Food is always delicious, service always friendly and we love the rotating soups! And [[HIGHLIGHT]]cant beat the rooftop view[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]!

Our first visit was a success! We all enjoyed our subs and sandwiches. I had the hot steak which is one of their signature dishes. I had them add the grilled jalapeños that are offered on the steak supreme. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super friendly staff, and plenty of tables to dine at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a bar next door too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Two daily soups available as your side.

Italian sub

We were in the mood for sandwiches and decided to check out Shannon's Deli in downtown Lombard. The pasta salad was lacking a lot of flavor. It just tasted like noodles with a little grated cheese on it. The potato salad was alright. I prefer my homemade potato salad over theirs. We ordered two sandwiches as well which were the Italian and American subs that come with a pickle spear. The American sub was drowning in mustard and browned lettuce. The Italian sandwich was very chintzy on the meat. It was a very thin layer of Italian meats on bread. We paid $37 and it was definitely not worth it. I was really looking forward to trying this place and supporting a local business, but unfortunately it came up short for us. We won't be returning.

Veggie sub and soup.

How did I not know this was an awesome dine-in restaurant in downtown Lombard? I guess I thought "deli" more like take-out and not a real restaurant. And it is tucked around the corner from the main road so I only just walked by on my way to take the tunnel under the train and discovered it's huge! I am SO glad I found it! There are only a few vegetarian options but I found the veggie sub and cream of zucchini soup both excellent and filling. The sub comes on fresh bread with a bunch of different freshly sliced cheeses plus red peppers, cucumbers, onion, lettuce and tomato. I skipped the pesto mayo. They offer burgers, sandwiches, salads, subs and soups. Plus plenty of sides and desserts. The counter lady was super friendly and encouraged me to take a tour- deli, dining room, butcher shop and even an upstairs space with an outdoor deck. There is a take-out counter too with some amazing looking desserts including a $5 brownie that is the size of a small cake. Dining room is cute and cozy with tin paneling and a vintage ice chest adding to the charming decor. There was music playing and was quite crowded at 12:30 but was surprisingly pleasant- must have good acoustics as it didn't seem loud. The 3 TVs are on mute which is nice.

Italian sub, Reuben, and stuffed peppers soup

Great sandwhich shop. I always come for a sandwich and leave with more. Love their chicken salad to take home and eat on crackers. Also the homemade soups are awesome. Normally get a bowl to go also. Today I went with the Reuben and my gf went with the Italian sub no onions. As usual we spilt both. Very tender corn beef, kraut, thousand island on lite rye. Thousand island is weird on its own but delicious on the sandwhich, I think they food processed it so it makes it a bit more watery. The soup of the day was stuffed pepper, we had them put a bit of shredded cheese on it and it was delicious.

Shrimp po boy

Amazing shrimp po boy! The first time I went they were sold out and I was so sad, but ever since, they've been good at having the sandwich. A little pricey, but the flavor makes up for it! A nice reward on a Friday after working hard during the week.

If you're in the area, this Deli does a good job with a nice selection of salads to go with your lunch. As good, if not better than all the other shops similar, so you'll not be disappointed.

Build your own. Chicken salad sandwich with pepper jack on sourdough
Paloma B.

It was so good I stopped eating to immediately write this. Can't wait to finish the rest!!! Just stopped in to get lunch to go on my break. I got the build your own sandwich. Chicken salad sandwich with pepper jack cheese on sourdough, chips, a drink, and a lemon bar for $15 Very friendly staff and quick service. Chicken salad is very well seasoned and it comes with a generous portion in the sandwich. Lemon bar has just the right amount of sweet/tart balance. Definitely a new go-to for lunch as my office is in Lombard.

Dessert Table

I'm May we celebrated my daughter in law's graduation at Shannon's Deli. The party was a huge success. The staff was so accommodating. The food was so amazing and the space was perfect. We had the downstairs to decorate and hangout and than you could go on the rooftop for a change. I highly recommend. Even if you are not having a party just go for the food

3.5 stars, but rounded up because I didn't feel they deserved any deduction…read more I was REALLY looking forward to their #20 Old New Yorker, which I got in their Navel Cut pastrami. It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

Lots of fun deli sandwiches to choose from. I chose a French Dip; hubby had a pick two-- a cup of matzo ball soup, and 1/2 corned beef sandwich. Both served with a whole new pickle. Mine was absolutely delicious. Tons of beef, melty swiss, and grilled onion. Served nice and hot with a tasty au jus. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his as well. Great Jewish deli. Highly recommend whether you're Jewish or not! ;)

I've spent years searching for the perfect deli sandwich. Every time I'd find a place I liked,…read moresomething would eventually disappoint me. Maybe the bread wasn't fresh, the lunch meat tasted processed, or the quality just wasn't consistent. Tony & Tina's Deli is the first place that has truly become my go-to. I absolutely love their subs, especially the Brayden. I always order the large, and it's packed with so much fresh meat that I can give a generous portion of the turkey to my toddler as a snack and still have a full sandwich left for myself. That's saying something! Their potato salad is also outstanding. It tastes homemade, not like something scooped out of a mass-produced container. It's exactly the kind of potato salad you picture enjoying on a hot summer day. What really sets Tony & Tina's apart is the customer service. The owners genuinely care about their customers. I've only had one issue, and it wasn't even their fault. It was a delivery service problem. They personally responded and made sure everything was handled professionally and promptly. If you haven't been there yet, give them a try. Grab a sandwich, check out the desserts, and if you're feeling lucky, they even have gaming machines. If you're busy and work from home like I do, their app makes ordering incredibly easy. Tony & Tina's has earned a customer for life!

DELICIOUS sandwiches! We also discovered that they use a local bakery for FRESH BAKED "FANTASTIC" BREAD! But it did not stop there... The owner (Tony) informed us that the Ham, Turkey, and Beef, are all prepared FRESH on site (This is NOT processed "Lunch meat"). I enjoyed the Italian sandwich, and my dining partner had the Club... Very delicious, generous portions, and fair pricing. We placed an order for a variety of 100 catered mini-sandwiches and Tony took special care to treat us right... THANKS Tony! It's a joy to visit a restaurant (Or any business) where the owners are personally Operating it and engaging with the guests... This place is a MUST VISIT!! Did I say, WOW, WOW, WOW?
