Ever since I can remember, my daughter has had allergies according to the pediatrician, but a specialist was never warranted. Without going into the full diagnosis, I must exclaim that we were blessed to have found Dr. Kadivar! A friend who is a medical professional required the services of Dr. Kadivar years ago and praised her highly! Despite seeing these disgruntled comments that were posted on-line, I chose to see Dr. Kadivar because the opinions differed drastically from recent patient experiences.During our first visit, we waited no more than 10 minutes for our appointment. Dr. Kadivar spent a significant amount of time with us and even entertained questions from "little brother". She conservatively diagnosed the problems and her staff set up a same-day CT and an appointment with an allergist to have my daughter tested for allergies. This service was not only experienced the first visit, but was the norm over the course of 8 months. The staff thoughtfully schedules patients to ensure short wait times and more than sufficient time to spend with the doctor. Appointment times are flexible and accommodating for school-age children!Dr. Kadivar is very concerned about the environment (in-doors and outdoors) and diet of the patient, while being treated. It may be viewed as intrusive, but in our case it ruled out contributing factors before leaning towards surgery as the solution. Simple instructions were given to control allergens in the bedroom and are good practice throughout the house! I had done a lot, but she made suggestions to improve our in-door environment even more!At age 15, my daughter had endoscopic sinus surgery, balloon sinuplasty, adenoidectomy and bilateral submucous resection of turbinates in April 2011. Three months after surgery, my daughter's allergies are under control, we continue with a daily saline sinus rinse and my daughter continues to FINALLY breath through her nose and smell!!! Full benefits of the aforementioned procedures take about 6 months, but we are thrilled so far!If you or your child feel like there is more to a problem and need to seek a professional opinion, I HIGHLY suggest Dr. Kadivar. She is very thoughtful, sensitive, and gentle. In my opinion, she finds the solution WITH YOU at the appropriate pace! First, taking care of the simple things. Second, working with other specialists for optimum assessment, with the possible use of temporary medication. Finally, determining if the problem is chronic and requires surgery.Overall, our family had a very positive experience and the anesthesiologist (Dr. Kobiyashi) she used for the surgery rocked too! They made a great team!!! read more
