Hello everyone. Praying that all is well for us all. I know that it has been a minute, but I'm back with my review for sharks, fish and chicken in Merrillville on route 30 or Lincoln Highway. I had to go to the post office and due to the tornado that hit Merrillville yesterday we lost power and it still has not returned. So after I left the post office I decided to pick up dinner for myself and dad. I think it's a southern thing, but I'm used to having fried fish, spaghetti, and coleslaw on Fridays for dinner. The parking lot was full, and there were a couple of people ahead of me who had placed a very large order for their family reunion, meet and greet. Sorry, I was so hungry and in a rush that I did not take many pictures. But I ordered their combo which you can choose to get two of the meats or three and I chose three. The price was pretty good as well. It was $17.99 for a combo. Your choices were catfish steaks Jack, salmon, which I found out is Whiting, fish, catfish, fillets, three jumbo shrimp, tilapia, catfish fillets or ocean perch. I chose the three combo and ordered: Catfish steaks, catfish fillets and shrimp. The combo comes with French fries and coleslaw. For 18 bucks I got two catfish fillets. (large catfish fillets), two catfish steaks and probably about 10 shrimp. So it was a good bang for your buck especially these days with all of these high prices. They were very busy putting together a large orders so they do do catering and they have family meals as well. But the service was quick and it didn't take that long for the order to be ready. Overall experience five stars Customer Service was good as well. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. I waited 41 minutes for catfish dinner and then I went in and asked where is my food. The lady said I was just about to bring it out to you. I said no thanks it does not take that long to cook CATFISH! I asked for the owner she said he stepped out. Really??? read more

Always a good choice. The wings and catfish are always cooked on point. My only issue is that sometimes they screw the coleslaw order. I always ask for a large, but sometimes, they will give me 2-3 smalls, which is not the same as a large. Other than that, I have no complaints. read more

My sister place the large order for a party and I came by to pick it up for her. The location is clean and looks well organized, however, the guy who I first encountered was rude and had no personality whatsoever. Although we called in a phone order, the food still wasn't ready when we arrived. There was no information provided about how much longer the order would take. I would recommend this location because typically the food is good but the customer service leaves much to be desired. read more

Dinner | $10-20 Worst customer experience I've had in years. I tried to order items on menu and then rudely told they don't have it and that meals don't come with items stated on menu. Then the guy acts like I'm an idiot for reading the menu right behind him word for word. Find another Sharks. This one treats you like your a nuisance. 1 read more

Maybe I just came during a lunch rush, but what they put on online for the menu versus what you get are totally different

Sat in the drive through line for 40 minutes. We ordered 2 Catfish filet dinners with lemon pepper. Upon arriving home, it was revealed that we didn't get what we had ordered. What we received were catfish steaks clearly fried with no lemon pepper seasoning. Quite disappointing. read more

Waited 40 minutes for a ten piece chicken and gizzards. When I asked what's going on, one of the girls got real rude and was trying to embarrass me and my son in front of other customers. Then, the food was not good. The gizzards were over cooked and chicken had no flavor. That's the last time there for me. read more

I ordered from this location and the owner was rude and nasty. I ordered chicken for myself and my toddler. Upon retrieving my food the owner seemed to be very racist demanded the cook to serve myself a black woman RAW chicken. myself and other customers thought it was a joke. I arrive home and I was indeed served raw chicken. I call the police they arrive and get me a refund. The owner openly admitted to intentionally demanding his cook serve me RAW chicken because he felt rushed. read more

Awesome service and huge portions. Highly recommend going to this place. My fish sandwich had 2 big fish portions and large amount of fluffy on the inside but crispy on the outside fries. Covid-19 time, be better prepared to get customers in and out of drive thru and for goodness sakes do curbside! So, No I don't want to wait in drive thru line for hours when I placed my order over the phone 1/2 hour before heading up to Sharks. The lines are always long in drive thru because they are not letting anyone come in to pickup their their order nor are they allowing employees to come out and do curbside. I called them to complain and they told me we are in a pandemic, NO sh@t. If other restaurants use precautions like other fast food places so can they. Not the first time either with having issue with lack of respectful customer service. Yes most people know you all charge for extra sauce so when I order it I expect to get it without an attitude. Needless to say I cancelled my order and went to Sharks on Broadway by Andrean High School. They are allowing people in to pick up their orders, of course using state and government guidelines. I did not go in went right up to drive thru no cars. Ordered my food and was out of the drive thru lane less than 10 min. Broadway Sharks 100x better during this pandemic! In and out! read more

Sadly, I've had to change my review. I've encountered two very obnoxious women workers here who had attitudes and shouldn't be interacting with customers. I've also been overcharged on several occasions. And once, workers forgot my box of fries for a family meal. Make sure you keep an eagle eye on prices and what's in the bag. read more

After a year of not eating at restaurants I finally had the courage to try sharks and it was horrible, how do you mess up chicken? Today I am a lil disappointed. I got the pick 3 combo with catfish,gizzards,and shrimp. On the menu it says jumbo shrimp but it can with 6 over cooked baby shrimp and the gizzards were over cooked as well and the catfish tasted waaayyyyy to dry and fishy. I've never gotten a bad thing from there until today. I won't say I won't return but I won't get what I got again. read more

I've always been a Sharks fan, and when I'm back home, we usually stop in at least once. This new location is actually closer to my house than the one we used to frequent, and it's much easier to get into. Generally speaking, the menu is still the same, and the food is still good. I pretty much only ever get various forms of catfish, but my family also gets chicken wings, chicken tenders, hush puppies, etc. and there have never been any complaints. The employee I interacted with on this visit was welcoming and on top of things even though there seemed to be a lot of people placing big orders at the time. Prices too high for the amount of food you are getting. Looks like the prices have doubled.

I would give 0 stars if possible. Nobody in the entire place knows the difference between left and right. I waited 40 minutes for an order of 10 chicken legs when I had already called an hour prior and placed the order. Get home, they gave me the wrong order. So now I have to go back and swap them out for my actual order. Needless to say, it smells like a porter potty. It's absolutely disgusting inside and out. My husband, 4 year old and I ate some sharks two nights ago. Yesterday my daughter threw up in my car and that whole day, I was feeling "off" and tired. We ordered two lunch specials and seriously the food was so plentiful we had enough for two additional people. The catfish and fries were cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back.
