Poor customer service. Brought my two year old in for his second hair cut, it was a terrible experience. We just walked in, not knowing if they would be available. There were two people cutting hair, one woman who cut my son's hair the first time and another woman. The woman who cut his hair didn't take the time necessary to get my son comfortable. He was scared of the clippers, as it was only his second time. She refused to do any line up, leaving chunks of hair around his hair and face uneven. She refused to use scissors because it was "dangerous", my son was screaming and needed to be held on my lap. He was sobbing, traumatized. Despite clearly explaining what we wanted, our instructions were ignored and the stylist chose to do what they wanted instead. Awful service. The lady at the front desk is the rudest and unfriendliest people I have ever had to speak with. The haircuts are subpar, always a 50/50 chance your kids hair is a disaster or decent. We will not be going here again. You are better off taking your child to sports clips or cutting the hair yourself. Ive always had luck at these children's hair cut places but this time i'm less than impressed, i came home with a butchered almost 2 year old. I asked for short (clippered) on the sides and longer on too especially at the cowlick, his hair is cut unevenly all around, its short on one side of his head than the other, cowlick so short it's standing straight up and it cant even be styled to lay down. When i asked for a bit of water and gel to style it before we left she sprayed him with some sort of oil that left him looking greasy on top of chaotic hair. So upset by this service. read more

Online shows no charge for a braid, stylists also never disclosed a charge for the braid. I've seen that this location has charged extra for services before. Wesley Chapel - I spent $70 on 2 kids hair cuts (a baby and my 5 year old). $30 on my 1 year old's hair cut. They said it was a cut, wash and dry..... my son did not have a wash nor a blow dry. I simply wanted him to have a quick cut (as he is just a baby). Appt was at 3PM I had to wait around with 2 of my kids for over 30 mins. It was chaotic and a pretty awful experience overall. The worst salon Ive ever dealt with. I made an appt for my son and we called to say we were running a few moments late, and the stylist had already left. What is the point of making an appointment then, the appt slot should of been closed off for bookings. We've had a great experience with Chelsie in the past, but this left a bad taste in my mouth and I wont be returning. I asked for the owners (Falgun) telephone number to let them know what occured and messaged them, no call or message was returned, so that solidified my choice to not return. Additionally, many times we've waited on the stylist and was rather patient for her to cut my sons hair, so the fact that we had an appt, and called to say we were running a bit late, was doing my client part and being courteous. The salon on the other part was not. Not only was no call put in to me that Chelsie had already left(appt was 3:20p, called at 3:23p to say running late), and she was already out the door. So was she planning to cut my sons hair in 5 mins or did someone forget to block off the schedule? I asked to be accomodated and the rude lady on the phone told me they couldnt even though I had an appt made. After getting agigated, I hung up the phone and walked into the salon and chatted with the very empathetic african american girl at the front. Them comes the lady who was rude on the phone(heavy set black hair). I asked for her name and she told the african american girl to not give her name. So then I asked for the owners name and telephone #. She told me I was "8mins late", which was true, but Chelsie was gone since I called earlier, which is terrible operations. I later found out, the heavy sets ladys name is SAYURI and shes just loud and obnoxious. I wont ever be returning, and I will write my reviews on all platforms to make people aware of the terrible experience I had. Awful operations, awful service recovery. Additionally, I had to find someone quick to cut my sons hair since we were traveling the next morning. We found another chain and not only were they so accomodating and understanding, but much cheaper for a hair trim. read more

My son got his first hair cut ever today with LORI. We had an appointment at 230 and we were seen at that time. Lori was very friendly and caring for our sons first cut. She made sure he was going to have a look we liked and constantly checked to make sure that we were happy! She did a great job cutting his hair and keeping him happy! We had been regular customers at Sharkey's since our kids were babies. However last night we had a terrible experience that, unfortunately, solidified that we will not be going back. Before booking our two appointments I asked if we could book with the staff who wears a mask. I was told that "none of the staff working that night wore a mask" but we could "ask them to wear one" while cutting our children's hair. So when we arrive, the stylist (who unfortunately would not give me her name, but she has blondish highlights and wears a lot of bracelets on her left hand) that also booked our appointment already looked annoyed at us upon arrival. My daughter gets her hair washed and nails done by a masked staff member. Then the unmasked stylist approaches to start the cut, I asked her to put her mask on before we proceed and she rolled her eyes, says "oh yea" with an extremely rude attitude, and then begrudgingly walks up to the front desk to get one. While up at the front desk she started muttering in Spanish to another staff member about me being the "one who asked about masks" when I booked the appointment. My husband who is fluent in Spanish could hear all of her complaints and asked her if there was a problem. She then continues to exert a very rude attitude toward us and raises her voice while talking. At that point I no longer felt comfortable with this woman touching my child's hair, especially since she was so quick to give such an attitude to us. We left (with my daughter having wet hair and all). I really hope the managers make some changes because we have never felt so disrespected as we did that night. This extremely unprofessional and rude staff member is souring the reputation of this place. Very disappointed in our experience. read more

The seats were like a little car, so he loved that. As soon as the clippers started he was a little startled, but they had lollipops, which totally calmed him down. Crystal is AMAZING!! My son got nicked at a precious barber and hasn't been able to get a haircut since until we met Crystal. Yesterday was our second experience with hee and it was just as amazing as the first. She is so patient and kind. Aida completely ruined my daughter's bangs. Mind you she told me she has 15 years experience. She could obviously tell she wasn't doing what I wanted because Then she called Chelsie over to help fix the problem and she made it worse. I'm always nervous taking my baby to get her bangs trimmed but before we moved here, I had taken her twice for her bangs trim (not at Sharkys) and everything turned out great. We just moved here and boy do I regret going here. They cannot be fixed, I am devastated. luckily it's hair and it'll grow back but mamas beware. i can't believe I even have to say this but If the first stylist messes up and goes to grab another stylist make sure you ask what her plan is and if she feels it can even be fixed. Also the car chairs they advertise about don't work, no lights or Sounds. needless to say first experience was absolutely horrific we will not back and don't recommend either of those stylists. Don't get me wrong, everyone was very nice. First thing that happened was a woman asked if I wanted her to wash my daughter's hair. I said "no, my daughter just took a shower" she sat my daughter down and proceeded to wash her hair. This is an extra fee by the way. Then, they spent 10 minutes cutting my daughter's hair. Asked if I wanted a braid for her. I said no. I did not know at the time, but this is also an extra fee. Walked to the register, $34.... + a tip. We have been here a few times. My kids are distracted by the games and TV which is a plus. My daughter has always been fairly happy with her trims. And until now I've been okay with the cuts and trims my son has had. Today though I left angry. I took my son with nearly shoulder length curls in to have his hair cleaned up for pictures. There isn't even enough hair left to complete a curl. I kept asking are you sure he'll still have his curls. "Yeah he'll have them." Nope! No curls. Maybe the hint of what may become a curl, eventually. When I told her I didn't like it her response was, "maybe it seems so short because it was so long." Yeah! It was supposed to stay long too. Maybe a 1/2 to an 1" max should have come off total to clean it up. So I'm giving two stars because until now I've been overall satisfied. But I'm going to have to look at my son's butchered hair for months before he starts to look like himself again. read more

Although I do think $20 (not including tip) is too much to pay for a 2 year old boy hair cut, I was impressed with this place. My son who normally is kicking and screaming when it comes to buzzers hesitantly sat in the firetruck and got his hair cut. It had a working pedal, sirens and he even had the choice to watch whatever on his own tv at the station. When he started to get upset they turned a bubble machine on and gave him a lollipop. This is my favorite place to bring my 3 year old son to get his haircut. The environment is kid friendly and they get to pick which car they get their haircut in, they even get to pick what they want to watch. The employees are perfect with the kids and they explain everything they are doing before they do it so it doesn't scare the child. It's always a bonus for my son that he gets to pick out a balloon at the end and of course he has to pose with Sharkey outside to show off his new haircut! read more

My daughter had her first haircut at Sharkey's and we will definitely be back! The staff was so friendly, the atmosphere was perfect for kids, and they did a wonderful job. She got a shampoo, cut and dry all while enjoying her favorite friends Elsa and Anna from Frozen. We opted for the first haircut certificate with lock and it was great, even came with a picture. My daughter also got a "minicure" and picked her own nail polish which dried very quickly and lasted several days, which is great for a 3 year old! They also gave her a small ring, decorate her hair with a cute butterfly clip, and put stick on gems to complete her look. She was adorable! The prices were great, the services were excellent, and my daughter has begged me to book Sharkey's for her birthday. We will definitely be back as regular customers. read more

Highly recommend for little girls! I was a little hesitant as they were busy and there were the usual first haircut screaming babies that put my daughter on edge, but I'm so glad we gave it a chance. My daughter excitedly sat in the Frozen car for her trim, and picked out butterfly clips to add to her braid (they also have flowers). Then she got her nails painted (no extra charge), and got to pick out a ring, lollipop, and balloon! Such a steal for $23! Our 1st visit with Sharkey's and we were SO impressed! My almost 4 year old daughter came in for a haircut and was non-stop pampered the whole visit! She had a smile on her face from start to finish. Diana cut her hair and did a great job! She made my daughter very comfortable throughout the whole process. Then, another staff member painted her fingernails for her and let her pick out a ring, lollypop & balloon! My daughter was super happy and all of the employees there were very friendly. Ugh! I'm so disappointed with this place. About a week ago I took my daughter to get a hair cut. She has really curly hair. Her hair was down to her lower back and she wanted it short to about her shoulders, so it's a major cut we're not talking about just getting her ends cut. The wait was pretty quick but then again it was a Wednesday. The lady took us back to wash her hair. She looked like she was struggling to get the hair tie out which annoyed me bc in the process she's pulling my kids hair, so I looked at her and said let me do it after she washed her hair we went over to the chair so she can start cutting, she asked me how short and I told. I was a little shocked when she tied my daughter hair and cut the bottom part off. I just can't imagine this coming out even. Like I mentioned my child has curly hair and her hair was wet when we left so a few days later i had straightened her hair and of course I realized then that her hair is not even!! Now I have to go and get it fixed. Part of me wants to go back so they can fix it but then the other part is like I do t want them to mess it up more. This was the first time visiting this haircut place for my husband Son and I. I was visiting Tampa for the weekend and my son needed a haircut. So of course I got on yelp and I found this place. I immediately made an appointment and was ready for that amazing adventure I was about to embark on with my two-year-old son in that chair. After we got there he was playing with the little cart area that they have and then we put him in the police car chair. He immediately knew that he was going to get a haircut and started crying and wanted to go home. The hairdresser was very sweet and quick. She use the clippers and got his side and also cut the top of his hair with scissors. She cleaned him up very nicely and at the end he got a balloon and a lollipop. I was although a little confused about the pricing because on the flyer it said shampoo cut and style for $20 for boys. I pay $20 just for a cut. Excellent service, we stopped by because my son needed a hair cut and they have a special offer that they provide washing hair and painting nails for the girls if they get a haircut, so my daughter got a haircut too and enjoyed the spa experience for free!
