I started noticing he would growl when I touched him, which was very out of character. At first, I didn't think much of it, but as it worsened, I examined him more closely and was shocked to discover scabbed areas under both of his front legs, resembling severe rugburn. After another hike, I checked him immediately upon return and found his front legs raw and bleeding in multiple spots, with his fur matted in tight knots. I took him to urgent care, and the veterinarian confirmed the wounds were fresh trauma. My dog is 8 years old and very active, but because he's never been off leash before, I had specifically requested that he be kept leashed on hikes. The other dogs were off-leash, and I worry that while trying to keep up with the group, the handler, Caitlin, may have dragged him when he couldn't keep pace. I reached out to Mary for an explanation but received no clear response or indication of concern for my dog's condition. I asked Mary if she would cover the vet bill. Instead, she said she wanted to speak directly with my vet. When I brought that request to my vet, they informed me that she did not have a right to access my pet's medical information due to HIPAA laws. Despite everything, I was kind enough to let the situation go--but I refused to pay the bill for the hike where my dog was injured. Now Mary is charging my account anyway. A good business owner would have shown concern and at the very least offered an apology. Instead, she has shown no empathy and no accountability. This experience was incredibly distressing. I cannot recommend Merrypets based on what happened and how poorly it was handled. My dog has had no more injuries since he stopped going out with Merry Pets. He's happy again and no longer growls at me.

When I picked her up, a caretaker had to physically lift her from the couch and carry her out. I wish I didn't just take a photo, but a video. Piper had stayed many times before but this was the first since she developed diabetes. I was told they could still care for her. Every time prior she would get "tummy issues" because she was a nervous dog and that cutesy language was enough to communicate in instances prior. This last time, not so much. I wish that this did not happen and i was not writing this review. I wish that I could have given my pet a better end if this was her ultimate end because of her diabetes. I hope that DogMode takes Piper's end and uses clear and direct language moving forward. On a customer care note I also will convey that when I went in to talk to the manager about my dogs death, I was told they could not meet and turned away. I had to return several hours later, in which time they took to call the emergency vet and illegally obtain my dogs records. I also felt a violation when I did get to speak with the manager when they insinuated my dog would have died anyway from her diabetes.

Lots structures for dogs to play on. The dogs get a lot of interaction and exercise. While it took his paws some time to tough up to the hard surfaces, I appreciate that that means he's always fairly clean vs playing in dirt and gravel. They've been proactive about communicating any issues they notice on him, like his paw sensitivity which has since resolved itself. All of the employees seem to really enjoy being there and their jobs. I appreciate that they are open for pickup until 7pm! They also offer affordable upgrades for bath or pool time. I imagine this place wouldn't work out for people visiting SLC because you'd have to arrange a fecal test, vaccine paperwork, and a trial day before they'll schedule you. It's worth noting that they also don't allow unfixed/neutered dogs and since we waited 1.5 years, we weren't able to visit until more recently. The one thing I wish they had is crates to enforce some "calm down" time for our overly excitable pup.

He listened to my specific concerns (biting, barking, using the house as a port-a-potty) and addressed each one through training - training of both myself and the new dog. With his training and following "homework" training at home, my little guy has gone from violating most of the Geneva Convention to being a happy gentleman. I cannot recommend the Canine Mind enough, and if the other trainers are even in the same ballpark as Steven, then all of them will do absolute wonders for any dog!

Staff member gently tipped over the tree to try to get ahold of Caboose, but Caboose jumped to the top of the next tree. This went on a few times and my husband and daughter were howling with laughter. Finally hubby took pity and picked up Caboose. The price increases over holidays, but that's normal.
