Combo 2 roast beef, bbq pork veg, mashed potatoes with gravy
    Damien M.

Located in the public market, there are combo 1 and 2 for meals. Combo 1 is one main plus 2 sides and combo 2 is 2 mains. I got #2 and chose roast beef and the bbq pork. Chose the vegetables and mashed potatoes covered in gravy. The roast beef was very tasty and fairly tender. The bbq pork was very lean and hence becomes dry which I thought it was. The bbq sauce was nice though. The mashed potatoes were decent especially with the gravy. The gravy is definitely delicious. Veggies were soft and decent as well. Over all a nice meal and pretty good. Since it is in the market it is public seating, stools and open space and very nosey due to the public walking around looking at all the stalls.

I chose the meal and two sides option for $17.95. I was given two slices of roast beef and I chose steamed veggies and mashed potatoes as sides. I was given very generous portions. I prefer my roast beef on the rarer side and customer service told me they have been cooking all day so won't be that rare. He gave me a couple of pieces that had some pink in them. It was delicious and juicy.

There werent a lot of of food places open in this area. And looking at this chophouse, we thought it would be expensive. But the roast beef combo with grilled veggies and perogi was only around $16! It was a pretty big serving too. My sister and I shared a plate. Really good find and the staff was very accommodating too. He offered us an extra set of cutlery. We enjoyed the food in the outdoor seating area.

Visited north Vancouver for the first time, since it's holiday seasons many merchants were closed, we were lucky to see this highly rated place still open, we decided to order 2 proteins and 2 sides, steak and ham and perogies and mashed potato's with gravy. The steak requires 2 extra dollars but it's pretty worth it, ham on the other side is very dry, I love the mashed potato and the perogies, only thing I hated was the plastic knifes, the steak wasn't cut properly so we had to use our plastic knifes to separate them, it was such a painful and exhausting experience. It was also Luke warm so I wonder if they can improve it somehow. U get to eat it in the market, which has a cozy atmosphere.

Super quality place for a budget meal in the Lonsdale Quay market. I always ask them what they recommend for the day. Today I ordered their Caribbean Jerk Chicken and Sharkys meatloaf with mashed potatoes and perogies. Both mains were really good, flavorful, provided in laaarge portions. Nice spice and kick to the jerk chicken, but not too spicy. The mashed potatoes were well made, nice, soft and fluffy. Perogies were also nicely done. They have dine in and take out. For the price, it's well worth it. Infact, both times I've come, i usually split the meal with a friend and I'm still full. 5/5 for price, location, and taste

Located in Lonsdale Quay market, Sharkey's is a must try for those visiting. Value wise, it can't be beat. The amount of food you get for one order can easily feed two adults and a small child. Fully aware that the pic I took of my order isn't the best but what you're looking at is a container jam packed with perogies, Mashed potatoes, and 6 slices of roast beef. I love the perogies, especially when they're smothered in sour cream. The mashed potatoes are pretty standard, but that's not a bad thing. It's good. Simple as that. Now on to the beef. Since the roast is kept in a warmer, it does continue to cook throughout the day, so if you're looking for a rare or medium-rare cut its best to show up early. The slices that I got were on the medium side, but no complaints. Would I return? I've been returning for the past 4yrs. Don't see myself changing that anytime soon.

We are from the states and I am a meat eater. I stumbled into Sharky's Chophouse totally at random and I had no idea what to expect. Considering the low prices, I ordered the double thinking that would be enough for a good meal. Steak, sausage, mashed potato, pirogi, gravy and grilled onions. I was astonished at the amount and quality of the food particularly given the low price. A little over 10 American dollars for a meal that would've cost at least 30 to 50 in America. Talk about comfort food! Definitely worth the trip over on the sea bus (also a great deal).

Amazing! We went for the special - choose 1 protein and two sides. We chose meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and perogies with sour cream. It was a big plate with very generous quantity of food. All for under $10!! My friend and I shared it and we were satisfied and pretty much stuffed when the plate was cleared. It was very tasty and flavourful and I enjoyed every bite! The gravy on the mashed potato wasn't too salty either. Everything was cooked to pretty much perfection. I would suggest sharing a plate as they give you generous portions. The guy who helped us was also very friendly. This place is great for some comfort food too. I had wanted their baked beans as one of my sides, but they were running out. Yes, we went when they were about an hour before they close. I would definitely go back and I would love to try their baked beans!

That was awhile back, and now this place has been another go to in terms of fine meat products for me. Last time I came with a 'nomnomnivore' as she had some grocery shopping to do and wanted some premium sausages for a brunch she was cooking up... as she was hanging with me, and this is my hood, this was where we were going to go! I guess I haven't been here in awhile as I see a funky hipster individually bulb lit 'BACON' sign on the backend. It was early on a Saturday and everytime you come in here, everything in the meat fridge while you window shop looks fresh and screams buy me now and bring me home to eat! From your raw meats, to ground meat in tube form, this place is ready to serve your ethical meat needs, they also have cold cuts like prociutto too. Just going through a list of goodies they have here.... dry aged beef, multiple different cuts of beef, veal, poultry (if the red meat doesn't jive with you), lamb, pork, exotic meats... even 'CUTE BUNNY' I found in the freezer, bison, elk, frozen pies, flours, cheeses, sauces, even syrup in this tiny little place, and a staff that understands where their stuff is from, you will be taken care of. Our sausages were great, a definite reason to return alone even if you buy nothing else, wished that one of them didn't burst out of the casing while cooking it, but obviously the meaty goodness wanted to bust right out, and some knifework had to be done to make a picture perfect presentation at brunch the next day. If you live around the Hastings-Sunrise area here's another good grocery shopping place to hit up your protein needs!

However, there were still many options, at least 15+ aburi sushi and assorted sushi boxes, as well as 5 or so sashimi boxes. Prices for prepared foods are just a tiny bit above average, but the items we chose were fresh and very tasty, making them well worth the price. We picked up : * aburi salmon 6pc ($15) --- Solid for the price. A good, average aburi that's comparable to what you'd get at a restaurant. * hamachi sashimi 4pc med-fatty ($16) --- Comparable in both price and freshness to a sit-down spot. Great cuts. * warabi mochi ($6.50) --- not sure how they transport these or if they were ever frozen, but it honestly didn't matter. The texture was soft and chewy, nearly on par with the fresh warabi mochi I've had in Japan. If you're a warabi mochi fan, I'd definitely recommend picking one up. * hamachi collar $9.50 --- Pleasantly surprised to find such a decent meaty portion for under $10. The marbling looked incredible when we first saw it. Felt like a mythic find, although I'm not one who goes out of my way to find fish collars. We baked and broiled it for a delicious dinner :) For some quality fish in those boxes, I'd pay the slight premium for Aburi market's sushi/sashimi options over the average grocery store any day.
