultation, do x rays, etc. That was the first time I have ever felt listened to and cared for by a healthcare professional like that. Based on her treatment plan, I was able to get my jaw pain under control and now I look forward to the adjustments for how good it makes the rest of my body feel as a result! In my 1.5 years of seeing Dr. Gillis, I have never once felt rushed during an appointment. She takes the time to check in and ask how my body is doing/feeling and genuinely listens to what I say. Dr. Gillis has been a life saver in multiple instances of my life. Once I threw my back out, and couldn't stand straight up for two days. After researching I decided to try Dr. Gillis out. After the first visit I was able to stand without pain, by the time my second appointment was finished I was back to 100% health. A few years later I injured myself working out. The staff is amazing. We showed up HOPING he could be seen he was in so much pain. I filled out paperwork as they took him right into the room. Stacey took x-rays and immediately noticed something wasn't right. She sent us home to wait as she sent x-rays marked URGENT to a radiologist who looked them over and Stacey was right!! When I left that day I was charged more than I had anticipated based on my conversation when I made the appointment. The woman at the front desk was not responsive to my concern. Although Stacy couldn't help me with my particular issue, I had to write a review because this office was just so awesome, welcoming, and friendly. I went in because I've been having terrible issues with acid reflux which I believed was do to a hiatal hernia I was diagnosed with, earlier this year. Once I got to the office, I was welcomed by a super friendly receptionist. She was holding and coddling a cute baby as the child's mom was receiving services. Right away I got the vibe that this is a really caring facility and it made me think of the saying "it takes a village to raise a child". The baby was so quiet and serene in the arms of the receptionist that you could just tell the people here and the environment is really conducive to a comfortable family practice. Upon meeting Stacy, she was super friendly and nice and let me explain why I was there. In my research I had read some people say they saw a chiropractor and were able to have their stomach pushed back into the correct positioning. Stacy let me know this is usually something that applied kinesiology could help with and since that's not her area of expertise, she wouldn't be the best option for help. She did suggest I get an allergy test and recommended me to a doctor. She also gave me a great resource to find a chiropractor that specializes in the kind of treatment I need. I still expected to pay for the consultation, but since Stacy wasn't able to really help I didn't get charged. I thought that was very nice and honest of the practice. Although she did take time out to see me and speak with me she didn't try to squeeze money out of me for the visit. I've had to deal with a lot of MDs recently and being rushed in and out of the office just for them to get money out of you became normal to me. So refreshing to see a practice that is really there to help the patients. read more

I can't explain how highly I recommend Dr Halpern and her staff. I initially met her at a marathon event a few years back where she was the vendor across from me. All day we observed her giving advice/back scans to people (mind you I still considered chiropractors to be complete quacks at this time) finally my friend wanted to check it out so I gave in and went too. After discovering my back was a horrific mess (I already was aware of this and just weeks before, my own doctor told me nothing was wrong with me) I went in for a consultation. Still the skeptic I refused to divulge any dirty details about my aches and pains (which after a lifetime of competitive sports was quite detailed). After the initial consultation I came back to get my results and Dr Halpern not only was able to tell me about every ache and pain I had (with no prior knowledge of them) she also wanted to see what my insurance covered and find me a doctor that took my insurance that she trusted would take care of me. She provided me with a card with my x-rays in case I was ever out of town and in need of an adjustment. (Keep in mind she wasn't my provider at this time and I had no intentions of getting treatment at this point-she was just generally being a good person). I received such professional, and courteous service (WAY above and beyond what my $20 consultation should have allowed, not to mention the "normal" customer service you received nowadays) that I decided to give her a try. Not long later my headaches went away, back aches were gone, numb fingers etc. I had NO idea I could be living pain free. Money constraints kept me from keeping up with it, but every chance I get I will go back in. Dr. Gillis and staff are very professional and are truly concerned about your health and well being. I went to several medical doctors, costing me over $5,000 and I still had chest pains (chronic indigestion / GERD) and migraine headaches. An intense lower back pain prompted me to visit Dr. Gillis at Harbor Family Chiropractic. She took X-rays of my back, clearly identified 3 areas that could be causing me issues and clearly described what some of the symptoms these issues could be causing. It turns out my back was causing all of my issues and my medical doctors "failed" to see this. Within 2 treatments, the intense lower back pain was completely taken care of and, after 6 treatments, my chronic indigestion / GERD is almost completely gone (down from pain every day to maybe once a week). Making the initial appointment, the staff is very professional and is willing to help. The consultation is what won me over. Dr. Gillis is very caring and truly listens to the patient to help her understand what is wrong. Using X-rays and experience, she easily pointed out the areas that were causing problems and listed the side effects of each - which matched my symptoms completely. I have been seeing Dr Gillis for the last 9 or so years. I've always been more than happy with the care I've received. Not only is Dr Gillis the best but the entire staff are always very friendly and helpful. Now that I'm 7 months pregnant my adjustments have become even more important. No only do they help keep back pain at bay that comes with all this extra weight distribution but helps tremendously with heart burn and keeping my immune system up. Not to mention the giant pregnancy pillow that has a hole for the belly so I can actually lay on my stomach comfortably and be supported.
