Absolutely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and customer care. I had a $10.24 balance that I was never billed for no calls, no statements, nothing. I showed up for my appointment today (which I had scheduled and was on time for), but I happened to forget my purse in a rush. Instead of working with me, they refused to see me over a copay, even though the balance was minimal and I've never missed a payment before. They insisted on speaking with Dawn from the billing department, who first claimed I hadn't paid my last copay. I then provided proof from my FSA, and only after that did they change their story and claim I owed $10.24 due to a 20% responsibility under my PPO plan. Completely unprofessional and clearly not concerned about patient care. I will be finding a new provider. The way this was handled was not only inconvenient, but pathetic. We had the DARKEST experience at RADIANT pediatrics.... This is by far the worst excuse for a medical facility and pediatric practice that we've ever visited. Dr. Sharma's staff was beyond rude and exhibited discriminatory behavior towards my sister/family as patients whom they were supposed to be helping. We brought my 12-year-old sister to his team for a general check-up. She has severe autism and we called her in advance as a courtesy to them as doctor's offices can sometimes make her a bit anxious. From the moment we walked in experienced rude stares and overt passive aggression from front desk staff, nurses, and doctors. When we voiced our dismay, the team was dismissive, acted shocked, and gaslit us into believing that we were making up our experience. My sister is mixed race (Black and Mexican) and without asking, they marked her as only 'Black' on her chart which we believe is the reason why they treated her and us inferior... if you care about your child, avoid his team at all costs & thank me later. read more

Dr Sharma deserves 6 stars!! I only say 4 stars because his front desk staff is absolutely THE WORST! They make you hold for ever they never have no social skills they dont follow through with what they say they are going to do! I was "on a waitlist" for 2 weeks and waited patiently until my kid got worse and I kept calling and bugging them only to find out the front desk checked and i was never put on the list AND WORST PART THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED ANd MY KIDS HAVE ONLY BEEN WITH THEM 3 years But enough about that terrible staff it's literally triggering me. DR SHARMA IS INCREDIBLE WITH THE KIDDOS! He makes them feel comfortable he respects their autonomy and actually spends time getting to know them. He is always kind and addresses all of our concerns not to mention he has never been anything but apologetic for his staff's shortfalls. ive heard him go address things with the staff immediately after I brought it to his attention. It seems like they have no common sense they place you on hold for longer than 20 minutes and then when they answer they hang up on you and it hasn't happened once it's happened multiple times and I've been going there for 14 years. Let me just start by saying Dr. Sharma is amazing. The Dr itself I have no issues with. However the staff is awful and such a pain to deal with. When calling to make appointments they have you on hold forever. When in the office even with an appointment they'll have you waiting an hour +. Lately I had been going to the Apple valley location but they have you waiting in the lobby forever. They have signs saying keep 6 feet apart but eventually the lobby gets full and they do not enforce the regulations. The billing lady is so rude. She was the worst by far to deal with. Check in was easy and simple. We were seen within not even 15 minutes of being there. Regardless of there being a miscommunication regarding the appointment type, the girls in the front were able to get the doctor to see us for a full doctor visit instead of shots only. Doctor was very warm and welcoming with the baby, as he is non verbal and tends to cry a lot and not do well with new people. Doctor listened to all my concerns and talked options, and more important took it upon himself to start the referral process for specialist. This was my first visit and hope my one month visit from today goes smoothly as well I was a bit skeptical after reading all the bad reviews, but glad I still gave this office a chance. Beyond disappointed with the fact that Dr. Sharma will not see my child for an ear infection in person because of cold symptoms. You go to school to be a doctor, you see people with the flu and Pneumonia for years and years! And now suddenly you are "covid vaccinated" and "masked up" and still CANNOT check out your patient for an ear infection? Covid or not, this is disgusting to me. I have been going to Dr. Sharma since I had my first baby, 9 years ago. Over time it has just gotten busier and busier. I always have preferred to see him, most of the PA's there I haven't been a huge fan of. Lately I have felt the office staff is lacking kindness to say the least. Could be that they are rude because they have no time and ran ragged. The office has looked very filthy over the last year or two as well. I usually just go with it, maybe it's just our area, people just thrash things and don't clean up. All the reviews before me are spot on - terrible phone service!! 1) New to town. Told this was the best pediatrician in the area. Sadly, can't review the doc cause we could only get Nurse Practitioner. 2) first time making an appointment over the phone was a joke. I called back 3 times and finally stayed on hold for a total of 53 minutes before I was dealt with. 3) setting up an appointment was also a waste of time. arrived early to appointment to fill out new patient forms and waited over an hour before taken to the back. didn't leave until an hour after that. 4) Prescription was supposedly sent. Went to pickup - nothing sent. Just great there goes another hour of me wasting my time on hold. Was told they would call the pharmacy. 5) Called pharmacy next day - nothing! 6) repeat step #4 7) repeat step #5 but within an hour 8) repeat again and again for a week 9) still on MFKN HOLD AS I WRITE THIS OUT! I know it's not the pharmacy because one of my prescriptions made it there after my kids appointment and I got it already. When someone is repeatedly calling because of their prescription you would think they would at some point follow up with the pharmacy? Nope, don't expect it. What's the purpose in having a great doc if the front staff can't get it together? This to me is a reflection of the doctor that I still haven't seen yet. Looking for another in the area. Several days ago I confirmed my appointment by text AND email for Friday 13th at 2:45pm.. today I called to see which location I was going to as I couldn't remember. They told me Victorville location but also told me my appointment was at 2pm. I told her I confirmed for 2:45 days ago and the girl on the phone said we have 2pm here. Fine whatever... I told her I'd be at Victorville at 2pm. I get there 5-10 minutes early. Not only could they not find my chart, but I was not in the system but they also said my appointment was at the APPLE VALLEY location not Victorville. I asked why I was told Victorville and she just shrugged. I called apple valley told them what happened and thankfully they still got me in but I waited at apple valley almost 2 hours before I was seen. Then I'm walking out and they let me know that they sent a prescription to my pharmacy. I drive to my pharmacy and they said they never got anything. I call the doctors office and she said I told you it could take up to 2 hours before the pharmacy gets it. I told her no you didn't or I wouldn't of gone straight to my pharmacy. The office girl didn't even apologize and said don't worry we'll send it. While waiting in the waiting room it sounded like no one knew what was going on or how to do their job. Even the doctor who I spoke with seemed in a hurry to leave the room and like he didn't have time to go over everything with me. I am now going to look for a new doctor and office who actually have the knowledge and time to help. I'm baffled by how unprofessional these 2 offices were today. My two-year-old daughter was fussy and had a slight fever. We seen the PA not the doctor, who diagnosed her with bilateral ear infection. I disagreed as a nurse myself, seeing that the PA didn't look into her ear correctly with the equipment, and there was no symptoms for ear infection. The next day her fever was gone and she was fine. Had I not known she was wrong my daughter would have been prescribed 10 days worth of antibiotics that were unneeded. read more

Dr. Sharma is so kind and patient and caring with children, he is never rushed and is very thorough with his evaluations and care. Some complain of waiting time, which is completely worth it when you are seeing a pediatrician that actually cares. Very disappointed I switched my children over after I read all the great reviews called back in April and the soonest apt I could get was May 10th so I said okay since there was nothing urgent just a check up. Here I am a day before the apt both of my children are sick from the flu and I get a call this morning telling me the dr has a meeting tomorrow at our apt time (why that wasn't noticed before is beyond me) so she says she wants to reschedule me for May 24th! Are you kidding me! I will be looking for someone else down the future I'm sure I will have a lot of those scheduling issues. Dr akhil Sharma is the BEST I have seen in Adelanto/ Victorville area.. He always interacts with all my children and not just the one seeing him. He is always making sure the children feel comfortable. However his staff and PA are a complete joke!!! When you can the office expect at least a 30min wait on hold. The damn PA forced my 4 month olds eye open causing the skin to tear and bleed a little bit. I was furious!! I will never again have my children see her again. They use to be a good doctor about a year ago but they got a new nurse partitioner who doesn't know what she's doing. She looked at my son and said he was autistic and then made up some random thing about his stomach because of his weight. She kept throwing all these medical terms out there and she looked like she did not know what she was doing. Obviously I don't know what nurse says walks in and says your child is autistic because the child won't interact with her because how rude she was like she didn't even want to be there. So I'd ask to speak only to the doctor or switch because even the staff is rude now. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They use to be good but not anymore. read more

The Good... Dr. Sharma is an awesome, patient, and caring doctor. He treats patients with the respect and kindness they deserve. When diagnosing children he is sure to clearly explain the diagnosis to the parents in a way that easily understandable. He will take the time to answer any questions you may have without making you feel like it's an inconvenience or that he doesn't have time for you. The Bad... Trying to get an appointment with the doctor is frustrating. It begins with at least 5-15 minutes of being on hold. When you do get to make an appointment it is always one month out. It is impossible to actually see the DOCTOR at this office without waiting for weeks. Latest appt w/Dr. is at 3pm. Getting a call back after getting X-Rays or blood work? Doesn't happen, it's your responsibility to call them, leave a message, and hope they get back to you. Need a referral? Well, that won't happen...after leaving SEVERAL messages I still haven't received a call back from their office manager (or whoever does referrals). Ended up using PPO at a different Dr. office. Pathetic. The UGLY... The staff is an absolute joke. They have absolutely no sense of common courtesy. They are rude and abrupt and make you feel like you are wasting their time (HELLO?? If it weren't for me you'd be unemployed!!). On my most recent call, after holding for 9 minutes, the RUDEceptionist ...uh I mean... receptionist asks me how she can help me. I tell her I would like to make an appt. for my child. She says something I couldn't make out (call dropped for a split second)..I say I'm sorry I didn't hear you. She replies, "what... (2 second pause) does... ( 2 sec. pause) she... (2s.p.) need.. (2s.p.) to.. (2.s.p.) be (2s.p.) seen (2s.p.) for". WOW, that was uncalled for. After scheduling the appointment I said thank you - did she? NO, she just hung up - no "thank you", no "goodbye." This is common procedure with their receptionist(s). They are more often than not RUDE as can be and rarely helpful. If you go to Dr. Sharma's office expecting nothing - you'll be fine. But if you expect courteous and helpful staff - YOU WILL SURELY BE DISAPPOINTED. if not on the first visit, you most certainly will on a subsequent visit. Guaranteed. RUDE Receptionist...geez!! I brought my baby daughter here for her first month check-up and we won't be back. The wait time was horrendous especially with a new baby. We waited in the waiting room for about 45 minutes. The waiting room does not have a sick kids area which I did not like either. Once we got called in she was weighed and they asked me basic questions about her then we went to wait some more in the examining room. The wait time in the examining room was probably 30 minutes. The PA came in and asked more questions, examined my daughter, and was out to her next patient. The whole check-up lasted less than 5 minutes. The PA was very nice and friendly but I was expecting the doctor. The PA told us if we wanted the doctor to tell the receptionist that we request him for our next appointment. The next appointment was a month and a half away, which I felt was too long. I called my previous pediatrician and made an appointment with her and she was available the next week! I called Dr. Sharma's office to cancel the appointment and I was put on hold for 15 minutes. Thanks, but no thanks. read more

I didn't think I could ever give any business a one star review, but it starts from the moment you enter their office. Filth! Dirty, ripped and worn chairs. Feels like a free county clinic. Be ready to kill at least two hours. As for Dr Sharma he's evil. At first he seemed compassionate to our concerns about vaccines and our children's allergic reactions to an ingredient in vaccines. I'm not opposed to vaccines, but we have a valid concern and suggested Dr Sear's alternate and more spread out vaccine schedule. He tried to discredit dr Sears by stating anyone can write a book. Yeah, but dr Sears' book made number one nation wide. He also has an organic baby & children's food line sold in stores across the nation. If Sharma try's to tell you it costs him more money than he makes to order and administer vaccines, ask him if it's made up by rebates for each vaccine ordered at the end of the year. When he showed his true evil? We needed him to write a letter stating we are on an alternate schedule vaccinating our boys due to medical reasons to enroll them in kindergarten. He said he'd only write it after we administered 6 vaccines in one day. Thanks to Sharma we ended up at dr Sears' office in Orange County. A clean office. A warm family feeling office and a :30 minute one on one visit with Dr Sears himself. Turns out our boys should never get and would be too dangerous to get the MMR vaccine because of their reaction to eggs. This is why children get hurt from vaccines. Incompetent greedy dr's like Sharma. Thanks Sharma for attempting to discredit Dr Sears. As a dad it's my job to make sure only the best for our little boys. read more

So Dr Sharma's office doesn't seem to be getting better, it seems to be getting worse. Making an appointment is an ordeal. The office staff can appear plain old rude at times. Most frustrating of all is the lack of follow-up appointments for out-sourced things like x-rays and lab work. Dr. Sharma sent our daughter out to an x-ray lab, and then his office never called to set a follow-up appointment (as they said they would when x-rays arrived in their office). Ok I love Dr Sharma. Really great Dr! However, his staff just ruins him! You could never get through and when you finally get through. They are dumber than dirt! I'm sorry but I'm at my wits end! I need to find a new Dr with a professional staff that knows how to talk to patients and is knowledgeable. It's a shame because I really love the Dr but I just can't with his unprofessional staff. Dr.Sharma is the best. I've been taking my kids to him for 14 years! Yes, it can take awhile to get an appointment; worth it! He currently has an amazing NP (haven't been a fan of previous ones) Dr. Sharma and his NP always remember me and my kids which is super important. They have an excellent bedside manner and always take fantastic care of my kids. Downside? Yes it takes awhile to get an appointment sometimes, yes sometimes hold times on the phone are ridiculous, yes sometimes I feel there is no closed loop communication between staff and doctors. However, I love Dr Sharma and his NP for my kids. read more

As an update to my previous review - it looks as though the previous receptionist Erica has been replaced. I've been in four times since the beginning of the year and have not seen her. I have been able to make appts easier then before, with less wait time on the phone. Also, the wait time has been improved, still can be a long wait at times. Just recently I went in as a walk in because my daughter had a fever for 4 days, and for the first time at ANY appt (in the almost 5 years we've been seeing him) we checked in and were seen, in-n-out in under 45 mins. It was so surprising! Now, if he could keep that up I would definitely give five stars in the future. read more

I agree with the other review here regarding the office staff of Dr. Akhil Sharma. He is a very good doctor, if you get to see him. His office staff is NOT helpful or courteous. The phone system is awful. I will enter an extension and it will take me no where, and I have to call back. When I mentioned it to the staff, they told me that the Doctor hasn't fixed it yet. There were a ton of ants in the office last time I was there 8/9/13. It's call Raid and it will deter the ants from coming in the waiting area. YUCK! It took myself and my three kids almost 3 hours to complete our basic check-up appointment. We arrived at 9:45 for our 10am appointment. We weren't seen until 11am for the basic height and weight, and then we were told to go back to the waiting room and we were finally called back to a patients room at 12pm. After another 15 minutes, the PA, not the Doctor, finally checked all my kids. We didn't finish the entire visit until 12:45pm. I have talked to the Doctor about the long wait times over a year ago and nothing has changed. It's time to cut ties and find another Doctor who will respect his patients time by being ON TIME! read more
