The last time I was in the area, this place was still under construction. I was back there a couple weeks ago, it was open, so I decided to give it a try. Had their daily special, which was the chicken kabob plate for $9.99. I believe the regular price is $15.99. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food for the money. Two skewers full of chicken, rice, salad, Greek potatoes & garlic bread. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch. The chicken was a bit dry but still had good flavor. The sides were all pretty good as well. They have different all-day specials on Monday - Thursday. I would go back for this deal. read more

my husband grew up in Elmhurst and was so excited when Yorky's opened on St Charles. Weve been there several times and it seems to get worse each time. After today we won't be back. the food was mediocre at best, the girls behind the counter were far more interested in their phones and chatting than taking care of customers. with the price of eating out there are far better options and better quality. read more

Made my way in on a Thursday night and it was packed. I once had a chili cheese dog at their original restaurant. I hadn't had one in a very long time, unless you count the cheese coneys when I recently visited Cincinnati. These are nothing like those. Chili has beans and they use pump cheese. It was a sloppy mess and not a huge fan of the chili. They give you a mound of fries and just had to get a cup of cheese for them. They have Pepsi products and brewed ice tea. I'll have to explore more of their extensive menu. They really did a nice job on the remodel and they have a staff member on the floor picking up the dishes. It's kept very clean. read more

We finally made it - why did it take us so long?? The staff was patient, while we looked over the large menu.. so many great choices. I settled on the steak kabobs dinner - fantastic! The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly.. the rice, potatoes and salad.. everything was seasoned very well. My husband ordered the Tilapia Dinner - which was also delicious, (I always try his food) the tilapia was served with the same sides and paired well. The dining area was cute.. plenty of space. Good quality fast food. Growing up my father had a gyros restaurant in Arlington Heights for 30 years where I often worked . This is the closest I have come to his quality. It is always charred nicely and not undercooked like most places. They give you a healthy serving of gyros meat. I asked them to make my gyros on French bread like I used to do at dad's restaurant and they accommodated no problem. I asked for Greek potatoes instead of fries and got eight half pieces of potato. I've been here at the new location five times and each time was a good value for the dollar. The food is fresh and made with care. Service was fast and pleasant. read more

Love that they opened a new branch here in Elmhurst, right by Route 83 and St. Charles Road! We usually go to the Yorkys on York Road, and we've always been fans of their broasted chicken and shrimp. Such a great spot to dine in--we'll definitely be back to try this new location again! read more

I grew up in Bensenville and used to go to the York Road location for over 20 years and they were always excellent I moved to Villa Park and stopped going because it wasn't a convenient location Now that they've opened at Saint Charles Road near Route 83 I can tell you they are still awesome This evening, I had a gyros dinner which included french fries, two sauces, and a Greek side salad with olives and feta for $15.99 It was worth every penny and much cheaper than the local gyros restaurant I've patronize for the last 20 years! Loved yorky's over years from their north e-town/bensenville location for what is was -- good fair priced chicken burgers etc spot. Got the "Steak Yorky" -- and chewed my way through half of it or so. Ribeye steak? I couldn't get through this slab of chewy fat. Nothing wrong w cheap steak, no need for fancy, but woof this was a dog toy not a sandwhich. No pickles either -- despite menu saying includes. Wish em' luck at this tough location notorious for spitting out joints one after the other -- but I don't think I'm going back, sorry guys. Enjoy my $13... I sure didn't.. read more

The food is really tasty but I'm not so sure about the flatbread concept... my sandwich fell apart immediately. Plus not enough beef on the sandwich and way too many peppers :/ The problem with service, whether it's new hires or lax management, is that they offered free food to their friends before paying customers received their orders. Unprofessional and disappointing. I'm willing to try again in a few months to see if they've improved their practices but, knowing this is a second location, I hope management steps it up. read more

The food is just average. Soggy fries with the waaaay overpriced Gyros that was the size of an Italian sausage sandwich. Nice new building they have to pay for I guess. The counter girls are friendly. Seats are uncomfortable, made to turn and burn people in and out quickly. 18 bucks for a gyros and fries. No drink. read more

Way overpriced for very average food. $7 for a hot dog?! That's the cost of two Portillo's dogs you can get down the street. I mean $7 for a hot dog? That's got to be 1000% margin at least. Steak sandwich was horrible. For a namesake sandwich, you need higher quality meat. This is all fat and gristle. And you have to know this when you put it on the grill. We've been to the original Yorky's in Elmhurst on York Road but wanted to see what 'Yorky's 2.0' was like. Such a pleasant experience. It's right at the intersection of 83 and St. Charles Road. Plenty of parking and a convenient pick up lane/window for to-go orders. The menu is plentiful. I noticed the chefs carving the GYRO in the kitchen and that inspired me to order the Gyro Dinner Platter (which leaves plenty for left overs - if you want a second meal later). Portions are generous for the price charged. Menu has a broad variety. Something for everyone. The food is fresh and flavorful and high quality. But I'd suggest something with meat. They do it right! The desserts are rich. I tried the rice pudding - made in house daily. Not to be missed. The ice cream shakes are extra creamy. You can order wine by the glass or enjoy a bottle of beer. The decor is industrial contemporary yet extremely comfortable and excellent lighting. The fireplace in the middle is very inviting and you'll see a game playing from all angles. Hours are until midnight Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights so it's a great place to hang with friends and enjoy a late dinner or bite. With warmer temps there's an attractive outdoor seating area to enjoy. I noticed the catering truck outside and realized how special it could be to have Yorky's handle catering for a big event. FAST FOOD???? What a joke, I had high hopes for this place. Went there Tuesday night, ordered a simple cheeseburger and a gyros TO GO at 6:40. After 3 trips up to the counter we FINALLY left with my (dry as the desert and as hard as a hockey puck burger) and skimpy gyros and cold fries, at 7:10. We've been anxiously awaiting the opening of this second location of Yorky's, as the spot could not be more convenient for us. I had been going to the original location for years and was always a fan, so we finally braved the opening week crowd and ordered carry out. The gyros are kind of ridiculous, which is tough to pull off without tasting like every other gyro out there. Don't get me wrong, any gyro is a good gyro, but these are special. Crinkle fries are not my personal preference, but they were crispy and salty so that'd be a win. The chili is unique and tasty with a small bit of heat coming from some kind of developed pepper combination. My wife loved the breaded mushrooms (HUGE thanks to "de-facto" manager that helped us out [Jacqueline maybe??] as she could not have been more accommodating), and lastly, the broasted chicken was of course phenomenal. This is some of the best chicken I've ever had. Just be aware they have had an extra busy opening and things will take a little longer until everything smooths out, be patient and kind and enjoy a great meal. read more
