I usually like Potbelly and haven't had a bad experience there, but today changed that. I had ordered the apple walnut salad and the grapes that came in it were just so gross and old. Came here for lunch while in town and got the no chicken Mediterranean. I'd never been to a Potbelly before and love that they have a few different vegetarian subs (as a pescatarian, my only options are usually tuna and the generic veggie sub). My sandwich was really good with fresh ingredients, and all of the staff were energetic. Their multigrain bread also had great flavour and structure. It was busy when I visited but the line moved pretty fast thanks to the efficient setup. The atmosphere in the building is warm and inviting. Compared to other sub chains, I'd rate it above both Subway and Jersey Mike's in the customer service, and above Subway in quality of food, maybe slightly above Jersey Mike's but mostly just different. Depending on the shop, you MIGHT still get a slightly better sub from a local place, but this definitely holds up. read more

First i want to say that i worked for potbelly's for 2 years so I know how the service should be. I ordered two original sandwiches and both were made incorrectly when the topping were also repeated back to me so there was no reason it should have been made incorrectly. I didn't realize they were made incorrectly until I was home. So imagine my frustration having to inconveniently drive right back up to the store again. When I came back I told them my order was made incorrectly and a man sent them through the oven and apologized. The same lady who dressed my sandwich before and messed them up made them again. She had short dark blond hair. I told her she messed up my sandwich and she said she got confused, okay. Then while me saying my toppings after already being frustrated she continues to rush me while i'm saying my topping doing hand gestures implying for me to hurry up, when she was the reason why I had to drive back up to the store inconveniently in the first place. A girl in the red shirt found this situation funny, she had dark hair with purple highlights. I asked them if i could get hot pepper juice on my sandwich which wasn't on my sandwich before and they both told me they didn't have enough hot pepper oil and they weren't going to refill it. Which I worked for the company before I know this isn't the right way to handle things. This was by far the worst experience i've ever had with getting fast food. Never again will I come back here. They also offered nothing for the inconvenience which is usually the procedure for something's like this!! read more

Today I ordered from the app. I went to the Dekalb store. Upon arriving I saw a note on the door that said they were closed and would open at 4:00 P.M. I looked around and rechecked my app and it stated they were open. Just when I was about to leave someone opened the door and asked my named and proceeded to hand me my order. I asked what happened. I was I firmed they made my order , there isn't a way to cancel the app. I was beyond delighted. They could have canceled my order but didn't. Kaden who is a District Manager is fantastic. When it comes to fast food finding quality can be a chore in DeKalb. There's a lot of poor quality, greasy burger joints around. Fortunately, Potbelly is a better (yet still average) alternative to Subway (yawn) and Jimmy John's (bland) while remaining about at par with Jersey Mike's and Panera. On the other hand, there's far more options than Jersey Mikes and plenty of soups available, too. What I enjoyed with this Potbelly is the inviting atmosphere. You get free wi-fi, wonderful, friendly service, spacious seating and fair pricing. Beyond that, expect what all Potbelly stores offer: a quick turnaround on fair sandwiches at a price that's respectable. This is one of the better Potbelly's I've been to. read more

They always give way too many hot peppers on my sandwich and the front lady was so rude when they gave me multigrain bread instead of white bread and did not want to change it for me. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. And even they even asked my boyfriend (WHO IS HISPANIC) if he paid after he had already paid. And she was talking so poorly to her black coworker. I definitely sense racism. I tried this place during my last visit to DeKalb and, I must say, it was pretty good! To be honest, it was the decoration that caught my attention; it has a very warm, cozy, rustic look to it. I was unaware that this was a chain establishment, since (to me, at least) it doesn't look/feel like one. The girls behind the counter were very friendly and patient with me. I ordered the tuna salad and my boyfriend got the pulled pork; they were both pretty good. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because I wish they had a bigger variety, since I can be a little picky at times. I was also surprised that they don't carry spinach, which I thought was a pretty common thing? Potbelly is a chain restaurant, and this is a good location. I love the sandwiches and soups here; I always get the broccoli cheese soup with the warmed ham and Swiss sandwich. Not only does Potbelly's have amazing sandwiches, but they also have exceptional customer service. I placed an order for delivery while I was at work, and an hour later I didn't receive anything. I called the store and found out that the delivery driver's car had stalled. They called another delivery driver, who jumped out of the shower, and picked up my food and brought it to me. I received my sandwiches complimentary, and the driver asked me to not tip him. Of course I still did, just for his troubles, and then a few weeks later, I received a Potbelly's gift card. Not only is the food bland and overpriced, their GM had me towed while I was INSIDE of Starbucks... (I go there often to use wi-fi). The GM calls the tow company and has about 5 cars towed everyday even if he has no idea what the person is doing in the shopping complex. AWFUL place. read more
