Little to no bedside manner. She barely made eye contact with me & was stone cold. NO expression on her face. Mind you, I suffer from anxiety & panic disorder, so having to re-tell all my stories is hard for me. BUT in order to get my meds refilled, I needed to be seen by her. I didn't feel like she cared, AT ALL. But, again, i needed my medication (it's a heart medication. Regulating my heart prevents panic attacks, because they can get really bad). She ended up refilling my prescription. I reached out to the office letting them know I recently moved. In the middle of moving, I misplaced my medication somewhere. It's very important for me to have this medication as preventative measure - as I am a mother of two, i work full time, & I'm in school. My load on a daily basis is HEAVY, & I need to be able to get through the day. I reached out to them 2 days ago. For some ODD reason, their Medical assistant sent my request to their NP, Daniel. Daniel rejected my request because "he was uncomfortable approving it since he's never seen me." THAT'S A QUOTE FROM THEIR FRONT DESK. So i'm thinking, WHY would you send it to him then? the MA has absolute access to see that I've only been seen by the dr?????? So, he rejects my request & sends it to Dr. Rouhi that same day (Tuesday). She didn't open in that day. The following day, Wednesday, she's in the office all day - also does not see my request. How can the NP see my request hours after it's sent to him, but over 24 hours later, the dr still has not seen it? I called the office today, Thursday. "Dr. Rouhi is not in the office today" is what I'm told. The fact that it's been 48 hours since I've sent the request; the doctor has not seen it, the dr is not even in the office today - is just WILD to me. This is a HEART medication. I've ended up in the ER because of my panic attacks, & they'd rather have that happen than check their messages or do the basic thing - like send it to the person who's treated the patient. So much negligence, & I understand things happen sometimes. But with all due respect, when it comes to patient care, you have little room for negligence. That's why their doctors - they get paid to do this. This is not a mistake of scheduling my appt at the wrong time; this is my LIFE. I need my medication. And now I'm either gonna end up in the ER or have to wait for her to potentially approve or deny my refill lol they are such a joke. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. I've never had a problem like this with ANY other PCP. Unfortunately for me, my favorite PCP's are either retired or no longer in network. But you can BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR I am SWITCHING PCPs! Dr. Arvan didn't review any of the paperwork I gave her which included recent lab reports, diagnosis and treatment plans, etc. She didn't ask me any questions about my health or how I was feeling. She was more worried about the natural supplements I was taking to treat SIBO not being FDA approved. I simply needed to get a physical exam done to qualify for a discount on my medical insurance but she refused to treat me because I'm seeing an ND as well. Are you kidding me? I'm taking things like calcium, multi vitamin, vitamin D, K, C. I'm also on HRT but she didn't like that either. How would she have any idea on my hormone levels without even looking at my lab results. What a waste of time. Seems she doesn't like her patients seeing anyone but MDs. If not for them, i woulda left a long time ago. but recently, when i referred my husband, the issue with the billing and the rudeness of the staff and their unwillingness to help had just really thrown me off. enough is enough. i have experienced the same just like what other people on here say, how they are on the phone and in person. Jared, what have you done to fix this issue? how come we are still all experiencing this kind of treatment from your staff like we owe them our health? SHADY BILLING PRACTICE AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE are the two things that best describe this…read morehealthcare provider and facility. i made an appointment for a physical annual exam which my insurance covers at 100%. i had to wait for at least 2 months to be seen only to get a call 2 days before my appointment that they were going to cancel my appointment and the doctor will just do a phone appointment which to me didnt make sense because its a "physical" check up. i insisted to come in which they accommodated. this happened in july this year. what made my visit worse was when i was slammed by torrance memorial with almost $300 copay for an annual physical exam. i called my insurance company and they confirmed that annual physical visits are covered and that the doctor and torrance memorial billed it as a "diagnostic" visit instead of "preventive". my insurance company advised me to call the provider back to resubmit the claim and correct the billing code. i called the office to ask for an explanation in august. they said that the doctor did a "diagnostic" exam which explains why i had a high copay. i told them that was incorrect because i scheduled an annual physical exam. the lady i spoke with said they couldnt help me with the billing explanation so i decided to call the billing department and said that they couldnt do anything about it because thats how the provider wrote his notes. I message the doctor himself through the portal to no avail. my message was ignored with the attached invoice. the lady acknowledged that there was a mistake on their part. so i was told that she will have the manager call me back. i didnt get a call back in august. 2 months later, i received another bill from this provider. finally the manager named Hilda called me back for the first time. I was told that they billed it correctly and the doctor did a diagnostic exam because apparently i raised my health concerns which is normal in every physical exam. they still refused to correct the code and still didnt explain why they used such code when i made it clear to the doctor that i was there for a physical, he ordered the lab tests and asked if i have health concerns and my past medical history, which i answered truthfully. and because i did answer truthfully, it was billed as diagnostic. was i supposed to say i dont have any health concerns? i have seen other doctors and this wasnt my first physical exam. he then proceeded to give me referral to other specialists. these are all normal things and procedure in every annual physical exams. I LEFT THE OFFICE WITHOUT DIAGNOSIS FROM THE DOCTOR AND NO PRESCRIPTION. so, what did he diagnose? i asked them to correct the bill so i can pay the correct amount of copay. i never asked them to waive the copay because if i had to pay something. i will. im not someone that would make time to write reviews online as i am always busy. but i was compelled to. Hilda the manager, was very unhelpful and all she did was forward me to people where i would get the same answers. i have given them 3 months to get back to me and multiple chances to make things right. not only this place and staff are hostile and unethical, they made it seem like i was lying which was very offensive to me. the lady i spoke with back in august (could be Marissa which by the way, another unhelpful staff, and a Jessica or a Sylvia - because according to Hilda, she doesnt know who wrote the notes when i asked for the name) noted that i refused to speak to anyone in the office and the billing department said the same thing. if that was true, how come i waited 2 more months and even took the initiative to message the doctor himself in august and still i was ignored? go check the portal and you will find my ignored message in there. all i wanted was to understand why the doctor billed me the way he did. but the staff, the billing department and the manager Hilda said that they wouldnt change the billing code and everything was done correctly. if this is how this provider and facility work, SO BE IT. but this is the same exact reason why Americans lose faith and trust on the country's health care system and its a shame that a big medical facility such as Torrance Memorial operate this way. i will not recommend this doctor, facility and staff. the staff have jobs because of patients like us who patronize this facility. but if you dont like what you do and the things you have to deal with as part of your job responsibilities, Torrance Memorial should consider replacing these people. alot of people are capable of doing your jobs and hopefully this facility finds a team that will stay true to their mission and vision. cause until that happens "embracing the values of SERVICE, EXCELLENCE, KNOWLEDGE, STABILITY and COMMUNITY", is and will always just be a grandiose delusion.

She provided instructions for both me and my environment and then went on to accurately diagnose my health concern and based on that provide a thorough treatment plan. She backed all this up with very regular appointments, hearing tests, sinus camera checks, and more to ensure I was progressing. When surgery was needed to secure the progress I've made she was amazing at that too. I am very grateful for the care I've received from her and know I'm much healthier now than I've been in a long time!

Generally, such great reviews for a doctor's office leave me a bit skeptical (my father owned a couple of medical clinics throughout his career, and my mother was an administrator, so I've been behind the scenes). However, I booked my first appointment and never looked back! They were very accommodating during the Pandemic, so my treatment, while remote, never skipped a beat. There are very good reasons she's booked so far in advance, and why so many of her patients are devoted to her practice. Finding a physician who still radiates a passion for her profession is rare these days - grueling schedules and insurance claim headaches can wear away at the most cheerful of personalities. However, in the years I spent under her care, she never lost focus on the patient, their medical treatment, and their overall experience.
