Disappointing Experience - Poor Service and No Accountability Came in for threading, but the person attending me was more focused on pushing their membership than actually doing a good job. Despite explaining I just wanted the service, my eyebrows were done horribly--there's now almost a 1-inch gap between them and they're completely different shapes. When I went back to cancel the membership, they outright refused. What kind of place doesn't allow cancellations or refund the remaining balance? On top of that, they were unapologetic and tried to gaslight me by saying it "looked good." Absolutely unacceptable. read more

A small salon that's tucked away upstairs, steps from the Cap Hill Link station. I was recommended this spot by a friend and I was happy with my experience here. I feel like I'm fairly picky about my brows and leaving them slightly on the thicker side, and they did a great job. The lady doing my eyebrows was super meticulous and did a nice job shaping it without making the brows too thin. For a one-off visit, definitely on the pricier side. Please note, your threading and tinting will be done publicly in front of all the other waiting customers, unless you request to be taken upstairs to the lie down bed. The prices are reasonable. They will push you for a membership but you are not obligated to sign up. The prices are listed on the wall as you walk in. They do an array of services. You can come in either walk in or appointment. Sometimes the walk in line can be long, especially on weekends. I highly recommend them! I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

Located steps from the Capitol Hill link station, this is the second in a string of hair removers in Seattle. This city will benefit from more threading salons. Perhaps my Gyal Puja at Prefect Brows in Long Beach, CA will expand to a pier in the far north. Relocating here for work necessitated this visit. The shop is tucked into a an upstairs unit on Capitol Hill. Hiking up from the bottom of Stewart in 90 degree weather was... an adventure. The lack of AC was certainly a sad face emoji (perhaps even with a tear). The chair was also not the reclining kind to which I am accustomed (check out my Perfect Brows review). At least my threading lady was nice. I am a sucker for great customer service. She had great conversation, moved quickly, and was reasonably gentle. The eyebrow job was a 50% fail. My left brow was left with a bite mark of missing hair - crying emoji. Underarms went better. The room upstairs reminded me of a clinic room in Central America. Thankfully the AC was working up there. She expertly used our alone time to pitch the membership plan. To be fair, if you like their services, it is a good deal. Sigh... it definitely depends on who you get. Tried to stay with Pooja but she wasn't there on a day she usually was and the other gal who's name I forgot made one brow noticeably thinner than the other. The other brow looked GREAT. Luckily, I'm a pro at filling my brows in so am I crushed? No. Would someone else be? Probably. I will call and make sure Pooja is there before I walk in going forward. I've been going to Shanti since I moved to Seattle a few months ago. The main reason I go is the low price. I have a lot of hair that grows very quickly, and I take full advantage of the three month unlimited brow lip chin package. It's really affordable, and having the package makes it quick and easy to check out after the service. I'll echo the other reviews and say, it definitely depends on who you get. There is one woman who is super thorough and always does a great job, even if there are a lot of people waiting. She has really long hair, I'll have to get her name. The other girls tend to rush through, leaving lots of stray chin hairs, especially if I come when it's busy (which is like every day after 5pm.) If I didn't live so close and they didn't have the package deal, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here. They also finish the treatment with rose water instead of aloe, which smells nice but makes me break out every time. Another con, they play the news all the time which is very un-relaxing for a beauty treatment. Music would be better. read more

I typically come in on a whim so I don't make an appointment ahead of time. they take walk-ins and if it's going to be a longer wait, they'll let you know. What I love is their pre-paid card! You pay for 6 sessions up front (at a discount) and you can use those sessions at any time, there's no expiration. The ladies working are always friendly and also great at their job. I came here as its semi in my neighborhood. I got to the salon and there was one women, but she listened, she was accurate, and handled the payment prior to the actual service which is ideal. I got a YELP'ON for being a first time customer and was very pleased with the service. I don't get this service done every often, however when I go I love it. I have to say she was very informative and knew what she was doing. Normally the pain is sooo intense, but the women was amazing. I know why your thinking why didn't they get a 5 star: prices are 25 bucks for a services I was getting in NYC in the financial district for $10 bucks total and 25 is a little steep, however its very convient then where I normally go. This is my regular eyebrow salon. Today I got a chance to meet sangeeta she was at broadway salon. As she is a part of university district branch she comes to broadway twice a week. What a nice lady was use smooth while she did my eyebrows no pain at all. As today my package was getting over I had to renew it. Which usually is six seating unlimited with $60. But she told me if I renew today for my next six seating will get extra $5 off. Which is something again great I got the deal right away and paid $55 only for six seating. She is a perfect sales person too. Well I had made up my mind to renew next time but she changed it. I don't get my eyebrows threaded very often, just every couple of months or so to maintain shape, but Shanti does a great job every time. I'm always happy with the shape of my brows and they get all the stray hairs that I miss when I tweeze. Yes the $15 price point is a bit steep compared to other salons in the suburbs, but they are located in Seattle (not Kent or Tacoma like the other salons many reviews are comparing their prices to), so they have a higher cost of running their business. I recently purchased a 6 pack of lip + eyebrow sessions for $85, which is much cheaper than the normal price of $25 a session. I've never made an appointment and I have never waited more than 10 min for a session. I'd recommend shanti if you want a salon that's close by to the city, accessible, and quick! read more

As others have said, service here is very inconsistent. I got the 3 visit deal and the first time my brows were good, second time was OK, third time was bad. The third time my brows were threaded waaay too thin and were extremely uneven. Using the pen trick, the pen is slanted connecting bottom edge to bottom edge. That wasn't the case before I went. Hopefully brow serum will help my brows grow back faster. read more

I was in town for a wedding and desperately needed to get my eyebrows done. She was really good at shaping but left a lot of little hair. I had to keep asking her to remove those. Overall, a good place to get your threading done, but be firm in what you want. Also, they have no fan or AC and it was sooo hot in there! read more

I've never been threaded before and saw that Shanti had good reviews. Went there and did the eyebrow, lip, and chin package. Was in and out in under 10 mins and not a single hair missed! She put a delicious rose water all over my face after... the perfect touch! We're moving in a couple of weeks or I would have bought one of the really well priced packages they have to offer. So excited that Shanti opened up on Captiol Hill! I've been going to the U-Dist location since they opened. I find threading to be so much better than waxing. It is pain free, fast and costs next to nothing. Plus you don't have to walk around with bright red eyebrows for hours afterwards. If you currently get your eyebrows waxed then I highly recommend giving threading a try. You'll never go back. I went to this new location in the Broadway Market building for the first time last night. Got right in and left with perfect eyebrows in a few min just like at their U-Dist spot. So... Eyebrows cleaned up, worked out and picked up ingredients for dinner. Excellent! On another note, I think there is some sort of conspiracy going on to ensure that the only place I patronize is the Broadway Market... It is only a block away from my apartment and was already where I did my grocery shopping, wine and liquor shopping, shoe repairs and working out. In the last month I have been watching the vacant spaces slowly fill up with everything I used to have to go elsewhere for: Wells Fargo, T-mobile and now SHANTI! Can't believe I've been coming here since my first day in Seattle which was like four years ago and I still haven't posted a review! Shame on me lol! If you wanna get your eyebrows/waxing done this is the place I recommend. I come here every week - let's say I'm blessed in that department. They have a wonderful three months unlimited sessions package which makes it super affordable to get my eyebrows, upper lip and chin done all the time. They also have another package which is 6 sessions anytime within three months. My husband prefers that one. I've been the the university, cap hill and Ballard location.
